    Default 3.5 The pact magic quest. (Solo campaign)

    The sun shine in the sky while you are calmly observing the sea passing by during your journey on the Blue Sun, the boat leading you the continent of Janeste to the town of Aloma.
    The captain of the boat a middle age human approch you. "We will arrive very soon my friend, no more than half an hour. If you look closely to the est you can already see the coast. I hope you have a good journey on my dear Blue sun ?" The last phrase was evidently a question and he is staring at you questionningly.

    Alright we're starting, please tell me what vestige you have bound, for now I assume that you have made a good pact and suppresing the sign. Later of course you will have to roll you're binding check.

    Rojelon Mazur scans the forward horizon and nods absently before turning to face the man. "Thank you, Captain. I appreciate your ship and crew very much. I will tell all I meet of your most excellent ship. So what can you tell me of Aloma?" The young man has an easy grace about him, both physically and in presence. Pale blue eyes meet the Captain's questioning gaze from beneath a mop of chestnut brown hair that just touches his shoulders. He holds a large floppy leather hat in his right hand, twirling it idly. His clothes are fashionable, but tough and sturdy, with many pockets and a pair of pouches on his belt. A dark but highly polished wooden shield is slung over the rucksack on his back. The well-worn handle of a sickle is hung on the left side of his belt while a crossbow hangs around the right side of his waist.

    "Oh Aloma is a small port town, living mostly form fishing and a little trading. For me it's only an escale for passenger like you and to ressuplie. After that we go too Reiner the trad hub on this side of the continent it's farther from the capital but it's on the mouth of the river leading directly to it so it's easier to transport cargo by barge." The captain talk with enthusiasm about this subject. Finnaly he once again turn is attention to you. "But I'm sorry I disgress, as I said Aloma his a small town but it's closer to the capital if it's their you want to go. In any case I must go, I have lot of thing to prepare for our arrival." With that the captaon smile at you, delighted with your praise and return to his man and begin giving order.

    With a nod, Roj allows the man to return to his duties even as he turns his attention back to his destination. What does the future hold for me here? How can I gain the power and influence needed to overthrow that bastard? Are there witch-hunters here, too? he considers all these things and more as the ship gets closer and closer to shore. Eventually, he replaces the hat to his head and rests his left hand on the railing while his right scratches idly at his growing beard.

    Blue Sun is the name of the Corporation for which the Blue-handed guys from Firefly worked. They were baaaaad dudes.

    As the captain said the Blue sun arrived in Aloma port less than half an hour later.
    From the port you can see a few small warehouses on your right, opposite to you what look like an administration builling and next to it, a fish shop, a small Inn and a private house. A few other boat are in the harbour mostly fishing vessel.
    Now that the Blue sun is at quay, the captain from behind the whell signale that you can go down.

    I admit I didn't know that, never got the chance to see firefly. I was trying to avoid giving any signifance to the boat and it didn't work.

    "Good-bye, Captain! And good journeys!" the young man says with a wave as he disembarks. Roj keeps his eyes and ears alert as he heads for the inn, hoping to get a room and hear some gossip before deciding his next move.

    When entering you see that a this time of the day only a few people are inside. The interior ressemble any other the inn in the world if perhaps slightly cleaner the only feature of not is a big turtle sheel stick to the far wall.
    The inkeeper is behind the bar and looking at you curiously, a couple of armed dwarf are sitting at a table talking in a low voice and a lone elf woman wearing a mage robe is in a corner apparently studying her speelbook.

    The dwarf gave a short laugh at your joke and the elf ignore it completely. The patron arrive at your table. "Hello sir, I can propose you a piece of roast pork accompaign by carrot and bean. Will that do ? Perhaps a beer also ?"

    "Very well sir, your meal will arrive shortly, and I will bring your beer immediatly" He dirige himself toward the door leading to the kitchen and give a short order before returning to the bar and taking the beer.
    He return to your table to deposit the beer. "Here you are sir." before continuing toward the dwarf table. The dwarf raise their chop toward you with a friendly smile.

I'm Roj, by the way," he says with a broad smile. "Just came aport. Maybe you could give me a tour of the town later, and help acclimate me to the area?"

    That's ok. Sorry I didn't respond all day yesterday. It was a CRAZY day. My son's been sick and he started off staying home from school but then decided he was okay enough to go after all -- probably had something to do with us telling him that if he didn't go to school Friday, he wouldn't get a birthday party this weekend.

    Heh. I'm good at that. If given free rein, I'll run all over the place and take all sorts of unexpected turns -- and I'm a very creative thinker when it comes to solutions to problems. One of my favorite characters ever was a gnome illusionist that would stick big glowing signs above the bad guys to let folks know whom to shoot at and target. Then I created a massive illusion of a giant version of the character and had flying wizards in the illusory hands and we beat around an attacking force that wanted our keep. Much fun was had by all.
    'Sides what better way to find out about the town than from someone who's probably lived there her whole life?
    I'll talk up the dwarves in a bit to get their perspective on the town and things.
    As long as the elf remains aloof, I'll leave her alone. Until I get bored, anyway.

    Shortly after that the two dwarfs get up from their table and approch you. The first one adresse you."Thanks for the beer it was nice of you here's alittle advice to show our gratitude. The captain of the guard doesn't like stranger, if you encounter him and he make you some problem tell him that your a friend of Daron and Trenn. He should leave you alone after that. We're generaly here around four in the afternoon you're welcome at our table if you want. Good bye" His companion give you a short nod and both march to the door without waiting for a response.

    "You're most welcome and thanks again!" Roj says as Erina heads back to the kitchen. He watches her walk away from over the rim of his beer.

    When the dwarves approach, Roj gives them his full attention, especially with Erina no longer visible. "Daron and Trenn. Thank you gents. That's good information! Happy to join you!" the young man says to the dwarves as they depart.

    And I certainly don't need trouble with local authorities. That was a stroke of good fortune! he muses to himself as he takes another long pull of his beer. He finishes his meal quickly, relishing the fresh flavors dancing on his palate after six days of smoked fish and beef jerky.

    Roj stands and takes a quick glance at the studious elf as he picks his gear up from beside his table, just to see if she were still occupied.

    You find the room without any problem, the key is in the lock of the solid wooden door. Inside you find on the right a confortable looking bed and a small table with a candle. Opposite to you is a window overlooking the port and on your left is an wooden cupboard.

    Possible over-technical/rampant paranoia time :
    Is the door a push or a pull from the inside? I assume it would open inward.
    Is the window a sliding pane to open? Does it have a lock? Blinds/Shades/Shutters for it?
    Is there a chair in the room? I think the small table is something akin to a nightstand?
    Anything in/on/under the cupboard?
    Anything under the bed?

    The door open inward. The window is in two part that open inward too, sorry don't know the technical term in english (can't even remember the term in french) I hope it's clear. It has a small lock and a curtain can be slide from the side in front of the window.
    They're one chair in the left corner, the small table serve as a nightstand. Nothing in or under the cupboard, but you find a chamber pot inside.
    And only dust under the bed.

    After his inspection, Roj moves his things to the bed and sets the chair's back under the doorknob as a makeshift doorjam. He checks out the window to see what is behind and beneath his room before pulling a book from his pack and sitting on the floor near the window to catch the day's last rays and reading.

    He is reading the book I got as a masterwork tool for Knowledge (the Planes) - Syfal's Treatise on the Beyond.
