Quinn is in the infirmary, doing her job.

Brendan is swimming.

Sunny wanders by the pool. But when she sees Brendan there in swim trunks, she suddenly decides she wants to be elsewhere and turns to go.

[Rose Garden]

Charity is sitting in the gazebo, trying to draw. It's painful. Literally.

[Rose Garden]

"Hi, Charity!" A cheerful voice interrupts Charity's self-harming art.

If she looks, she'll see Misaki. With some obvious differences, of course.

[The Bushranger]

[Pool]

Brendan pops up, and waves at Sunny with a smile. Hey.

[Infirmary]

Quinn finishes some paperwork, and leans back, closing her eyes.

"That's a really good costume."

[The Pool]

Sunny flinches, forces a smile and a little wave, and hurries out.

[Gazebo]

"Huh?" Misaki's tail lashes idly as she looks at Charity. "It's not a costume. I'm a catgirl now!"

In the infirmary, Tobias makes mental contact with Quinn. What's up?

(Pool)

Brendan watches Sunny run off with a raised eyebrow, then climbs out of the pool and towels off.

Slipping on his shirt, he considers heading after her to ask what's the matter, but decides against it, and heads to the Training Room, making a note to ask Charity about it later...

(Infirmary)

Quinn sends a mental smile across their link. ~I wanted to let you know I'm OK and wondered where you got to after you ran off...~

I'm doing fine. Out and about and studying mostly...

Sunny makes her way to the games room, where she plays PacMan.

[Gazebo]

"...oh."

(Infirmary)

~That's good. Misaki and I talked some more and she decided she didn't want the collar.~ Quinn pauses. ~Of course, now she wants to go liberate all the catpeople, too...~


(Training room)

Brendan starts practicing with a gunblade.

[Gazebo]

Misaki sighs. "You don't like it, do you? Quinn doesn't like it either. Or Tobias."

[Gazebo]

"It's not that. It's just, in the world I'm from, there's no such thing as catpeople except in movies and books. There aren't any talking animals, or wizards, or telepaths either. Just normal humans like Sunny and me..." Except she wasn't so normal anymore. What if Sunny had changed as well? How would she even know?

[Neon Knight]

[Gazebo]

"Really? My home was mostly normal people too. M-mostly.."

She does look better without it. A mental nod. I can help you there. Although, look at Butler. Would it be wise to kill this Adam and "free" them? They are obviously bred, or conditioned, with fierce loyalty and servititude. The shock of having nothing to do anymore could kill them.

[The Bushranger]

~I...hadn't thought of that,~ Quinn admits, frowning. ~But you might have a point. And imagine a world full of Butlers...~ She gives a mental shudder at that.

[Gazebo]

"Really? Where are you from? Me and Sunny are from Arlington." Sunny gives up on her drawing and sets it down. If Misaki looks at it, she'll see a partial sketch of an onion flower.

"A little town away from the city. Oakridge." Misaki looks at Charity's sketch. "That's pretty."

Marcos heads down to the infirmary, to do his job. He smiles warmly at Quinn as he enters, holding a rose in his right hand.

"Oak Ridge Tennessee? Where they researched the bomb?" Charity asks. When Misaki looks at her picture, she reddens a little. "It's not done. Doesn't look enough like the real thing."

[Neon Knight]

[Gazebo]

Misaki nods, still looking at the picture. "Yeah." She looks up at Charity. "It still looks nice, though. You're really good."

[Gazebo]

"You're from my world then? But.. what are you doing here? And how will you cope when you go back home and you're different from everyone?"

[Neon Knight]

[Gazebo]

"Mama sent me here to stay with Quinn while she took care of some things back home." Misaki looked at Charity curiously. "What do you mean? I mean... this is neat. Won't everyone else think so?" Quinn and Tobias aside.

Please note that Misaki isn't necessarily from Charity's world, just from a world that has an Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

I figured as much, since Charity is from the world of the players, where nothing is going on in the US that would make a parent think their child better off in Acro. Yeah, there's a recession, but it's hardly of the 'can't afford to feed an extra mouth' type.

"I honestly don't know. It might be the kind of thing Social Services might get involved in."

[Neon Knight]

"O-oh." Misaki falls quiet as she thinks.

Butler undeadtimes. Not sure who he'll run into yet though.

"Sorry, kid. Didn't mean to get you down. You look real cute." Charity says, with a half smile.

[Games Room]

Sunny is still playing PacMan.

Misaki gave Charity a small smile. "Thank you. I think I'm going to go make something for lunch. Do you want me to bring you something?"

Butler didn't even know they had this. So finds it in order to start cleaning!

"Oh hi ma'am. How are you ma'am?"

Sunny looks at Butler, and flinches. "I... okay...."

The ghosts catch her while she's distracted.

Charity smiles. "Sure, that'd be great."
