Toby tries to send a fairly emotional telepathic thought Dai's way, as he walks off into the woods.

I can't deal with Anshu and his kind anymore, Boss. They make me feel like I'm worthless and that they're all far better than me. I can't take anyone showing me up in front of my family with that kind of casual contempt. It makes me feel... Well, maybe I am a bad person who deserves to die. I certainly don't deserve Quinn and Jamie.

Out loud, he says: She's your kid, Boss. I said I'd help you get her back...

Quinn watches Toby go, her head dropping, as she crosses her arms over her chest, eyes closed.

"I hurt my daddy and he says I didn't but I know better and now he says he's going to get killed and I don't want to lose him 'cause I love him and mommy and daddy are going to get married soon and I'm supposed to be a flower girl and I'm supposed to be strong and help Mara and Nimai and Abby and Holly and Tokala and Sinopa and protect them and how can I do that if even daddy isn't strong enough to win?"
Jamie's thoughts pour out in a stream, then break off at the end with a sob.

Daisuke frowns. That's still no excuse. In her position, I would have said the exact same words, because at that moment, you earned them. Try to earn kinder words, and you might get them- and you'll probably feel better about yourself. And if people show contempt even then... ignore those people.

On whether you deserve those two... they seem to think you do. I will trust their judgement.

Although stern, his words don't have an unkind tone, and they are genuine.

Out loud... "Fine. Let's go."

Quinn looks up at Akemi.
"Sorry about that..." she says, in a small voice.

He just sighs out loud and steps into a tree, disappearing.

"Guess I'll have to...persuade you further, then..." Shrike chuckles.

There's a long pause before Jamie answers.
"Yeah...."

Akemi is breathing heavily. "It's not your fault. It's his."

Quinn shakes her head.
"I'm supposed to be helping him. If he still goes off like that...I'm not helping him enough, clearly....

"Oh yes." Shrike chuckles, more, and starts nibbling on Zamira's ear.

Selvik palms his face. Oh, yeah. Duh. And with that, he walks directly into a shadow and disappears.

"I still hurt him...." Jamie says, her voice even quieter due to the boathouse door.

Akemi looks at her. "Maybe I was at fault too, for speaking so harshly... but what he did was highly inappropriate."

Zamira eeps, and giggles!

"Oh, I don't disagree...but the fact he did it means I haven't been as good as I thought I had been..."
Quinn drops onto a medbed, sighing, and stretches out.
"And I can't even go help..."

Shrike will go to pull Zamira under the curtain again.

Akemi frowns. "Is there any possibility he'll be civil to me now, or should I just avoid him?"

Jamie, I find it highly unlikely that you did hurt him.

But, even if you did, you know that he would forgive you for it. He loves you, Jamie.

[The Bushranger]

"If he comes back...he probably will be more civil. If I have to raise him...well..."
Quinn closes her eyes.
"If he's not as stressed, he might even pretend it never happened."

Jamie stays quiet for a few moments, then steps out of the boathouse.
"I guess. Thanks, Runner."
She smiles up at the big Autobot, her cheeks still tear-stained.

Quinn nods as well, sighing. "Thanks..."
She closes her eyes, and starts drifting off to sleep.


Jamie slips in a moment later, and heads to a bed to get to sleep, herself, waving shyly at Akemi.
