After a few moments he runs out of his room and straight for the portal to the Butler Estates.

Lying? Oh heavens, no! I'm no liar. A few truths have been fogged up here and there, just like with anyone else, but lying's far too easy.

The way the system currently works, the mainframe strives to do everything in its power to protect members of the organization. In the interest of preventing a lich from using an instrument of fate to cause me to strangle my daughter at some point in the near future, I'd like the mainframe to have the authority and desire to non-lethally or lethally take down any and all who'd try to harm her, myself included, in case there should happen to be any means for it do so. Now am I going to make her a member, or would you rather have me shot in the chest a dozen times and then punt out the door to "play it safe"?

What I really don't understand is, why go for her? From a strategic point of view, there's no benefit in giving me more motive to go demon-slaying, and he's lost the bargaining chip he had in gaining my cooperation.

Sam shrugs uneasily as she tries to process Cynthia as a member, with all the rights and protections thereof. Sometimes, they attack those you have an emotional tie to for the sole purpose of using those emotions against you. Clouding your judgement, making you hesitant, you know...

I dunno, I've never been one for clear-headed judgment. All I see is a big, stupid, all-out violent charge against him if he were to succeed. S'not too different from what I've already got in the works, but with a bit more profanity and volume.

He heads for the door.

Sam smiles at the girl, then turns so she can watch Magtok continue to leave. Still a few months, Dai... Hi Abigail...

So, how's the demiplane? It's peobably a good idea to stay there for a couple more days at least, as the person I warned you about seems to have started up an Apocalypse.

He's Magtok! He's interested in staying alive and fighting Cal, and if there is a little girl that Cal wants because of him, we will extend our computer protection to her. Sam looks annoyed as she opens a box left near the front door and starts working on something. Furthermore, he has a point about our president not doing anything. I have never received an order, task, or instruction from him.

Daisuke looks somewhat worried. There's a point here. The Vice-President has exercised his power more.

I know! Of course we'll protect her. But he shouldn't mock us about redeeming people.
She looks thoughtful after calming down.
I've never even seen the president. Or heard their name until today. Or even known they existed.

Sam sighs and continues installing a video camera/monitor system and a two way intercom to the front door. Now members will be able to see people outside and talk to them without needing to open the door and potentially give them a chance to force entry. Of course, Butler will still open the door. It's practically the only service he's allowed to give to the people here!

No... Sam tests the camera, turning it on and panning it around. I'm just wondering what the point is in having a woman of my expertise and capability, and not giving her a single order. Failing to utilize your resources is stupid, and a mark of a poor leader. But I'm not advocating a coup. I'm going to go back to my demiplane, and have this kid...
