No OOTS ornaments this year?

He has a big piece of merchandise coming up soon, and stills needs to work on his comic, why would he take the time to do some ornaments?

I've been wondering the same thing. I have an order sitting in my shopping cart at Cafe Press, waiting to see if an ornament appears before I pay.

Looking back over the old News posts, last year's wasn't announced until December 3rd, so I'll wait a bit longer.

As it seems by now, we can be happy we even have comics. We also get a new book for christmas. So ornaments of some (any) sort would seem like overkill.

Still, that is the point of publishing the book in the end, isn't it? I find it funny how everyone flips out when someone mentions that the giant makes money off the comic. So, uh, yeah, that's how he's able to do the comic full time..

Just a presumption on my part, but... if the updates on his comic take a lot of his time already, why should Rich Burlew design holiday ornaments? I am not very knowledgable about Rich Burlew's merchandice, but at this point, I doubt that there will be new ornaments this year.

Has that been canceled? I recall hearing that there would be a new one with orders of $50 or more, but I haven't heard anything since the announcement of the book.

Cause he's done them for the last 3-4 years. Same design goes on things like T-shirts, cards, magnets etc.

Rich might still be working on more stuff, though, since we don't have an announcement yet. It just sort of appeared while I was shopping.

Wow, there's been some new stuff added since I last checked. It must be pretty recent, since the OotS mugs and waterbottles have all of the outfit updates.

I think drinking coffee out of a Xykon mug would make that coffee all the more awesome...

Do you know that for sure?
I mean, I bought the book, I won't buy the ornament. But this is a compilation book. It's already available online. It probably won't sell as well as the prequels.
The ornaments are collected since there is a different one every year, for a limited amount of time.

There could be more people buying the ornament than the book. We don't really know that. We don't know what gets him the most money, what sells the best, how much profit he makes on everything.

I highly doubt it's the last we'll see of the friendship. The Giant put way too much effort into it for him to drop. I'm sure it will come into play again eventually.
