It's the reason WKD and Smirnoff are good gateway drinks.

Re: LGBTitp - Part Six
Not sure how on topic this all is, but alcohol does not, in fact, make everything all better. In fact, it tends to worsen my depression exponentially to the point at which I become a danger to myself. So... I don't drink. Also, the taste of alcohol is rather unpleasant besides.
Still not really here. Still just an illusion.

Re: LGBTitp - Part Six
For anything invollving angst, alcohol is almost always eventually relevant. I myself had a spectacular (by my standards) display by being attracted to a guy at a party.
Drinking ensued.Everything I say is 100% TRUTH*

Re: LGBTitp - Part Six
uhm... I kinda lost interest in alcohol after turning, like, 18...
(I am also a bit of a health-freak, so I guess that as soon as the novelty of the thing wore out I stopped thinking it was "cool" and realized I flat out don't like the taste of most alcoholic beverages XD)"Whoever said 'nothing is impossible' never tried slamming a revolving door."

Gay is very often used to mean male homosexuality in particular.

I've still never understood beer. Maybe I've just never had a nice one, but the one or two I'd tried were mouth-curdlingly bad.

Hmm. Let's go with "Lager, gin, brandy, and tequila", then.

Re: LGBTitp - Part Six
Supposedly, but it didn't make me depressed the two times I had it.
I think it's a general thing with alcohol - it accentuates your mood. So if you're depressed to start with, alcohol will likely make it worse. If you're fairly cheerful, you just get merry.
But, repurposing of acronyms aside, this does seem kind of off topic.
So... how about them attractive members of the same sex... and also attractive members of the opposite sex... and attractive people who defy categorisation...
Oh! Actually, I have a brief story: a guy I invited to my birthday party may be setting up one of my (female) friends with his lesbian housemate apparently. I expected them to get on, but this, I must admit, came as a surprise."'But there's still such a lot to be done...'
YES. THERE ALWAYS IS."

Re: LGBTitp - Part Six
Woo for that! Setups are always good.
But yeah, anyone else get the "guilt-at-crushes" thing? It's all "Oh man they're really cute" and then WHAM huge guilt at even wanting to flirt with them (goodness knows how, I'm pretty sure that went out the window with more than basic empathy) and massive paranoia about people knowing you think the charismatic guy with sideburns and his shirt off and a girlfreind is cute.
Because, y'know, either this crap is normal, or the choice of fostermother and pastoral manager to push me at a councillor might not have been such a bad idea.Last edited by Lyesmith; 2010-05-31 at 07:41 PM.

Re: LGBTitp - Part Six
I am sorry to ask this, but for all those who have a bit of extra change and would be willing to help a good person please read my sig. The guy just gave what he had been saving for his surgery to another, which shows he is a good man in my mind.
He has taken in the child of another person who has pretty much abandoned it (the child of his gf/wife), and does a lot for his friends. I and his girl really want to see his and his grandmother's dream come true.
At the very least thank you for reading this.
Eh, I do not see what is so great. I am thankful I am allergic to the stuff. I can not go down that path. :/

Re: LGBTitp - Part Six
I've never understood the guilt thing for crushing/flirting. Now, guilt for pushing on someone who doesn't want it or will suffer for it at a vulnerable moment is different. But it doesn't sound relevant.
Pika: I will be completely frank. You are passing around a dish for someone I don't know, can't check on, can't confirm the honesty of, and don't have any historical basis for generating sympathy for. For a cause I will definitely only consider giving to when Famine and Pandemics aren't occupying my charitable views. A second time. I'm beyond not caring and to the point of wondering whether you're trying to take us for a ride or they're taking you for one.

Re: LGBTitp - Part Six
Could you at least make the begging-bowl thread relevant? It's pretty annoying.
Good luck with the exams, Delusion!
golentan, the guilt (at least for me) stems from the complete lack of anyone else of my disposition where I live. I get kinda awkwarded when girls flirt and the like with me, and for a guy being hit on by a guy must be twenty times worse, and usually the whole reason I like someone is due to personality - I don't want to force that uncomfortable situation on anyone, y'know?Everything I say is 100% TRUTH*

Re: LGBTitp - Part Six
I thought the begging bowl was for a sex-reassignment surgery, and is therefore at least somewhat thread-relevant...?

Re: LGBTitp - Part Six
Hi,
I’m a transsexual girl who recently resigned herself to a life of asexuality, mainly due to the idea of pursuing a supposed love may very well end in violence or rejection because of what I am. This, alongside the idea that finding someone who would be willing to tolerate my other quirks would be rare enough in itself, makes the entire idea of seeking a good relationship appear impossible. So I’ve decided not to bother anymore.
My question is this: is this common? Is it a bad idea to resign oneself in such a way?LGBT in the playground - banner by Doihaveaname?.
Thanks to Ceika, Dihan, Happy Turtle, Reicaden and Haruki for the avatars.

Re: LGBTitp - Part Six
Well, if you look at this thread you see several dozen people who are totally fine with transexuality. I myself have four or five friends who are totally fine with it, and a few more who are mostly fine with it. If this little corner of the internet has that many, I'm sure you can find someone!
The easiest solution I can think of is looking for a transgender opposite to you. (I'm sorry, transexual girl could be either. (Sweatdrop)) Other than that, an openminded bisexual is most likely to be okay with it.
