Re: MitD III: You are likely to suggest Tarrasque
"There's nothing in there that's any scarier than you."
"Sir, he's about as scary as musty styrofoam."
"Correction, any scarier than you should be."
In the English language, that simply doesn't say "any scarier than you will be when you grow up." He can knock horses through walls now. He's harmless and timid. How does it make any sense to parse "he's as scary as musty styrofoam--nothing in the tower is scarier than it should be" into, "he will be scary at a future time when he gets more powers"?Orth Plays: Currently Baldur's Gate II

I agree that Occam's Razor as well as the linguistic approach put forth are excellent reasons to interpret the lines as we currently do. Thank you for elaborating upon your stance.

Re: MitD III: You are likely to suggest Tarrasque
The strip in question is the one I linked in First Post. Roy's Archon lets Roy know that the further you climb the mountain, the closer you are to perfect enlightenment. He also mentions how he, as an Archon, is not yet allowed up there, that he is still working at it and hopes to get up there some day. We also know that Roy's grandfather is on the same journey, and the he actually needs to come down to "earthly desires" level to visit his family.
All this is consistent with the standard cosmology advancement. The end goal is to climb to the very top, at which point your soul becomes part of your morality plane (scroll down to Chronias: "It is thought to be the ultimate goal of the inhabitants of Celestia to ascend the layers one by one in order to reach Chronias, where their souls will join with the essence of the plane itself.").
I can't find the reference for archon/angel/demon creation, unfortunately. From what I remember, these beings are created from the essence of the morality plane - i.e. from the very souls that join the plane.
Now, I agree that in an effort to please munchkins everywhere, D&D allows every imaginable half-race, thus half-demons are born. But I will point out that they are half-demons for a reason, to whit, that there must be a non-demon involved.
Finally, as I have put in the first post, the whole thing is fairly unclear in OotS, since Rich has sent mixed messages about the whole thing. For all we know, good-aligned creatures are made, and demons are bred in OotS. But since mentions of parents have tended to be punchlines, I would be more inclined to disregard it.

“Sometimes, immersed in his books, there would come to him
the awareness of all that he did not know, of all that he had not read;
and the serenity for which he labored was shattered as he realized the
little time he had in life to read so much, to learn what he had to know.”
