Upon done casting he continues to speak: "You know, elves and giants aren't necessarily our enemies, we are looking for a sneaky shardthief."

Landus continues his cautious movement and tries to keep on higher ground than the rest of the group

Akhenatem draws his blade and steps in front of the group, giving off a low rumble as he spreads his feet and trains his eyes on the beast. Whether or not his companions decided to fight the monster, it would be prudent for at least one of them to be prepared in case they weren't given a choice.

Chester looks at Torais cautiously and starts to speak. "Say Torias, you appear to be enchanting your mace... Are you planning to assault this beast or are you merely being cautious? I could just as easily distract with the illusion of a moving prey item so that we might move along safely. Having said that, is this creature actually carnivorous?"

I am not quite sure what this beast is, but for the moment, it means us no harm. We should attempt to figure out a way around it, so that we do not have to engage it in battle. It is not related to our primary objective, and killing innocent creatures of the forest is not something I will tolerate.

Eshalyn looks for a way around the beast, moving off the path if neccessary.

Akhenatem fights back valiantly and without much ado, swinging his massive blade without any finesse what so ever.

See, ya durned druid. I dun told ya them wild animals ain't fer trustin! Bwa HA!

Torias moves up between Eshalyn and the creature and casts an incantation. Winding up a huge 2handed blow at the empty air before him, a pulse of brilliant energy in the form of a huge spinning bladed mace flys forth from the material form of the mace, striking the bear thing. Mid follow-through, the gem on Torias's diadem pulses fiercely and his mace swings around in a backhand blow, again casting out a ghostly spinning projection of the mace itself.

Chester starts to move his arms and murmer an incantation. Suddenly an exact copy of the creature springs into being and starts taunting the strange bear abberation, making sure never to quite touch it though (DC 21 to disbelieve).

The damage from the large mummy creature falls it, once it hits the ground, you begin to see maggots crawling out of its maws.
