Re: GitP/ChHa Server Thread IV: For Science. You Monster.
It takes forever to get through one round. I'm just saying that it could use a time limit at the very least.

Re: GitP/ChHa Server Thread IV: For Science. You Monster.
I really like the map myself =\
I can very well see how one round can drag on forever, which is a bummer >_<
If possible, a time limit would be nice. I can't remember if mods have map changing powers or anything similar, if it gets out of hand they can probably fix stuff.
Also, I highly doubt anyone has noticed my absence on steam, or really care to much... But I"m still alive... But can't get on due to a certain bet...

I, too, love that map. I will say that a time limit is not a bad request, however. It _shouldn't_ take forever to finish, but I've been party to at least one (horrible) occasion when it did.

Re: GitP/ChHa Server Thread IV: For Science. You Monster.
BECAUSE WE'RE COOL WITH THAT.
Or, more likely, we are so disorganised that we cannot form a neat orderly set of groups.
Currently I know and am a member of:
- Giant in the Playground - This website as a whole.
- Chocolate Hammer - Rutskarn's followers.
- Chocolate Hammer || ChHa Server Group - Rutskarn's followers + this thread.
- ChHa/GitP TF2 Competitive/Events - Comp Teams.
- GitP L4D2 -Guys with L4D2.
We can probably try and narrow that down to the following:
- GitP Steam Servers - Steam Thread followers on GitP.
- Giant in the Playground - Website as a whole
This is not counting the whole ChHa Yellow/Green/Red/Blue/Rainbow thing we have going on for that summer thingie that everyone has forgotten about as well as other, smaller auxillary groups such as that weird Sniper group, the "don't kill in humiliation group", Doc's Sea Slugs and other assorted drivel.
Man, we suck at group management.
Writings and ramblings would be here. Get it out of my head, and into yours.

Well we can't get rid of the original Chocolate Hammer group, cause that's to do with the blog, not the server.

Why do we have to combine the groups? The separate groups are a GOOD THING.

Re: GitP/ChHa Server Thread IV: For Science. You Monster.
Actually, that's a fair point. I should probably have made the group open to everyone to begin with. Not many people use the [GitP] tag anymore, in any case, so pretty much the only people likely to use it will be people here.
Any objections to making the group open to everyone to join? If not, I'll open it tomorrow and apologise for leaving it invite-only for so damn long

Me either; I don't recall anything questionable. I guess maybe if it was on the team channel...

Re: GitP/ChHa Server Thread IV: For Science. You Monster.
I know it can be a little difficult to find one at times, but we really do have enough mods now. If you ask (and there's space!), one of the mods is almost certain to be available to join the server for a bit and help calm things down. Be sure to hunt for one if there is a problem.

Re: GitP/ChHa Server Thread IV: For Science. You Monster.
See, now you're being inconsistent. First you said he was spamming, now it's trolling.
While I can't actually ban outside of being on the server, I don't think Djinn or Potato would ban for such an unspecific charge. In future, grab screenshots/demos or at least give us a bit more detail.
Although having said that, they might still ban him, I'unno.

Re: GitP/ChHa Server Thread IV: For Science. You Monster.
I think there may have been a Steam update last night - perhaps to fix the hole in the roof on Upwards? - which caused the problems.
Anyway, a quick Steam update and 'turn it off and on again' seems to have done the trick.I write a gaming blog. It also hosts my gaming downloads:
Fatescape - FATE-based D&D emulator, for when you want D&D flavour but not D&D complexity.
Exalted Mass Combat Rules - Because the ones in the core book suck.

Re: GitP/ChHa Server Thread IV: For Science. You Monster.
Hole in the roof of Upwards? Wait... if there was a hole in the roof, wouldn't that have led to the Great Void Beyond?
Valve, you fools, you imbeciles nay, nincompoops. ISN'T THAT DANGEROUS?!
They could have caused an apocalyptic and systematic destruction of the TF2 world with their carelessness, through a series of dimensional faults amplifying themselves through the dark energies seeping from the Great Void and collapsing within one another, causing a strange cascade effect as the multiverse falls into itself.

Re: GitP/ChHa Server Thread IV: For Science. You Monster.
I thought we were turning off the reserved slots on the main server?
Having it taunt me at 23/24 with 'SERVER FULL' and not getting the chance to retry joining is beginning to get my goat.Ask not for whom the wolves howl, they howl for thee.
