[Acro] GLoG 48: From the Ashes

"Ah, good." Says Susan, before passing out. She /really/ shouldn't have been up.

Susan is taken into the Infirmary, where she is stripped out of her clothes and laid onto a comfortable bed.

The outside of the infirmary looks just like all the rest of the buildings. Nothing distinguishes it at all.

But inside, everything is white, with silver highlighting. Even though it doesn't seem possible, when looking from outside, sunlight filters inside. Giving the place a warm feeling with natural light.

A soft, soothing music filters through the whole building and words can barely be heard saying words of healing and comfort, like: "You are going to be okay." "We'll take care of you." "You are dear to us." and so on.

Each room is walled off for a limited amount of privacy, because the pixies know that humans seem to need this. Strange. But it is limited. There are no doors.

Except the angles are more severe, so that people on the other side of the hall can't see into anyone's room. Only someone intentionally looking in, can see you.

He says the last part with much venom.

Fan hates people who judge others based on their race (in the DnD sense.), a lot. In fact, those people actually did kill his first wife, and child. Key part of his backstory, and why he was evil for a long time.

"No, you are not them. That, along with the fact that I have seen you save another life, is why we are fighting with words instead of weapons, fists, and magic. I merely wish for you to acknowledge that my wariness is not entirely unmerited."

"A Holy Water Cannon," Crissy says after a moment's mental perusal of Erin's product catalogue. "You can hook it up to any size water tank and spray them for both impact and holy damage."

"But don't we risk the water freezing and rendering the weapons unusable in this cold weather?"

Susan's too unconcious to do anything about this, so she is lain on the bed, presumably still tiny. There's a flesh graft on her arm and her leg, her arm looks like it had a chunk of flesh torn out from the side, whereas her leg just had a hole through it. They've been stitched up expertly and it looks like there'll only be minimal scarring.

"Oh." Crissy blushes. "Um...holy antifreeze?"

She deadtimes on this thought.

Too bad none of the current pixies are healers. Maybe GLoG has one hidden somewhere. Jahleen goes to find one.

The shrinkage should start to wear-off soon.

"Think what you will. I don't banter with bigots."

He walks off, suitably pissed, what he just did was the equivalent to blaming a German for the Holocaust, or a African American for Gang violence.

Totally, and completely uncalled for.

He is then pulled aside by Jahleen, having been a Doctor at GLoG for quite some time, and them man who had operated previously on the woman, it is the best medical choice, because he knows what drugs, and medications she's had recently.

The shrinking does indeed wear off, and shortly afterwards Susan awakes yet again in a bed she's never seen before.

She looks around the building, as her brain fills her in on what's happened.

"Looks nice." She says.

Jahleen does indeed lead Fan to the infirmary. She's over here. Can you help her?

The pixies will watch Fan work, as their player DEADTIMES.

Susan's lying in the bed, looking up at the ceiling.

She figured that fainting was probably a good reason to stay in bed.

[Fan]

Fan moves closer, having sanitized himself prior, unlike many other doctors at GLoG he kept a modicum of medical procedure in mind.

Thus, clip board in hand, he moves forward, sitting in a near by chair as he says.

"Okay now. Tell me if your felt any light headedness, or if you seem to have a fluttery feeling in your chest."

He is but a man, prone to the folly of mortal ways!

"Some ghosts got re-killed, and one lady got hurt, but I think she's going to be okay."

"Good. Do you have anything more proactive? Weapons that could be operated remotely?"

"Oh... well... I guess that isn't as bad as it could have been at least," Avatar sighs as he backs up to the lake, brandishing his tail at it. And then with a single sweep of its scintillating prismatic tip he sends a wide swath of shimmering color arcing from the shore to a little island out in the middle.

It's a bridge!

"I dunno what the name of the island is, but it's really neat over there!"

"I was very light-headed." She says. "In fact, I still am, although it's better now that I'm not moving. I didn't notice any feelings in my chest, but it doesn't mean they weren't there."

[Fan]

"Okay then. I'm going to give you a blood transfusion, and set you up on some iron pills. Given what just happened, I'd say you have a low platelet count, and your going to need to avoid strenuous activity."

He says, writing down her symptoms on the clip board in red pen, before moving over to the amply stocked blood fridge, taking out a double unit, and setting it up on the IV next to her.

"Now, this may sting a little."

He says, not needing to use silly machines to find a vein being a vampire, he can see it, and simply sticks it in after sterilizing the area around it with some rubbing alcohol.

Susan bites down when Fan sticks the needle into her vein, but aside from that there's no reaction to the pain.

"Thanks for stitching me up." She says. "You've been great."

[Fan]

"Just doing my job Susan."

He says, writing something down on a prescription pad, and handing her the official perscription for the Iron Pills. He then seems to move a little in the chair, and he hands her a bottle of Iron pills that he didn't have in his hands before.

"Take 2 of these a day during meals, and drink plenty of water. Now, I'm off to the City, to go and find myself a theruge. Because, oddly as it may seem, I've got a medical problem of my own that I cant quite fix with some pills. Oh, and here's my contact number in case you start feeling dizzy again, that may be a sign of further, and more serious complications."

He writes a number down, and hands it to her, again on the small note style perscription pads.

Then taking off the Stethoscope he had around his neck, he changes back into his coat, and heads to INSIDE.

"Thanks." She says, taking the pills, the prescription, and his number. "Good luck with your problem, and I hope that they can fix whatever problem you happen to have." She relaxes back into her bed a bit more.

Fan speaketh the truth, there have been many people who've attempted his murder in the past, you can ask them how hard he is to kill.

Susan wakes up from a nightmare, and looks around the infirmary, startled.

"Really? Let's go, then!" Nimai runs across the bridge.

"I don't like it," One of the ghosts near Anshu says. "What if the salt kills the rhododendrons?"

"The plants can be moved, if necessary, or even replanted. The protection of the people here is a higher priority."

Reasoning with ghosts is rarely a fruitful use of time.

Back at the shore of the lake Avatar flashes that foxy grin of his before bounding off after the girl. Rather nice that they have the bridge, really. No doubt the water is dreadfully cold given the time of year. Cold enough to freeze someone to death in no time flat.

Better not fall in!

In no time at all the pair will reach the island, leaving little prismatic foot-prints in their wake for the first few minutes. There's even still shimmering 'paint' dripping off the fox's tail after so recent of use. But no doubt it'll dry after a little while.

Nimai looks around at the terrain.

Generally sandy with more than a few alder trees quite happy to take advantage of the water. Everything is powdered with a light application of snow, disturbed by only the occasional bird footprints. Isn't exactly the sort of place large animals come to.

The place is largely wooded with the occasional granite boulder sticking out of the snow, strange swirling petroglyphs etched into them. And in the middle of the island is a structure of decent size. A low, squat building of stacked stones. Looks to be a crypt of some kind.

Charity is painting. Not the building itself, which is made of stone, but the various wooden bits like doors and window frames.

She seems to be hungover. Again.

Ashna is going back and forth carrying mattresses and so on out to the farther cabins.
She glares momentarily at Charity when she sees her painting. While Ashna was picking things up from the lodge.

"Huh? I'm just painting. You don't like the colour? I just figured I'd go with something that would blend with the stone finish." Charity says, now utterly confused.

No, painting is fine. It was something a while back, but I just realized I'd do the same if I were you. 'Kay?
