Apparently not very many people here are familiar with MBD (AKA the "remember me? :D" guy from the Metroid: Other M trailer. ) It has achieved meme status, which brings with it, being the character in some bizarre videos as well as being shafted from SSBB despite being in the trailer.

I didn't draw it, I just screenshotted it and cropped it from the trailer. Sue me.

Knock them into the negatives, well, to zero (because it's non-lethal damage), then use a wish or miracle spell to keep it dead.

That's the main way, but I can think of three other methods to beat Big T, none of which involve any Wishes or Miracles.

I am going to guess that whatever the other ways are it is not killing the tarrasque as much as it is getting rid of it as here states that they can only be killed by the way you mentioned. Maybe an unlucky roll on a planeshift for the Tarra? However as this one is a spell caster they can get themselves back easily unless a person in the other plane casts dimensional anchor/lock on it or someone gives it feeblemind first so it can no longer cast and then planeshift it to another plane.

I haven't had a chance to play D&D before (sadly) so I would not be able to think of other ways to "beat" a Tarrasque without actually killing it.

I screen'd and cropp'd directly from the video, first panel was when MBD says "Remembah me?" and has his hand next to his helmet, 2nd is when MBD reveals his face (And in case you're wondering, no we don't remember him. )

And the other methods I can think of of downing the Tarrie are, as Darkblade mentioned, plane shift. Due to Spell Resistance, Gate may be your best bet here, take 'er to the Negative Energy Plane. It won't permanently kill her but she won't be making any moves anytime soon. Alternately, blast her into space. Unfortunately, Sir Issac Newton is the deadliest SOB in space. So if you send her flying, she keeps going until she hits something, for example, lands on an alien planet. She's immune to fire damage so atmospheric re-entry is no issue. Hope she flies into a black hole.

Alternatively, Comic 358 and Comic 359. Unfortunately the latter isn't finished yet.

Interesting... I will just assume that the Plasma blast weakened the integrity of the ice by the hole it caused and rapid temperature change and the force damage from the magic missile was used before the ice could cool down again from the plasma blast at the same area the plasma blast hit, causing cracks and further flaws in its integrity, which due to the weight of the building and the Tarry was enough to bring it down. Though I will admit that magic missile spell would have to be house-ruled to effect inanimate objects and be possibly more powerful then normal (1d4 +1 would probably not do that much damage but hey, your comic your rules).

Of course this is theory that might not even work in any realm of logic but still it is fun to theorize nonetheless.

very interesting comic. By far "Well That Was Unexpected" is one of my favorite fan comics on this forum.

Nice to see that Rand was smart enough to cast an illusion when the Tarry was distracted instead of relying on his team mates to much, which, of course would have ended in disaster as we saw in the previous strip.

However, one thing about it is that if I was the Tarrasque, as soon as Rand Plasma blast missed I would have hit him with another spell directly after and that would probably end up with Rand's plan falling apart. Though I guess I will admit, when nothing but a wish or miracle can kill you (and that only if you are already at a point where normal foes would be dead), one tends to be cocky enough in their own idea of invincibility that they can make such a miscalculation.

You're trying to apply logic to a world containing elements of Warhammer and DnD, both of which contain methods of making the laws of physics your <censored> (Psykers/Spellcasters)

Also: love this comic. The perspective/angle changes are a really amazing touch to the OoTS style.

so at this point how does Rand plan on keeping the tarry in the water? it can probably cast fly, and even if it can't the ice is probably thick enough for it to climb on. also, buying time against a tauresque is a bad idea, it heals and you don't. or is the plan to challange it into an air battle and then dispell the fly spell, and hope its cocky enough to not have feather fall?

Personally I thought he was going to become an iceberg the size of a mountain, to the extent that he couldn't even break it with his high strength. Oh well this works

Edit: Though that would take many cold spells. However as to my limited knowledge of D&D Tarries can't breath underwater does that mean he will keep repetitively "dieing" and regenerating before he can do anything to free himself?

Pretty much that. I look back at some of the older comics in complete revulsion. Though it might be my own art evolution.

To answer your question Memn, it's not Rand's effect, otherwise it would be blue. Basically, the spell prevents rapid depressurization that would occur otherwise if, say, you were in an airplane and the emergency door suddenly opened mid-flight. Don't forget this is the same ship that had a railgun shot through it.

Comic 362 is up. Panel 3 took a lot longer to make than it should have.
