"...so, do you have time for a night on the town later? To celebrate my second year, and all." The commander grins widely.

Masaru sighed and nodded.

"I suppose you're right. I think I'll hold off on the reports for a bit. I want to see how this last batch works, what with the outlines and all. I'll also hold off on any major training and such."

He nodded at the next question, and opened his mouth to speak-

Ude walked into Ryou's office, like the mere mention of partying and drinking summoned him from where ever he might be, drinking from another cup of Sake. Ryou had left the bottle out.

"Yo little bro! Here, have a drink."

Ude shuffled about, producing both the Sake bottle Ryou had left in the meeting room.

"Ryou, you doing anything important?"

Ude looked over at the CG, taking another drink. Ude's tolerance for drink was quite large. He wouldn't even begin to get drunk until this bottle was finished, and another opened.

-and laughed for several moments.

"Yes Ryou. I think I have time; nothing pressing at my Division right now. Which location would you like to hit first? I'm a touch hungry, and there's a small grill I've heard is quite good that I'd like to visit."

The implication being, of course, that they can go to a tavern afterward. Because that's where they always end up.

Hideyaki arrives at the Seventh Division and files his paperwork, as planned, before writing a small note in almost-robotic writing.

Gone to inspect outer fortfications.
Send all business directed at 3rd Seat there.

That done, and with no real reason to go slow as the paperwork was safe, he shunpos over to the walls.

"Sure, that sounds good." Ryouichi nods sagely. "Just have a few things to take care of; budget, that kind of thing, then I'll be good to go."

There is a knock on Kazuo's door from Katisugo.
Captain Kazuo, its Katisugo. Can I come in?

Kazuo turns his chair around again, to face his table and the door.

The door that opens.

"What is it, Vice-captain Ichimyouri?"

Katisugo walks in giving a slight bow to Kazuo before beginning.
Looks like that Captain's meeting was brief. Anyway I have the results from this mornings test runs on your Reiatsu Shield-Generator.

Katisugo pulls out a datapad from his coat handing it to Kazuo to look at. The datapad...well...okay so its basically an iPad. The lab analysis scrolls slowly down the screen allowing the Captain to skim the report.
We've made substantial progress lowering the power consumption on the machine, but the energy output of the field is still under requirements, and I think another one of the Surge Buffers is busted. I took the liberty of removing it and getting the replacement piece.

Myoijin walks out of 10th barracks, smiling to himself. He cracks his neck, and begins his normal patrol around Seireitei.

Natsuko smiles, and nods quickly.

Taiki Takahashi

Taiki smiles, takes Natsuko's hand, and leads her further into the field. The trees become slightly more dense, enough so that they seem to surround the two completely. After passing through the flowers of one, they find a small blanket with a basket and a nice lawn chair in the middle of a circle of cherry blossom trees.

"We haven't truly had a nice dinner outside in a long time. I thought you might enjoy one before we have our hands tied with the little one." He switches into a slight baby voice at the end and bends over to look at Natsuko's tummy. "I did pass on the wine, though."

Natsuko grins. "Thank you, Taiki."

She turns to kiss her husband...

"Right. Find the test models in box F-73 of storage A-15 and exchange the current coils for those. Should help the energy spread go more smoothly and prevent further damage to the buffers.

Also, Katisugo, tell one of the interns to prepare a catalogue of the most up to date versions of holotables and send them to the 8th division captain's desk."

Kazuo turns his chair around again, but not before pressing a button on his table, which reveals a large screen on the wall.

"Dismissed."

Natsuko grins. "Thank you, Taiki."

She turns to kiss her husband...

...and he turns to return her kiss. Once they part, he smiles. "You're welcome, Natsuko. Shall we sit? I brought the chair so you wouldn't have to sit on the ground." He releases her hand for a moment, only to reach to the ground and pick up a fallen cherry blossom and place it in her hand.

Natsuko smiles, and sits on the chair, leaning back. "Thanks, Taiki."

She looks at the cherry blossom. "I can't believe I didn't know about this place... it's beautiful."

[The Librarian]

Katisugo nods
I'll leave you to your work sir.

He then walks out with his datapad putting it back in his robe. He then summons his Hell Butterfly a great Atlas Moth. that walks up his shoulder. Katisugo relays the message from Kazuo to his Butterfly sending him off on its task.

He then heads towards the lobby wear his two unseated assisting him are relaxing playing a game of Go. They spot the Vice-Captain and salute. Katisugo nods gesturing for them to relax.
Come on were heading for the Storage Room.

The two nod and follow the Vice Captain out of the room.

Kazuo turns on his screen, showing lines upon lines of disconnected words.

He closes his eyes and rests his cheek on one hand, leaning to the side on his chair, as five tall, mechanical figures appear from the air.

"Ok. Back to your test. Dougu no Tsukirite."

"..."
"..."
"..."

Natsuko smiles, and sits on the chair, leaning back. "Thanks, Taiki."

She looks at the cherry blossom. "I can't believe I didn't know about this place... it's beautiful."

Taiki sits on the blanket and opens the basket. He pulls a jug and two glasses and pours each of them a glass of lemonade.

"A friend once asked me to keep it sacred, and I have kept that promise. Only three people have ever stepped into this grove. You are the third." He smiles and looks into the distance, though it appears that he can see nothing but more cherry blossom trees. "I have used some of my...resources to ensure that no one finds this place without assistance." He takes a sip of his lemonade. "Perhaps it was not right...but I would not betray the wishes of my friend."

[horngeek]

"...no, it's good that you've kept that promise. Thank you for showing it to me."

She sips from the lemonade as well. "Was he a teammate of yours?"

"She was." Taiki takes another sip and remains silent for a few moments, still smiling into the distance. "We had been friends and colleges for a long time. She has since passed on. But I keep the promise in her memory."

His face changes slightly, almost as if his mood has changed entirely. He turns to Natsuko, smiles, and reaches into the basket, pulling a loaf of bread from it. He pulls a piece from it and hands it to Natsuko, taking a small piece for himself should she accept. "Perhaps we should discuss something more lighthearted. This is, after all, a beautiful evening. I would be loathe to spoil it with somber talk."

She does accept, and nods. "...you know, we haven't even decided on a name yet."

She rests a hand on her belly.

Taiki looks at Natsuko's belly and seems thoughtful for a moment. "I never myself truly considered a name until you just mentioned it." He takes a nibble of bread and a sip of lemonade, deep in thought.

Natsuko looks at him. "Any ideas?"

"If it's a girl...Hikari." Taiki seems to be considering other names in his head, but he does not appear to come to any further conclusions. "What do you think?"

Natsuko nods, and smiles. "Hikari sounds good to me...

how about calling it Ayumu if it turns out to be a boy?"

Taiki nods, considering it for a moment. "I like it. Ayumu it is. Though these names are somewhat temporary, I suppose. If we come across some kind of divine inspiration, we should probably be willing to switch." Taiki smiles jokingly, his tone obviously containing some small sense of sarcasm. He takes a slightly larger bite out of his piece of bread.

Natsuko chuckles, and takes a few bites out of her piece of bread.

Taiki sits quietly for a moment, shaking his glass slightly before taking another drink. "It has been a while since I've had nothing to think about but you. It's truly refreshing, Natsuko." He smiles and looks up. "Mmm. The sun is setting."

Natsuko chuckles. "Well, me and..."

She takes his hand and guides it to her belly.

And looks at the sun. "Yeah... it's beautiful."

Taiki lets her place his hand on her belly. "Indeed. Hello little one!" He smiles and kisses her belly.

"One more day closer to your birthday, little one! Are you excited?"

Natsuko grins, as Taiki may feel a little kick. "I think it is."

Takeshi hums to himself as he moves through the grounds of the Gotei 13, a large series of glowing panels circling around him as he brushs them with his fingers.

"Captain's prone to bickering and discussing matters of non-importance during meetings. Relationships strained in several facilties, co-operation seems...underwhelming."

He frowns slightly, pausing in his walk to scan over a series of sentences, shaking his head.

"Will have to continue to attend meetings when able. Information inadaquate."

He shifts the pipe in his mouth, glancing around with a soft sigh.

"And the lack of resturants is distressing...well, time for a meeting of my own I suppose."

Kazuma felt sorely disappointed. He fully expected Hideuchi to get a trashing, and that would have been classic. It didn't help that watching that made him want to get some sparring in himself, and he had now enough sugar in his bloodstream to pump himself up.

He walked up to Kyou, after placing his candy stash safely away. "Guess I'm not the only one who's sorry that got interrupted, huh."

Kyou eyes Kazuma with annoyance. "What's it to you? I'm not sorry for a damn thing, I'm pissed it didn't happen." The girl stands, resting her distinctive red hand on the hilt of her zanpaktou, observing her "fellow" shinigami.
