Vulpan Keep [ACRO]
This thread isn't really a plot, which is why the only tag up there is [ACRO]. But this location is not in Acronymia, and can't be accessed by anyone who doesn't know where it is, obviously.
Set into the mountains of northern Vulpania is a sprawling castle. Carved out of the rock itself, this is the head of Tobias' Kingdom, and where the military might is based out of.
Sept will appear in an antechamber, inside.Me quoque per multos similis fortuna labores

Re: Vulpan Keep [ACRO]
Sept appears and shakes her head a bit disoriented from the teleporting. She looks around quietly for any sign of Tobias.

Re: Vulpan Keep [ACRO]
On the north end of the antechamber is a small door leading further into the castle. On the south end is an impressive wooden door, with laughing voices behind it.

Re: Vulpan Keep [ACRO]
She quietly goes to the wooden door and tries to only open it a crack to peek in, hoping to go unnoticed for now.

Re: Vulpan Keep [ACRO]
There's Tobias, sitting on a loveseat with his back to her, and some elderly men in comfortable chairs facing him. The grandness of the room, and the opulence of the other men, suggests that the king is receiving some important people.

Re: Vulpan Keep [ACRO]
Sept sees him and smiles slightly. For now, she lets them talk. She knows better than to just barge in and interrupt. Shutting the door back, she goes to explore a little. Maybe find Tobias' chamber.

Re: Vulpan Keep [ACRO]
Luckily for her, the place seems to be deserted. She will eventually find it, after awhile; the castle is giant. The room is fairly bare. A large, comfortable looking bed, dressers, nightstands, bookshelves, locked box next to the bed... Not much you wouldn't expect.

Re: Vulpan Keep [ACRO]
She's a little surprised by the lack of guards and servants. The angel had been half expecting someone to yell at her for just wandering around the castle. Planning on waiting, she sits on his bed and looks for some sort of book to kill time.

Re: Vulpan Keep [ACRO]
A good half of the books are written by clerics of Histor, and are accounts of various past events. Dealing with Tobias. Hmm... The Black Fox: an Unconventional Hero sounds like a good title.

Re: Vulpan Keep [ACRO]
She scowls a little at the mention of The Black Fox but curiosity gets the better of her and she starts flipping through it.

Re: Vulpan Keep [ACRO]
The author basically presents an arguement that the Black Fox is a hero the forces of Good should look up to for his willingness to use unconventional tactics, he is referring to acts of evil, in order to fight evil. He furthermore claims that the Black Fox fights for the many above the few and represents the unflinching savior who is not bound by the strict morals the Pyrites are. The book also brings up many instances of The Black Fox being condemned for his actions and persecuted unmercilessly, such as when people attempted to put him to death for "war crimes". The author ends his account by pondering, Does the Black Fox have any feelings at all? Does the fact that so many of those he fought to save from horrible death at the hands of the Selinites decry him as pure evil? If the Black Fox has a soul, surely he would be tormented by this. But perhaps he is above caring.

Re: Vulpan Keep [ACRO]
Sept finishes the book and puts it aside, pulling her knees up to her chest and sighing. Poor Toby. To think of what he's been through with Black Fox in charge. She says quietly to herself. If he doesn't show up soon, she'll go back out to investigate.

Re: Vulpan Keep [ACRO]
Actually, the Black Fox is just the name they use to refer to me. How long has he been standing next to her? The mental personality of the Black Fox as you know it today was only created long after the Last Pyrite War that book mentions; when my second love died.

Re: Vulpan Keep [ACRO]
Sept practically falls off the bed when she jumps back. Toby, a hi would have worked just as nicely.

She gathers herself a little and sits next to him. I missed you. You didn't even say goodbye when you left.

Re: Vulpan Keep [ACRO]
That's not entirely true. I would have asked to go with you. Or at least have you promise to return to me at times. She tries to reach out and touch his cheek. Didn't you miss me?

Re: Vulpan Keep [ACRO]
Tobias sighs and lets her. Sept, I have an obligation to my people. I mean, my PM takes care of things nicely, but they still need to see me every now and then, to know that I still care about them. It's not like I have any friends back there.

Re: Vulpan Keep [ACRO]
I would never keep you from returning here. I might ask to go with you but never stop you. Never forget that back there you have your family and me. You also have friends and people who would risk their lives for you. Her fingertips lightly trace around his cheek.

Re: Vulpan Keep [ACRO]
Sept... I really don't have any friends there. Nobody but you really cares about me as a person, and I guess I left because of that...

Re: Vulpan Keep [ACRO]
That was just something to do. They don't care when I really need them... He frowns, practically an oversensitive child, and leans into her.

Re: Vulpan Keep [ACRO]
She wraps her arms around him pulling him closer to her. You just don't see it the way I do, love. People care about you.

Re: Vulpan Keep [ACRO]
Most of them hate me. They make fun of me... drive me away... ignore me when I need help... He sighs and puts an arm around her.

And yet you are the person they turn to when something goes wrong. They just do those things because they fear the strength and compassion you hold. She runs her fingers through his hair.

He gets a successful kiss and she smiles. And stop doing this, okay? I would appreciate not to learn that you've left by everyone else.

Re: Vulpan Keep [ACRO]
She playfully smacks at him with no intention of hurting him.
