    Default The OfficeRats

    Hey Everyone,

I'm new around here and just wanted to plug my webcomic. It an office based webcomic but shoots off into other areas as well.

    The OfficeRat

Although it may not appeal to everyone I hope a lot of you will enjoy it.

    Thanks,

Are you looking for feedback, or are you just advertising?

For now, I'll just say I like it. It's funny.

    A little bit of both.

I always welcome some well thought out feedback and suggestions.

All right, I finally got around to looking at this thing.

As I said, I really like the writing. It's funny, and the characters' personalities stand out and produce jokes all by themself (okay, not really.. but I hope you know what I mean )

I'll be honest. I don't care much for the drawing style. You can't really do anything about that (taste is taste, after all), and if I look past my personal taste, I think the stylised look is very good for the genre.
I've still got a few comments, though:
    - sometimes the artwork lacks... dynamics. Like here. I'm not sure if Astley is supposed to look slightly indifferent in the 2nd panel, but in the 3rd, the movement is just not there. A good trick is to always draw the extremes. So instead of drawing Goatee's arms halfway there, and Astley halfway to getting caught, draw either of the two extremes. And remember; face and arms aren't the only things to convey emotions.
    - the blond guy's head is too far back. I know he's supposed to look straight-backed, but it really looks like it'd take too much effort to keep your head that far back.

That's all I can think of to say. Hope it's helpful

Thanks for the feedback and the time to take a look at the site.

I will definitely take your suggestions into consideration to help improve the comic.

In my non-professional and little experienced opinion i thought the artwork was really good and it fit well with the comic. I thought it was pretty funny too.

My only suggestion would be to try to develop a plot or storyline where you could introduce your punchlines but still have a hook to keep readers coming back wanting to know what will happen next. For example, they could go on an office mission to get copy machine paper from the basement and you could introduce your punchlines along the way in the people or obstacles they encounter, or so forth.

Thanks for checking out the site joemamma,

Great idea. I have been playing around with the idea of having some story-lines or jokes lasting 4 + comics long. Hopefully I can introduce some of those ideas in the near future.
