Re: The Return of Loaded Dice!
Hey, I see there's a new comic. Finally, somebody's taking action against those terrible puns. But why are you getting a new artist? I was liking this art. Oh well, I guess this is as good a place as any to say thanks for the art Lyra!

Re: The Return of Loaded Dice!
Yep, the last update was the last one drawn by Lyra. I have loved her art, she has been absolutely amazing, but her schedule is simply not condusive to producing a webcomic with any sort of regularity. We tried some asjustments - such as me taking over the coloring duties - but it still didn't help. I decided that it would be better to take a small step back in art quality, but actually get back to two updates per week. As it was, we had only produced sixteen regular strips since May, and that just wasn't going to cut it.
I wish Lyra nothing but the absolute best, but with the painful decision made, we are pressing on with Annick Huber handling the art duties from here on out. Check with us tomorow (October 26th) as we post the first strip with the new art. Expect simpler backgrounds, and a slightly different look (of course), but honestly, it won't be a horrible transition.

Re: The Return of Loaded Dice!
Congrats about getting a new artist. I'll look forward to seeing her (him?) in action
Personally, I don't blame Lyra at all. Doing a comic takes time, even more (I can imagine) at such a high level of quality.Spoiler

Just popping in to say 'hope you all are well and good luck finishing the story arc. It seems close.
The new artist has things almost right. Just a few tweaks here and there and I'd have no complaints.Baby B-day Turtle Avatar by SavannahfnordEx-Keeper of The Birthdays (The Birthday Thread)

Re: The Return of Loaded Dice!
Yep, the story arc is very, very close to an end.
The art continues to improve every single strip. I am quite happy with it, and it's nice that it's enabling us to produce comics on a much more regular basis.
Thanks for the continuing support!Santa4me.com: personalized, one of a kind letters from Santa Claus!

Re: The Return of Loaded Dice!
Glad to hear that you managed to find a new artist. The writting is still great, but the drawing kinds of bugs me sometimes, like Steve's face in panel 2 and Ray's in panel 4, but I really liked the last panel, so it's generally good and seems to be improving as well.

Re: The Return of Loaded Dice!
Yay! Go team! Anyways, nice ending. I eagerly await to see what happens in chapter two. Mainly, I want to see if they make it out of the blizzard. Having them get to a village and have to actually role play with towns people would be hilarious.

Re: The Return of Loaded Dice!
Excellent! I DMed a game that came down to a final roll like that. A Savage Dynocious(sp, I know. Think big raptor) savaged the party, slipping in and out through a cave being used to dry bolts of silk. Fast moving predator, lots of cover, good dice rolls from me as DM. Everyone down except the rogue. The dino had been taking hits all along, and a final arrow took it down. Lots of healing potions were consumed afterwards... Great Game! And now I'm DMing it again!

Re: The Return of Loaded Dice!
Heh... one might suggest to the players that if they play with fire, these results are not unexpected. :)
I will pass on the praise to my artist - she is doing a solid job, I think.
The panel would be even better if my coloring skills were not so rudimentary, but I believe that I am slowly improving. The only way that know to get better is by doing, you see.Santa4me.com: personalized, one of a kind letters from Santa Claus!

Re: The Return of Loaded Dice!
After just SUCKING over the holidays, we're back - new comic is finally up.
I am seriously considering doing away with shading for the time being. I enjoy coloring, but shading the comics takes me at least as long as coloring does, and I honestly suck at it. What do you think?Santa4me.com: personalized, one of a kind letters from Santa Claus!
