Well...that's kind of what I was talking about earlier, or at least was trying to. From what you said, it sounds like the catpeople...they belong to this Adam person, at least he thinks so. And that's why they wear collars - it's a symbol of belonging to him. They think it's right because that's what they're used to and they haven't known anything different.

Quinn frowns, deciding to see about checking out this Adam person...

Some people act nice even though they're not, because they know that if they acted the way they really were, nobody would like them and it would be harder to get their way...

Misaki may have noticed Adam was the only one without a collar.

Misaki thinks for a second. "A-adam didn't wear a collar... everyone else did, but he didn't..."

Meridian nods in agreement with Quinn - his explanation was similar.

Quinn's frown deepens at that bit of information.
That's probably because he was in charge. It sounds like all the catpeople are his slaves...
She leaves off the 'to him, including you' she wants to add.

Misaki hangs her head a bit and thinks. "W-why does Butler think he is so nice?"

No... Just... If you ever need anything... Please, let me know, Mr. Butler. She nods politely to him before turning to leave the pool area.

Wonder if Misaki is going to tell Quinn about the topless females she saw there too? Butler was far from the only shirtless person there. And bras were rare. At least it wasn't all out nudity.

"Certainly ma'am." Butler sighs and goes back to staring at the water and thinking. He hates thinking. He's a doing person, not a thinking person.

Right. Guess when I asked if you had read the thread, I meant the first couple of posts which heavily describe the place. Such as lack of shirts and what each building was.

Did collars really mean all that? He had always been proud of his collar. And the guy in charge of the place way back when, Mr. Amikarr, even gave him a better one. And Comet and Decker never mentioned anything about it when they visited... heck no one here ever mentioned anything about it despite always wearing it.

Because saying Butler is dumb as a fencepost gives fenceposts a bad name, is what Quinn thinks.

What she says is, Probably because Butler's been told that he's nice and, therefore, to him, he has to be. After all, somebody told him that so it has to be true, right?

The alternative, some kind of mind control, is something Quinn would really rather not think about.

Charmain heads for the greatroom again, hopeful to catch anyone who was involved in the argument.

Misaki frowns. "Quinn, this is bad. If all those catpeople are listening to Adam thinking he's nice, when he's really bad..." Misaki paused, then undid Butler's collar from her neck. "Quinn, will you promise me that you'll help me stop this?"

Quinn nods, and hugs Misaki tightly. I promise, sweetie. I totally promise.

And that will be the scene in the greatroom as Charmaine walks in.

Misaki hugs her back.

And Meridian snuggles Misaki's neck.

((If I might ask, when Butler died, what was his particular after life like? IE: where did he go?))

Oh look! There are tons of ripples in the water now. They seem to be coming from nowhere though.

Charmain looks over and spots the catgirl. She heads over to her and the woman hugging her. Excuse me. I don't mean to interrupt... Misaki?

Misaki looks up at the strange woman from her Quinn hug. "Yes?"

Quinn looks up at Charmaine, and raises an eyebrow.

Umm... catboy heaven? I dunno. I rarely assign afterlives to my characters.

I'd say he went to Hell to be with Decker, but then Decker wouldn't have been so broken up, so I imagine they didn't let him. So yeah. Catboy heaven I guess.

Butler looks at the ripples. And smiles a little. Pretty ripples.

[The Pool]

Decker-swan undeadtimes, floating in the water where the ripples are occurring.

[Greatroom]

Sunny undeadtimes as well, coming out from behind the chair to go to the kitchen for noms.

Brendan, somehow having been retconn'd back to kitchen, gives Sunny a wave and an almost shy smile as he washes his bowl.

That must have been some really soggy cereal torwards the end there.

"Hi Brendan," Sunny says. She doesn't sound quite as cheerful as usual.

The ripples start to get larger. A hoarse voice speaks from nowhere in particular.

"Butler... B... Butler... She suspects me now because of you..."

[Greatroom]

Charmain looks at Misaki for a moment, then smiles. Do you mind if I have a word with you?

"Um, no?" Misaki glances at Quinn.

[Reinholdt]

[pool]


"Umm... who suspects you sir? Or rather, who are you sir? Actually... what do you mean sir?" Butler hasn't a clue what this person is talking about.

Replace sir with ma'am if the voice appears female.

(Kitchen)

Hi, Sunny. What's wrong? Brendan asks, setting aside the now-clean bowl. You sound a little down...


(Great Room)

Quinn smiles at Misaki and nods, giving her shoulder a squeeze before leaning back.

"People are fighting a lot." Sunny says. She doesn't mention that Vidalia assaulted her last night, grabbing her arm and spinning her around when she was trying to leave the room.

Meridian gives Misaki's cheek a little ferretty kiss. I'll stay with you if you want.

Depending of whether or not you're Vidalia, of course...
