And, since Rachel is starting to get fussy again, she shifts her positions so she can play with Kristin's hair again, pulling on it...ouch!

Brianna smiles. It's quite different from my home... but I like it anyway.

Oh? Where...where... Ouch, again. Okay, that's enough.

Kristin sets Rachel down on the ground.

What was your home like? she finally asks.

My home's Ireland. The open fields, the people there.

The whiskey.

She grins. It's always going to be home, no matter how far afield I go.

Ireland... She thinks, scrunching up her face. She's never heard of it. Not surprising, though, what with memory loss.

Rachel starts walking around Kristin, holding onto her leg as she goes around it. She also goes "La la la la"

It's not in this world, so I'm not surprised you haven't heard of it.

I don't know. I might have heard of it, I just...don't...know, she says. Then, she shakes her head. Maybe that will bring her memories back.

Or, maybe her memories leaked out into the lake, and are now swimming around in it with the fishies.


Regardless of what happened to her mother's memories, Rachel stops going around her mommy's legs, and starts walking away, flapping her wings, still La-la-ing

Yamako wakes up from unconsciousness in her room. what had happened? not really wanting to think about that, she sets to building more parts of the computer.

Toby returns and tries to get back into the infirmary.

As does Magtok, with a number of cameras, wires, batteries, and miscellaneous electronic equipment he intends to set up around the Infirmary. He taps his foot anxiously, vaguely remembering some sort of deadtimed doorman who's supposed to stop folks like him from stepping in and doing as he pleases. A look is shot towards the other guy's way, as he struggles to keep all of those cables and cords from falling out of his arms.

Oh hey. You're that Quinn's spouse guy, right?

Toby raises an eyebrow at Magtok and looks at all the equipment curiously. I am. What are you doing?

[Lord Magtok]

Thinking about talking them into setting up some surveillance stuff 'round here, like with their old base. Was going to ask earlier, before their leader was decapitated in her sleep by a coward.

Magtok sighs, and awkwardly shifts some of the weight to his left arm, causing a wire to fall and dangle from the heap of equipment.

Probably could've prevented the whole stupid mess if I had, and then we wouldn't be waiting for a cleric to pop up and resurrect her, and whatever else went wrong because of that.

Ah, well put that stuff on this table here and, I guess you'd have to talk to the guy in charge before you put anything up... He sighs, nodding sympathetically.

Magtok does so, dropping a few things onto the floor in the process, which are then tossed back into the messy pile. He's clearly not too concerned about the physical condition of the stuff, if his careless behavior with it is any indication. A rough steel hand picks up one of the cameras, and turns a knob to test a variety of optic settings.

Heh. I have to negotiate with the former vice president who openly despises me, who abandoned us all to hide in HALO when those catpeople attacked, and who has consistently proven to be utterly worthless and incapable of-

He twists the knob just a bit too far, and it snaps right off. The tin man shakes his head, and tosses the broken camera into a garbage bin.

It's not right. I mean, the guy doesn't even believe in redemption, he doesn't give a damn about my sort like Happy, Nil, and the founders did, why's he in charge? And what gives a freaking super-speedy Superman with everything handed into his lap the right to judge anyone?

Toby looks surprised. A guy like that is in charge here? That's just not right... What'd he do, pull a coup?

[Lord Magtok]

Magtok shakes his head.

That was my first theory. Unfortunately, the murderer and the person who hired her had entirely unrelated motives. The president dying was just a convenient coincidence, and with her out of the way, with the way the system's designed, he's in charge.

The Druid scowls angrily. So when I asked him about redemption programs... I knew there was something off. He looks at Magtok curiously. So what are you planning?

[Lord Magtok]

Magtok pauses. Shoot, he's supposed to have some sort of plan, isn't he? Quick, Mag! Make something up and try to sound convincing!

Well, I can't kill him and have the next person take charge. That'd just look evil, and accomplish nothing, and I don't even remember who's next on the list. I tried rallying the GLoG members against a person like that once during election time, but it didn't work 'cause they're all mostly good or neutral and such.

I'm thinking...becoming a member, maybe. Relapse into evil just a little, blame a lack of support, call for new elections, and double-check the term lengths. Maybe if Happy can get resurrected soon-ish, she can scold him for it and get things changed.

Or, you can tell me what you think I'm doing wrong. To my face, maybe?

Since Daisuke was in the infirmary all this time, and horngeek would rather chew on bricks than have a character of his the target of slander like this.

I was there during the invasion, just stuck in deadtime.

And I need proof someone wants to be redeemed, but once they do try, I'll help the best I can.

Toby is starting to hope that one of those cameras is on and recording all this... Then sees Daisuke standing there and allows himself to smile.

Daisuke turns to Magtok. If you want to become a member again... well, the evidence shows you've redeemed, so I have no objections.

[Lord Magtok]

Magtok is visibly startled by the sudden appearance of Daisuke, but tries to pass it off as him shrugging his shoulders, and smiles maliciously.

Not today, Dai. But I do have some issues I'd like to bring up anyways, since you've asked me to.

There's no redemption programs. I've seen nothing but mistrust and suspicion even when we've been on the same team, which is why I can't even hang around here for more than a few minutes at a time, for fear of some confrontation.

And speaking of being on the same team, did you happen to notice anything that happened down by PEACE? I didn't see you there. I didn't see you when we took down Calublufiok's phylactery, I saw no sign of your silly anime hair when Reinholdt Prime killed me, I haven't-

Magtok looks left and right, pretending to make sure nobody's listening in on the three.

Well gosh Daisuke, I haven't seen you out anywhere, aside from the confrontation with Cierra I prevented by getting there first, which I'll admit you might've been able to handle.

The point is, though, with your powers and leadership role, I expect more. I see people lazing about here all of the time, mooching off of League resources, and it makes me ill. People are just using the place as their own personal clubhouse and free hotel, while Happy still hasn't gotten resurrected. Demon spores fly, and-

Did you say demon spores, Maggy? You didn't get infected, did you?

-innocents die, but nothing around here changes. It's all about image, Daisuke, and yours needs some charity work or something to clean up.

Daisuke nods. Despite the fact that he was actually doing something during Cal's takedown. Not related to the takedown itself, but still...

All right. I'll work on that. Tobias, since you approached me before on the redemption program thing, why don't you help set it up?

On the cameras, it's actually not a bad idea. Who's going to get the feed?

[Lord Magtok]

Magtok shrugs.

That new computer system someone installed, at least until Mainframe finds out about it and violently replaces it, or whatever the AI's going to do. I haven't touched the personality bits of the AI, I wouldn't know.
