...During a conversation with Innis, I've been looking over the Gotei list and seeing captains who aren't there, don't come on often, or squads who are leaderless. This seems...problematic in almost every way to me.

Because of this, I'm making sure no one has any objections if I were to make a new captain for the 7th division.

That strikes me as a bit over the top. I realize that most of the Shinigami characters have Bankai, but most of the Shinigami characters are at least Captain or Vice Captain level. I don't think that universe power levels are quite that high at the moment.

Actually, it's not such a big thing. About every seated officer seems to know the name of their sword, the ONLY prerequisite for Shikai and to be frank, most shikai aren't supposed to be that impressive.

Well, yes. But, as HZ pointed out, there are only twenty seated officers of every division. That leaves, in the case of 6th Division, 830 unseated, about 617 or 618 of whom know the names of their swords.

The "shikai is not supposed to be that impressive" bit, I'm not so sure on. The only one that's truly unimpressive that I can recall is Ikkaku's, and, to an extent, Rangiku's. Everyone else's shikai that I can recall is pretty impressive, at least when it's used right.

Yeah. I mean, having more than just the seated isn't bad. Especially if their shikai is something like "my sword turns into a glaive" or some such.

But 3/4, or even really 1/2, is likely a bit much.

As something entirely unrelated, would anybody mind if I wrote up the departure of Team Masato? I'd have to do some godmodding of various characters, but it would definitely speed things up and finally finish the arc right and proper. I don't think we're really waiting on anything else, unless I am mistaken...
