On a more serious note, I have a general concern with the two proposed plots. They intend to involve all of the spiritually aware mortals (at least at the school)? This could get awkward and clunky, as there are a lot of them. I don't know, maybe its just me, but I think we should have several smaller plots for smaller groups of characters to start off with. Also, from a story perspective it seems pretty forced to have everyone to just get their powers at exactly the same time. I'd like to hear what everyone else's opinions on the matter are.

12 mortal student characters, if I counted right.

Karite would already have his powers.

Emi might well already have hers.

Izumi likely will get hers...before either plot, or between the two.

Nic will get chomped somwhere in between.

Really, it's only half, if that, of the students who will gain powers in one of the two plots specifically.

And a dozen is a lot, sure...but I think we can handle it.

Plots with 3 characters each, all scattered over, seem more likely to die off. One big plot feels more epic, and more likely to keep moving.

With at least 2 Grand-Fisher-esque Hollows running amok, I'd say we'll have a good chance for everybody to shine.

Edit: No Terry. The Arrancar only had 2 releases. Resurreccion, and Segunda Etapa. At max; not all of them possess these.

I guess that's a fair argument. I suppose the epicness factor of having a plot that involves everyone might be able to keep everyone together. I'd still like to hear from more people though.

Ryo has a deceivingly slight build for a shinigami. Underneath, his muscles are lean, hardened and scarred from years training and fighting against hollows. One of his most prodigious scars crosses the side of his face from his temple to his jawline. He has spiky black hair that would be shoulder length, were it not styled, and a black lip ring.

At one hundred and fifty, Ryo doesn't seem to be much more than a teenager. For the most part, he is. He's wild and takes risks and feels invincible. He's also somewhat lazy and doesn't focus very well, unless its a pretty girl or fighting. Not to say he likes getting into them, but obviously he can manage.

He is however at heart, very committed to his job and hates to see people getting hurt, though he does know when its time to give up for the most part.

Kidō:
Ryo knows some healing kido by necessity, and can cast both Bakudō and Hadō up to the thirties, as he's not very fond of releasing his zanpakuto. He can only use Eishohaki (casting Kidō without incantation) with certain Kidō below ten. Some of his favorite are:
Geki: Keeps hollows in check during a fight.
Kyokko: Useful for sneaking up on hollows and anything else in general. Like the women's bath house.
Shō: For a while, he was simply amused at it's potential for innuendo, now its become a valuable part of his arsenal and keeps pesky opponents at bay.
Byakurai: Ryo fires a blast of lightning. A useful ranged attack mode.
Sōkatsui: Possibly his most devastating single attack, it fires a large blast of blue fire.

Hakuda:
Ryo is good in hand-to-hand combat, though won't rely on it as his main mode of combat most times. However, while his shikai is active, he sometimes gauntlets his hands in stone and gives his stance extra support by changing the earth below him.
Hohō: Ryo's weakest suit. Ryo might look thin, but he's not extremely fast. He prefers instead to stand and meet his opponent head on.
Zanjutsu:
Ryo's most prodigious skills lie in his swordsmanship. Ryo is particularly adept at striking vulnerable areas with speed and skill. Though his hammer is not precisely a sword, he has honed techniques with it using some of the basics of swordsmanship. However, as mentioned, he rarely uses his zanpakuto's released form and thus is the reason why he relies on his swordsmanship so much.

Zanpakuto: Kiba no Tsuchi

Sealed Form: A normal katana with a green hilt and a square guard.

Release Command: "[I return this to you]"
In addition to speaking the release command, Ryo spills his own blood on the ground. He usually just slits his palm, but in dire situations, he might spill a bit more. After doing so, Ryo's zanpakuto becomes a sledgehammer and he can manipulate the earth around him,(like an earthbender) based on the amount of blood he gave. This is not directly proportional to the amount of blood spent. For example, simply slitting his palm generally produces enough blood for him to manipulate his body mass of earth.

Definitely not, and I've made that pretty clear in a number of posts (including character registry).

Displaying how she gets her powers is a very important part of the general story I intend to play out with her, so having her already possess powers would really mess things up.

Unless a hollow comes out in a very perfect situation before either of the plots take place, she's going to be getting her powers within one of the plots. Or even later, depending on how things play out.

Maybe he was confused with Erima, who will certainly have her 'powers' already. But being as she is with Takara, likely she will not be doing much in Michiko's arc besides being a scarf, or being comedic.

Sayaka also will not be participating in Michiko's arc I think.

Maybe Japanese school systems are different, but in the US, you can technically enter the school system at any time from homeschooling. Generally, you enter at whatever your proper age would be. So, if you're 17 and you decide to go to high school from homeschooling, you could enter as a 3rd year if you wanted.

Yeah, basically she's living with her grandmother right now. Her grandmother is a pretty strong person (though she has no special powers), so she doesn't require Kina to do too much caring for her. Kina's generally free to act as she sees fit, since her grandfather's will basically said that in uncertain terms.

Innis, I see you've now made Takeshi a Kido Commander Candidate, rather than "Xth Division" (presumably meant to be 6th or 7th).

Why the change? I thought the Xth Division was actually interesting and flavorful.

Also, are you working on a writeup for the Kido Corps? Kind of have a vested interest in said writeup, after all.

Alternatively, he was using "Xth" because it could have fit a couple of different Divisions; in other words, the "X" was a variable, intended to communicate the flexibility, rather than finality, of destination. I got the sense it was likely intended for 6th or 7th, but could be wrong.
