There's a creak as the door to the Commander General's study opens. Out strides Ryouichi, looking disheveled and rough as usual. One hand resting on yuuki, he takes his seat at the end of the meeting hall, a knowing and friendly nod to each of his subordinates.

"Greetings, everyone. Have a seat! No point in being uncomfortable for such business."

Masaru found a seat along the wall, gracefully taking his place.

"I take it there's no critical news, then?"

Hideuchi doesn't look at Kyasarin, muttering too quietly for the words to be made out, but given his foul mood it can be assumed that they aren't particularly pleasant.

"He got a lucky shot in. Everyone gets lucky sometimes, unless they don't need luck because they're actually competent!"

There is a brief pause, wherein Hideuchi realizes just who he is talking to. His eyes open wide in horror, and he quickly spins around and bows apologetically to her.

"Sir. I mean, ma'am."

Kazuo drops back on his table, crossing his legs and joining his hands raised at chin level.

"Nothing particularly worrisome in the past few years. Why would it change now?"

Although it is probably technically correct, anyone with even the slightest knowledge of Hideuchi's personality knows that this is likely a very skewed version of events.

She brushes a strand of hair out of her face, smiling.
It also be a good way to teach a trouble maker a lesson.

Ude doesn't move from his napping position, but does manage a response.

Kazuma eventually finished his gardening. He cleaned his tools and stored them back where they were kept, in the 11th's gardening tool shed. Only after that, did he bother to have himself some water so satisfy his thirst after work.

It was a good feeling, working hard. He felt rewarded in many ways. Going beyond simple survival. But he still had no clear goal. He thought of getting stronger constantly, but now that was no longer a need as basic as water or air, it had lost some of its meaning. His job was to fight, but there was no one to fight.

Having spent the latest stretch of time caring for plants, he thought of taking a stroll. He'd 'earned' it, after all. And it was too early to train again. He thought of stopping by the 4th to deliver some of the herbs everyone picked earlier that day, and headed there.

Hideuchi's eye twitches at Kyasarin's suggestion, and he bows diplomatically to hide his horrified expression at the painful memories it dredges up.

My reputation still hasn't recovered from the beating the Sixth Seat gave me last year.

When he raises his head again, Hideuchi's face is once again composed.

"I could never think of imposing on you like that. I'm sure that you have much better things to be doing than sparring with unseated."

"Not in particular; just the usual. Making sure everything is running at peak efficiency." Ryouichi pulls out a tray with a jug of sake, and several cups. Pouring himself out one, he passes it along.

"So, news, anyone? Don't feel like it needs to be important, anything will do."

A clanking comes from the rooftops above Hideuchi and Kya. "So, you two gonna fight or make out? I'm bored as hell over here!" The red-armed "demon girl" Kyou is sitting on one of the roofs, laying sprawled in a leisurely manner. The source of the clanking was her pounding her shackled arm upon the shingles.

Oh yes I have much better things to do, but I hate paper work. And besides this would be much more interesting.
She looks up at Kyou, and the grin on her face broadens.
Sorry to disappoint you. He doesn't seem confident enough in his abilities to fight anyone more than weaklings.

Hideuchi's hand impacts his face at Kyasarin's response to Kyou, covering his eyes. He pulls it away with a sigh.

Well played. This is going to suck.

He folds his arms in a show of bravado.

"Alright! Alright. When you put it like that, I can't exactly just take that, can I? Do you want to fight now?"

The old man frowns as the others sit down, looking pointedly at each in turn but he didn't just stare down the other captains either.

My fellow captains, perhaps we shouldn't be so relaxed. We have a guest after all." Osamu chides, giving a nod of the head towards the Kido Corp. Chief who had come into the chamber. once he had directed attention towards the young (comparatively) man he gave a shallow bow of his own. Even as he straightened up, taking on a more regal baring and directing his stern ire towards Takeshi.

Even if he did not announce himself properly." the old shinigami says just as pointedly before a benign smile comes unto his face once more.

"But everything is running fine commander. There has been few troubles I've been unable to handle."

"Not in particular; just the usual. Making sure everything is running at peak efficiency." Ryouichi pulls out a tray with a jug of sake, and several cups. Pouring himself out one, he passes it along.

"So, news, anyone? Don't feel like it needs to be important, anything will do."

Masaru straightened up a bit, pulling a small notepad from another pocket in his robes. He adjusted his reading glasses and gave a polite cough.

"I have a few items.

First, everyone should have their quarterly Strategic Plan Overview Reports on their desks when they return. I've reduced the overall size this time. As well, there's an outline at the front. Five pages, with color pictures for those among us with shorter attention spans. You can always ask me if there are questions.

I'm waiting on last month's intelligence reports from the 2nd and 9th.

The inventory from the 4th is being processed right now.

I have yet to receive confirmation one way or another from 5th Division on the personnel loan for some planning and practice sections.

I did receive 7th's report on potential field fortification strategies; I didn't have a chance to reply yesterday due to an...incident...in my Division.

Finally, I'm in need of a maintenance crew from 12th Division. Our holographic display table is having issues. Again."

He tucked the notepad away and awaited responses from his fellow Captains.

I don't see why not. If you're afraid of being embarresed, we can did a nice secluded spot, or we can do it in plain view of the entire division if that would help your ego.

Ude takes the Sake and a Cup, and somehow manages to pour the bottle into the Cup expertly, filling it almost to brim, all this without moving his head or opening his eyes. He's far more interested in the Cup and bottle then any Kido Commander.

"They are smaller? That is a shame. The last one made an excellent foot stool. Perhaps we can use this one to prop up my desk. It wobbles."

The Cup vanished into Ude's arms, and he apparently drank deeply, before continuing.

"As for the inventory... wait, what?"

Ude is at least mildly confused, taking another deep drink.

"Again, Masaru? Seriously, either hammer into the brains of your officers that the fossil you insist on keeping can't resist those settings or get the newer version already."

Kazuo shakes his head at the entire thing.

Masaru takes a moment to consider.

"Send me the information, including potential costs. Thank you for the suggestion, Kazuo."

He turned towards where Takeshi stood, nodding his head.

"Greetings to you, Kido Commander Takeshi. Feel free to ask questions if you feel the need."

"I must repeat my request that you at least read the 5-page outline, Ude. It even has nice pretty pictures. I'd feel better knowing you have at least a basic idea.

As for the inventory, we received the final version of the raw data from your Division just before I left for this meeting. My Division will be going over the information for the next few days."

Takeshi bows low, waving a hand in the air as he slowly grins.

"Aahh? Please forgive me, assembled Captains of the Gotei 13. I am sure my Predecessor made little effort to visit your company, but I felt it wise to attend at least one of your meetings, if you would allow me the pleasure. I will hold any questions until you are finished, I am here only to observe and learn, and would not want to disrupt you any further then I already have.

He bows to Masaru, scratching a hand through his hair with an embarrassed chuckle.

“I-I was not aware my name had stretched so far into the Gotei 13 as well. Thank you Captain for your acceptance. I will introduce myself, please forgive the breach of respect and accept my humblest apologies. I am the Fifth Kido Commander, Kitano Takeshi, I have formally replaced Kido Commander Chen Shengdi in all offical fields, it is a pleasure to make all of your aquantinces."

Natsuko smiles. "It's a good thing, too. The different branches of Seretei's military should work together.

13th has nothing unusual to report, at the moment. There haven't been any Hollow incursions that have even required the sending out of a Strike Team."

Ude gave Masaru a thumbs up.

"Excellent. The system works! See, I do plenty of work. Or, at least my work gets done. Which is much the same thing."

Ude's hand returned to its original place, and he took another drink of Sake.

"And what are the pretty pictures of, Masaru? Maybe if they are of Sayuri-Chan, I'll give it a once over."

Ude looked up, and blinked once, before turning to Natsuko.

"Ordinarily, you'd be my first pick, of course, but fraternizing with my patient is very improper... especially when she is 8 months pregnant."

Masaru sighs, takes off his glasses, and rubs the bridge of his nose.

"No. The pictures are basic battlefield diagrams. Color coded for the various divisions. No drawings, paintings, or photographs of individuals, groups of individuals, etc."

He replaces the glasses.

"But I suppose it doesn't matter. Hopefully the rest of you find them helpful."

Hideuchi scratches the back of his head in confusion.

Ryouichi nods to Masaru. "Very good. I'll give it a look-over as soon as I'm back to my office. Now, as I'm sure you're all aware... It has been 2 years now since... I became Commander General." There's some solemnity in his expression as he pauses.

"...Have we any further information on the whereabouts of Public Enemy #1?"

Excellent. Would you rather we use wooden weapons or real ones? I promise I won't hurt you too badly either way.

I hope the Captain doesn't get mad at me for fighting instead of finishing those intelligence reports for squad 8.
