Phoenix enters the main lodge at a not-really-a-run.
"Okay, I'm here. What's the emergency?"
He looks around, taking in the distinct lack of destruction and chaos.

Deadtimed dinner can be retrieved by the diner. *nodnod*

But either way, Brendan's here now and undeadtimed with a nice breakfast spread for himself and Ashna. Although the toast is rather black and the hash browns rather crispy...

And looking at Phoenix weirdly. "...you'd be the smoke alarm, then."

[Recaiden]

Fine.
Ashna is eating the slightly burnt breakfast Avoiding the hash browns, since she's never seen or heard of potatoes.
Why were you the one cooking again?

[Ashen Lilies]

The joke is met with an uncharacteristic:
"I'm assuming there is no emergency."
He grips his GLoG phone tightly.

[The Bushranger]

"Other than my cooking being banned in three states, no?" Brendan replies, his expression being rather for a moment before looking back at Ashna and settling in to pour two cups of coffee.

That, he can cook.

"I thought I'd give it another try so there'd be something waiting when you got back," he says with a smile...and trying to filch the apparently unwanted hash browns...

[Recaiden]

Too bad she doesn't drink coffee.
No, why would there be an emergency? Ashna asks, also confused.

It's getting better. Thank you. But what are those? she asks Brendan, pointing out the hash browns.

[Ashen Lilies]

Gee, Brendan sure knows how to make a tortured soul feel better. That's first class empathy right there.
"I think we need a new mainframe. One that isn't tied to the whims of a cold-hearted murderer."
He sighs, looking at the phone in his hand angrily.
"Magtok..."
He holds the phone up and nearly crushes it, but let's his hand fall back to his side. He gives Ahsna and Brendan a nod.
"Enjoy your breakfast. I've got to go save someone. Hopefully I'm not too late."
He gives them a falsely cheery smile, pockets the phone, and is out the door.

No coffee?...it's a good thing it's Brendan and not BR here, then.

"Hashed potatoes," Brendan explains with a smile. "Slightly...ah, overdone, but absolutely delicious, especially with ketchup."

Next he'll learn they don't have tomatoes where Ashna's from either, of course.


As for Phoenix, well, that's how Brendan tries cheering up. By being punny...especially when he hasn't had his coffee yet.
"Er, good luck?" he calls after Phoenix, his mind starting to turn over the possibilites of rocket boots.

Of course, he's probably going to ninja this as well, forcing me to put some IC stuff in here. Or something.

That's absurd. Of course they have tomatoes.

Anyway, Magtok's probably killed Sunny for the fun of it or burned down Inside for insurance money or something, we'd better go help this guy, hadn't we?
Though he doesn't seem to want it.

About the mainframe, I hear we recently salvaged a Hive Engine's mind from the Wastes back home. Could be a good replacement if they figure out how to copy one. Which they're unlikely to ever do.
((Recaiden would just slow down the rescue to have a character involved right now.))

Brendan nearly breaks his coffee mug at Ashna's suggestion, but nods, setting it down slowly. "We probably should...I'll explain about the po-tat-oes and po-tot-oes later, then? Assuming help is wanted..."

((BR has half-an-hour left now before he has to go get an oil change... >_>))

Which suggestion? About Sunny possibly being dead or killing and replacing Mainframe?

Right. I don't think it is, is what I'm saying... He looks capable enough.
((Uncharacteristic not-wanting-to-go-stop-Magtok due to Recaiden deadtiming now. Goodbye.))

"I'm not talking about Sunny, I'm talking about Reinholdt."
There. No one but Phoenix would want to rescue Reinholdt! Problem solved!

Okay, he's just... Er... 'Borrowing' someone elses horse, preparing it and stuff. Probably Khiansa's, because then it isn't godmodding. Or maybe he does have a horse here, and didn't take it with him, when he went to the Citadel that time. Who knows.
Point is, he's saddling a horse.
And since the pair both deadtimed... He rides off!

Sunny. I don't think Brendan encountered Mainframe.

"Oh. Well, good then..." Brendan scrunches his brows at somebody wanting to go save the apocakitteh. Unlike some people, he doesn't believe everybody is redeemable. Just most people.

And so he settles in to eat as he deadtimes as well.

I... actually didn't know that. Although I'm pretty good at Martial Arts, my style's what's been called the Lunar Hero style, and that comes naturally to us.

I've been thinking of learning another style, but I'm not sure which one to go for.

She shrugs. In any case, neither of those is much of a problem.

Fasting? Meh. She's gone without food before.

Also, Merrick is outside, moving around the perimeter of the premises of GLoG.

Merrick may notice a trail of ectoplasm leading into the woods around the campground.

Merrick, frowning, starts to follow it.

Almost immediately after entering the woods, the trail goes off anything that might resemble a path. It may be rather difficult to follow, and there's no telling where it leads to.

Hmmm...

Merrick isn't really the best person for this...

Perhaps he isn't. The question is; having realized that, what will he do about it.

A woman with long brown hair with feathers and beads in her hair, and emerald green eyes, is sprinting through the forest barefoot, even through the snow.

She seems to be looking for something, glancing at everything that moves, running through the forest.

Some deer ran past here, did you see them? she asks, pointing at the scant and almost indistinguishable deer tracks that she was following, which disappear every so often. Also, have you seen my brother, either? She stops running, standing in the snow, barefoot still.
