That actually come from a player called DocGimmick(Doc Grosnik; Thanks Sciurus). I tried to get their steamIDs, but it didn't show up under my "show all players" list and I don't know any other way to get a steamID.

Thanks for the heads-up, Sciurus. We'll keep an eye out for him. Meanwhile, if you ever see him on again, PM an admin about the situation.

He's still on as of this post, but I left the server as I couldn't take it anymore.

His name is Doc Grotsnik, after a W40K named character. I've never noticed him being bad, but then I have a high tolerance for trash talking. I normally just tune it out. He does kill me an awful lot, though.

I didn't here PVTleogeo or whatever his name was being rude about the admins though, or I'd have booted him on the spot.

It pretty much is. The warnings I was talking about were things like being overly negative about other players, whining loudly about anyone he didn't like, whining loudly about/simply ignoring vote supported gimmicks, stuff like that. He was a lot worse before the moderator list got bigger, he was rather unresponsive to any request that didn't have the threat of a kick behind it. Did I mention this was a really long time ago? I haven't been able to play for a while.

I wish we had a more...concrete "Don't be a jackass" rule.

Rule #1: "have fun, but don't be a jerk while doing it". I quote that rule as a warning when anyone starts to act up.

Diverging slightly, I discovered on the SHaFT last night that Snoipahs deal with the new Engie menace surprisingly well. Gunslinger sentries go down in one charged shot. Engies still go down in one charged shot/headshot. Wrangler Engineers are distracted easily and hauling Engineers are easy pickings.

I discovered this as well. If only I weren't a terrible sniper, or I'd take advantage of it.

Aim for the head before you scope, gives you a great advantage against counter-snipers and anything that can kill/wound you at long range.

ChHa is now updated. Also with new maps!

• The engineer update maps are now live.
• Frontier (pl) and Corporation (cp) are now available for nominating and in the basic rotation.
• Whalerace has been moved off the nominate list. If you want to play it admins can select it through their mapchange list, but not otherwise.
• Likewise, a cube soccer map (cube_alpine) has been added to the admin list but not elsewhere. If you want a cube soccer gimmick round, badger your nearest administrator.

Are the three Engie Update maps in ChHa rotation?

...also, going to hunt for those maps now.

So, today I decided to log on to TF2. I wanted to get onto SHaFT, but it was full. There was an open slot on ChHa, so I thought to myself "I guess I'll just settle for that, then."

I caught myself immediately after thinking that. Do you see the problem? I settled for ChHa. What's coming to this server?

Why offer a warning? We have a warning screen upon entering the game. He clearly violated it. Just kick/temp ban. We don't want people like him anyway.

We've discussed this, haven't we? It's best for everyone to remove the trolls ASAP.

They are banned now. Here's my reasoning, people say there is an issue so I go on. They weren't being straight out calling people gay or discussing sexual things. I tolled them to knock it off, they skirted my ruling, I banned them. Unless they are explicitly breaking the rules, they get a warning. Since they were doing something that isn't explicitly forbidden, they get benefit of doubt.

To summarize, the key point is they were not using Gay or other such language offensively, hence a warning before a ban.

@Djinn: Is there an sm_ command to show people rules or the entry screen? If someone is breaking them and you want to warn them, just flashing that up seems like a good idea. It also means they can't complain about not knowing the rules/not having heard/read the warning.
