You can learn new skills at the cost of points at the outset of the journey, but not doing so gives a score bonus.

Re: Into the West: Let's Play Oregon Trail II
Thanks for reading, everyone, especially if I wasn't always the most reliable updater.
Allow me to say how utterly absurd it is that we survived this. That was probably the luckiest run of Oregon Trail 2 that I've ever seen, although we did set out fairly early. If we had hit the trails at a later date, the journey would likely have been considerably harder. But even then, the fact that we managed to ford every single river in the game and not lose a single Ox is... Unbelievable. I used to play this game a lot as a kid, and I only ever actually beat the game once. I think this was the first time I had ever managed to get to Oregon City itself.
So thanks again, guys. Have some leftover candy as a reward.[ There was a signature here. It's gone now. ]

Re: Into the West: Let's Play Oregon Trail II
As a lurker in this thread, I'd like to thank you all for participating. This was a fantastic, hilarious story, in the vein of The Oddyssey, with a personal yet epic feel to it. A struggle of man against nature, paranoia, and vampire's invampirity to man; ending with the triumph of one man's iron will against the relentless threat of...
Okay, I can't BS quite that well. Anyway, I loved the game and loved the insanity in the thread. It made for a great read.If it's not obvious, insert a after my post.
