Neverending Dungeon - Myrddin
The air surrounding you fairly hums with the residue of magic, an aftereffect of the spell that brought you to this place. A quick glance reveals that you are in a cramped, rectangular room, devoid of any life save for yourself. The sound of dripping water can be heard faintly, and the stone walls are slick with moisture. In complete defiance of logic, a torch is already lit, resting in a bracket by the sole door visible in the room.

There is a door at D-3, east side. Unless otherwise mentioned, all doors are sliding metal.

Re: Neverending Dungeon - Myrddin
Take the time needed to get psionic focus and poke the door with my 10 foot pole.
From there, I will grab a torch and open the door.

Re: Neverending Dungeon - Myrddin
When you poke the door, electricity flairs, and you can see the burnt out copper wires. Opening the door, you see that it leads to a North-south corridor running. It goes 20ft to the north, then turns west, and goes 40ft to the south before turning east.
Please tell me your standard searching procedure. He fears his fate too much, and his reward is small, who will not put it to the touch, to win or lose it all.

Re: Neverending Dungeon - Myrddin
I do not have trapfinding, but will a search enough to beat the DC still allow me to find the traps?
If yes, I will be taking 20 at every door, and every area of floor infront of the door.
Once we get into rooms I will specify when I'm searching.
I'll start off with taking 20 on the floor infront of the door I'm at, avoiding any traps if I find any and heading south to the split.

Re: Neverending Dungeon - Myrddin
Assuming at least a modifier of +0, taking 20 will allow you to find some traps, though as it takes 2 minutes, your torch will burn out faster. My bigger questions is how you're using your 10ft pole and such: ie, touching every square, hiting walls and celings, poking doors, that sort of thing.
Assumiing that you're taking 20 for the moment:
5ft down the southern part of the corridor, you encounter a tripwire, but manage to avoid it. At the Turn, the corridor goes 20ft east.He fears his fate too much, and his reward is small, who will not put it to the touch, to win or lose it all.

Re: Neverending Dungeon - Myrddin
Taking 20 on a search gives me a 26.
I'll be using the 10 foot pole held infront of me dragging along the ground, lifting it infront of every door. Although infront of doors I will be taking 20.
I assume this will set off traps in the hallways but I will be far away from the point of impact from darts or swinging blades.
I will go east.
Edit: If I can also get warning on when my torch is about to go out, I don't know the lifespan of torches.Last edited by Ekindu; 2009-11-20 at 02:59 PM.

Re: Neverending Dungeon - Myrddin
Sure. And there will be more torches. Hmmm...okay, I'm just going to skip ahead: this section just forms a loop, and you haven't found anything interesting, beyond a dart trap(you can add a dart to your inventory, if you like).

Re: Neverending Dungeon - Myrddin
Are there any doors or does this loop actually go no where?
If it goes no where I will trek back the where I started and head north

Re: Neverending Dungeon - Myrddin
it goes nowhere. After going north, and turning west, you have a choice. After 40ft there's a southward leading hallway. 10ft more, and there;s a northward one, and 10ft after that the hallway turns north.

Re: Neverending Dungeon - Myrddin
90ft down, you come across a branch to the west, but only 10ft after that is a branch to the east. Going that way, you go 10ft, then turn north, then you have a choice: 20ft ahead is an option to go east. 20ft beyond that is another option to go east.

I want to take the west turn, is that the path with the north turn? if yes, I'll take the first passage east.

It goes for 60ft, and ends in a door, plus turns north at the end.

Head towards the door! Doing a 20 on the floor infront and the door itself, and then a listen check afterwards.

You see a man reading a scroll with robes and a gold/silver diadem. His eyes glow blue, and he quirks and eyebrow as you enter, then says a few arcane words. the scroll glows for a second.

5 hp left
Two happenings here.
Does Psions Force Shield work the same as the spell Shield? As in, blocks Magic Missles?
If yes, I cast Force Shield.
If no, I'll use my focus to shoot a Psionic Shot.
I'll wait for your reply before I do the roll.
