[NEXUS] Clearing in the Countryside II

[UncleWolf]

Waterstrider looks at her, concerned and sad, but leans over to nuzzle her neck gently. "It's only a bad thing if you let it be one." He whispers to her.

[Gullara]

"Th- but..." Renetta can barely choke her words out. "O-one of those monsters is the father." She buries her face in his fur once again.

[UncleWolf]

He sets a paw on the back of her head to hold her close. "No, none of them are. Not in any way that matters." He tells her. It's obvious he's wanting to say something else, but bites his tongue for the moment.

[Gullara]

She cries for a a little bit longer, but eventually she does stop. "Th- thank you, Waterstrider." She pulls away a little bit to look in his eyes. "Thank you so much."

[UncleWolf]

Waterstrider looks at her, still concerned, but the look is softer this time around. For a moment, an expression of uncertainty crosses his features, trying to decide something. "If...I...I could help raise the child if you wish. You shouldn't have to do it alone."

[Gullara]

Renetta blinks in surprise. "You- you would do that for me?" She swallows, unsure how react, though grateful that he would offer something like that. "I couldn't ask you to do that for me."

[UncleWolf]

"You don't have to." He tells her quietly. "You need someone to stay with you until it's all over anyways. And we at least know each other somewhat. Maybe not the best prospect around, but..." He looks away from her eyes. "But I'm willing to try at least."

[Gullara]

Renetta doesn't know what to say. She shifts closer to kiss him on the cheek, and tries to pull him into a close embrace. "Thank you."

[UncleWolf]

Waterstrider wiggles a bit to make the both of them somewhat more comfortable, accepting the embrace. "You don't deserve to be alone in this, especially now." He tells her. "It's nothing." he then gives her a slight smile. "Gives us both reasons to recover."

[Gullara]

She smiles back at him and just lies in his embrace. Her mind is too active to allow sleep however, despite her weariness.

[UncleWolf]

That, and they had just woken up.

"Is there something you want me to do for you?" He asks after a while, blunted claws stroking her to help her relax.

[Shadowcaller]

Waterstide and Renetta won't be able to hear the door to the cabin being opened despite the creaking noises it should be making.
They will be able to hear a hoarse but distinctively female voice call out for them however. "I come in peace. You don't need to be afraid."

[Gullara]

Renetta shakes her head. "I'm okay for n-" She looks up suddenly at the sound of a new voice. She sits up, fear obvious in her eyes.

[UncleWolf]

Waterstrider stiffens at the new voice, and bares his fangs a bit when he sees Renetta's fear. He quietly slips from the bed to stand near the doorway, still clothed in just bandages and the robe tied around his waist. "What do you want?" He growls.

[Shadowcaller]

"I live here." The voice states, Waterstride will be able to get a glimpse of a dark skinned elven woman outside dressed in atypical ranger gear just outside. "Or lived. Do you need assistance?"

[Gullara]

Renetta peeks fearfully from out behind Waterstrider. She herself is only wearing a bathrobe. She's far from trusting as of yet.

[UncleWolf]

Waterstrider grabs a nearby paperweight from a desk and grips it in his paw, a crude weapon if he needs it. "How do we know?"

[Shadowcaller]

"You don't. I don't leave tracks." The elven woman replies. "Unless you like me to describe it."

She pauses a bit before she adds, "Can come back later." Waterstider can see her shrugging.

[Gullara]

Well, she doesn't seem hostile. Renetta calms a bit, but doesn't say anything yet. She'll leave it to Waterstrider.

"It'd be easier, if you gave us a few moments to get dressed." Waterstrider says.

(It's a bit confusing, but she's looking into the bedroom doorway, right? Because the door opened, so she can't be looking in from the window. That, and it's BR who lives in the Cabin. While Michicora could have stayed there a bit I think, it's not hers.)

[Shadowcaller]

"It'd be easier, if you gave us a few moments to get dressed." Waterstrider says.

((Note she never claimed it was her's, Michicora can hardly build a cabin on her own. She's a ranger, she can build a temporary wind shelter but an entire house is beyond her capabilities.
I'm not sure how the cabin is constructed so I can't be sure what she can and can't see in it but for all I know she can only see into the entry hall. She knew a wolfen and a elf was here though, she can see their tracks and have been here enough to see if someone entered the cabin.))

"As you wish."
The elf step backwards and basically disappears completely out of sight.

[Gullara]

"Do you think we can trust her?" Renetta asks in a low voice. She's clutching her arms around her stomach, and generally looking like she's trying to be small.

[UncleWolf]

"We only have one way to tell..." Waterstrider admits before shutting the bedroom door and heading to the closet to grab some clothes. He'll pass some that looks like it might fit to Renetta before changing into some of his own. He'll keep his back turned to her to afford her some privacy at least.

[Gullara]

Renetta nods and sets about changing. She grateful for him turning his back. She finishes quickly and hesitantly looks back to see if he's done.

[UncleWolf]

He's dressed in a pair of pants, but nothing else. She'll see him just in time for him to tear a hole in the back for his tail, grumbling as he does so. He gives her a look over. "Are you ready?"

[Gullara]

Renetta on the other hand is wearing a simple, yellow dress. She goes over to the wardrobe and grabs a thin, green jacket and puts it on over top. "Okay, let's go."

For SC's benefit since I settled on an appearance.

[UncleWolf]

The Wolfen gives her a gentle hug. "If it's not safe, run, please. As far and fast as possible. I promise I'll catch up." He lies.

[Gullara]

Renetta gives him a small nod. "Okay."

They will then leave the bedroom to see the elf. In all likelihood she stands a bit behind Waterstrider.

[Shadowcaller]

The elf stands a fair a bit away from the cabin out in the open, she eyes them, one of her long elegant eyebrows quirking slightly.
They might notice she's armed to the teeth but have none of her weapons at hands at the moment. Something about her suggests that that if she wanted, that could quickly change however.

"I'm Michicora, you are?"

Waterstrider is a tan wolfen, blue chevrons dyed into his fur on his chest and back. He's armed with only his fangs, and dulled claws, and has a few bandages covering his body. "Waterstrider, and this is Renetta."
