Re: Stickworld God Count
Hel, Northern Goddess of the dead was in #737. Although that is a bit of a grey area, as she isn't really worshipped.
...And that is how I met your father.

Re: Stickworld God Count
There are also Elven Gods. Specific names are unknown, but they are referred to on a few occasions (notably in Start of Darkness, where some evil gods argued that the Dark One should be given a chance as a god because the gods accepted the Elven Gods when they ascended), and in the plural, so there's more than one.

Well he has an established gender, so that's a step ahead of Varsuvius.

Re: Stickworld God Count
Western - Isthar.
Surtur shouldn't count because A.) He's lacking distinct qualities of the OOTS gods (namely, a full body aura, a godly quality established early in the series) and B.) Surtur was of the jotunn. In the OOTSiverse, he's probably just an epic-level, unique Giant.
And maybe the chief dieties (Odin, Dragon, Marduk, Zeus) can get some recognition by bolding their names or something.Last edited by Gift Jeraff; 2010-08-30 at 07:25 PM.

Re: Stickworld God Count
Yeah...I'm not sure if he's really a god. I mean, here, he's established as some kind of monster.

Re: Stickworld God Count
The fertility goddess referred to in the north pantheon should be Freya, so you loose one there.
There aren't really any exclusive or original ideas on TVTropes. That's kind of the point.

Re: Stickworld God Count
Looking at other Norse fertility goddesses, it could be Gefjon.* Frigg would be...gross...Unless there's some story you're referring to. (EDIT: Number of Character Appearances thread says the goddess in #274 and SoD is Freya. Dunno if that's 100% certain.)
Also, Sif was mentioned. There is also 1 more unidentified Northern goddess in #73 and 2 more Northern gods in SoD.
*Gefjon is also a virginity goddess according to Wikipedia, and the joke works better if Thor impregnated a virginity goddess.Last edited by Gift Jeraff; 2010-08-31 at 11:24 AM.

Re: Stickworld God Count
I'm sorry I missed Pan da' man (DON!).
About the fertility goddess thing, I'll just go with Gift Jeraff's suggestion and call her Gefjon until the Giant says otherwise.Last edited by Cybertoy00; 2010-08-31 at 05:46 PM.

Re: Stickworld God Count
Rich uses real-world Babylonian/Mesopotamian mythology as a basis for the gods of the West. Hextor was created as a D&D god, so that wouldn't really work out that well.
