Meanwhile, there's a knocking on the Main Cabin!

Toby sighs good naturedly and explains all that he said in the last few pages to Dai. Of course, I'd rather not play a shell game. You can do that soul thingy to see if she's actually in the base, right?

The knocking on the main door cabin gets more insistent.

So make sure you check that out before I go start my diversioning. I want to be sure you can get in and out with her using that super-speed thing before I go paint the word "Target" all over my forehead. He shrugs and adopts a devil-may-care grin.

Yeah... He gingerly tries to put a hand on Dai's shoulder, ready to pull it back if he starts snarling or breaking bones. Don't worry. We'll get her back.

Toby nods, not sure what else to say, and flees from the awkwardness into Deadtime.

And at this moment, the woman heads over to the infirmary!

Why? Because that's where she wants a job, of course.

Selvik, having heard all that was said, turns to Daisuke.

I can get you close to the base once we find it. If there's a window, I can get use inside, too.

Meanwhile, the newcomer may hear large footsteps behind her, as well as metallic sounds. If she turns around, she'll find Runner walking the grounds. He's headed past the infirmary.

The newcomer promptly hurries over. "Oooooooh!"

Runner hears her, and stops to look at the woman running over to him.

He smiles and waves.

While she's saying this, she seems to be looking at Runner. "My name's Akemi."

If you want to join, you are supposed to go to the front desk and fill out the form.

And he'll walk to the front door and open it for her.

She walks in, and waits for either Runner to do something so he can come in, or someone else to come.
