Wizard 13 vs. Fighter 20, fight one.
Yukitsu, Wizard vs. Godna, Fighter
As soon as you decided that your buff routines were finished, you found yourself suddenly and mysteriously teleported to a location you somehow know is destined to be your battlefield.
You may roll initiative.
Unless rolls have to be for me only, I suggest you do so out in the open. Better show that way.
Map:
SpoilerAs I said, you meet in the parking lot. You are outdoors.
The pink cars are 4' tall, the blue ones are 7' tall vans. The white markings are just for show.
For Yukitsu's eyes only (that is, shoo, no Godnas allowed):
SpoilerYou are located at B3 on the ground, your Simulacrum is standing next to you, on C3.
You see no trace of your opposition.
For Godna only:
SpoilerYou are located at V19:W20.
A black, hooded figure is standing at C3.

(d20+13)[33] for initiatives.
Active spotting from quick reconnoitiour, though I haven't much hope for that. (d20+7)[14]
Initiative for the solar (d20+9)[19]
It has see invisibility and true sight, so no issues there.
Looks like you're up.Last edited by Yukitsu; 2009-10-28 at 11:50 AM.
Me: I'd get the paladin to help, but we might end up with a kid that believes in fairy tales.
DM: aye, and it's not like she's been saved by a mysterious little girl and a band of real live puppets from a bad man and worse step-sister to go live with the faries in the happy land.
Me: Yeah, a knight in shining armour might just bring her over the edge.

Re: Wizard 13 vs. Fighter 20, fight one.
How did you get a solar i thought we weren't allowed to have allies? Otherwise i'd have hired a 15 bard band to serenade my death.
Where is the solar?

Re: Wizard 13 vs. Fighter 20, fight one.
You can make a spot check on it if you'd like, which should clear up some of the confusion. I don't know if you'd have line of sight to it, what with the vans about.

Re: Wizard 13 vs. Fighter 20, fight one.
Yup, the Fighter is up. And he really should roll a spot check.
In any case, you definitely see:
SpoilerAnother creature, not quite as tall, standing next to the hooded one on B3. That one is shifting and flipping around, making it seem as there are multiple identical people around. You do not recognize what is causing this.
You see nothing so far.
The Solar does not seem to have seen anyone either.Last edited by Ernir; 2009-10-28 at 12:21 PM.

Sweet yet again a natural 20 when its not needed
I can see which is the real one because of pierce magical concealment

You see that the solar is kind of lumpy, made of snow and not all that well put together.

Re: Wizard 13 vs. Fighter 20, fight one.
You come to the conclusion that the hooded creature is not a Wizard, it is not a Solar, but a fake Solar.
Yukitsu is up.
The Solar may make a spot check.
For Godna:
SpoilerI ninja-edited the last post to account for the Mirror Images. Since you have Pierce Magical Concealment, you recognize which of the shifting people is the real person.

Re: Wizard 13 vs. Fighter 20, fight one.
Since neither of us can see him, I'm going to spiral up 120 feet, and have the solar stay just under me at 100. Since we have to move at an angle, we're heading to M11, which should cover all of the spots out there.
As an aside, if he's using blur or something to make hide checks, true sight negates it, so there should be no problems spotting him from up here.Last edited by Yukitsu; 2009-10-28 at 12:44 PM.

Also, you suddenly find your Contingency activate, and you are hovering 400 feet above your previous location when your turn begins.Removed due to recalculations.
Your Solar is left on the ground, of course.Last edited by Ernir; 2009-10-28 at 01:08 PM.

Re: Wizard 13 vs. Fighter 20, fight one.
I have my solar walk to I 4, and cast invisibility purge.
I will cast true casting, then waves of exhaustion hitting I7, but not my solar.
(d20+25)[38] for SR.
That bypasses anything not epic. Exhausted, no save.Last edited by Yukitsu; 2009-10-28 at 12:58 PM.

Re: Wizard 13 vs. Fighter 20, fight one.
The Solar walks to I4, casts his spell, and, far below you you see a man holding a spiked chain materialize on I7.
Where did you get your extra standard from, again? You sold the belt of battle.
Also, you are 400 feet in the air, the range on WoE is 60'. Are you fast enough?Nevermind, did it again too.Last edited by Ernir; 2009-10-28 at 01:06 PM.

Re: Wizard 13 vs. Fighter 20, fight one.
Edit: Apparantly unecessary.
Unedit: I get extra actions from travel devotion. I may be mixing that up with something, as I really am, very, very tired.
Edit: Yeah, I am too tired. Never mind the true casting this round, so penetration of 28. I'll use the swift move to get to the A1 corner, then my normal move to start flying upward. I'll get to the A1 corner, 120 feet up.Last edited by Yukitsu; 2009-10-28 at 01:17 PM.

Re: Wizard 13 vs. Fighter 20, fight one.
Thanks to quick reconnoiter, I have (d20+9)[15] as my normal reactive spot (forgot a buff last time) and another as a free action (d20+9)[25].
Doesn't stop me from using my AoE though.Me: I'd get the paladin to help, but we might end up with a kid that believes in fairy tales.

Re: Wizard 13 vs. Fighter 20, fight one.
Travel Devotion only allows you to move your speed as a swift action, not take an extra standard action.
And yes, you are on the ground, and as far as I can tell.
Godna, the Solar has True Seeing. The blink "concealment" is due to you popping onto the ethereal plane, and it sees you just fine there too.
But there is a 20% chance that the Invisibility Purge doesn't work, 20 or below and it fails: chance of IP not working - (1d100)[68]

Re: Wizard 13 vs. Fighter 20, fight one.
So as a turn recap, my solar can see him, since his whatever doesn't let him hide when true sight is up, his invisibility was purged by the solar, and he was then hit by a wave of exhaustion. Don't know if it bypassed SR. I then moved to A1, 120 feet up.
