MagCave II-You Don't Have to Be Crazy To Work Here, But it Helps!

((Oops, I broke this post.))

((Note: The MagCave is a sort of public secret, like Area 41. It's a rather isolated locale, paranoidly watched over and guarded by a quarter-mile of security cameras. It's simple enough to find if one knows where they're going, and nearly impossible to locate if you're looking for "That cave by those mountains somewhere, maybe at the bottom", and don't know what a ruined, irradiated landscape looks like.))

Cierra walks into the MagCave, pistol drawn. After what happened to Sam, she's pretty angry (feeling some guilt for it), and isn't inclined to play nice like Brendan is.

If she doesn't actually gain entry, then she'll just stand outside the door pounding on it with a fist.

[Lord Magtok]

Cierra's allowed in, but doesn't get a ButlerBot to accompany her like lucky Brendan did. It probably has something to do with that gun she's drawn. She gets an intercom message from a MagClone instead.

So tell me, if Brendan's here to visit Sunny, and you're here to visit Brendan, who's going to be wrapping on my door for you, and when is the squad of assassins gonna get here? We've only got so much room at a dinner table, y'know.

The Central Labs Room Place Thingy

S'alright, accidents happen. Also, it looks like we've got another guest at the front door. She a friend of yours, Brendan?

Magtok points at a screen displaying live security camera footage in the entrance hall.

Cierra ignores him and quickly examines her surroundings, trying to figure out a likely location for Brendan and Sunny to be right now.

She probably won't have any luck and will end up picking a door at random, but she'll try at least.

Sunny is still being held by Miss Kale, I think.

And Brendan raises an eyebrow at the video screen. I've seen her, but I don't recall that we've actually met. Why? And, y'know, if Sunny's having an allergic reaction we really should look at it back at the base...

Uh-oh. Petard hoisting in progress?

[Lord Magtok]

[Labs]

Mag frowns.

It's a reaction to a medication that didn't exist until I made it specifically to combat her allergy to the traditional brew. I have my doubts that your league has more to offer on the matter than the MagCave.

[Cierra's Location]

The would-be rescuer steps into a room, and ends up on the balcony of a large, circular chamber, with The Squiddly Thing Not to Be Properly Named. Now Get Going. in the center, facing away from Cierra.

Cierra trains her pistol on the squid. "Alright. Where are Sunny and Brendan?"

[The Bushranger]

Yeah, well, her sister and the doctor-paladin who analysed your brew and administered the dosage are there, not here. And somehow I get the feeling your idea of medical care involves leeches and bloodletting.

[Lord Magtok]

[Cierra's Location]

Your firearm means naught for one such as we, child. We ask that you tuck it away before you harm yourself. Your friends are in Central Labs, safe and unharmed.

[Central Labs]

Magtok smirks.

So you're saying Quinn is more competent and up to the task, then. Can you tell me where Misaki is right now?

Oh, ouch.

[Neon Knight]

[Cierra's Location]

Not quite the response she was expecting, so she cautiously lowers it. "...I wasn't expecting you to be so cooperative."

[Bliss's Location]

Bliss is somewhere.

...as far as I know, she's safe and sound at GLoG? Brendan looks confused.


...he needs to get out more. >_>

IZK-alpha rolls forward towards Sunny.

Miss Kale shoots IZK-alpha a look that says to stay where it is. She looks over at Magtok. How long was he going to keep this up? Hmmm... Maybe if they had some kind of... witty banter/exposition generating drone... No. Stop it. More important things to worry about now. Mr. Magtok... should I go ahead and give it to him? She hoists Sunny up, indicating that she is referring to the hostage and totally not to tripping some kind of clever trap to knock Brendan out so he can be captured. Clearly. *cough cough* <.< >.> Yes.

IZK-alpha does not respond at all to Miss Kale's looks, and continues rolling forward.

"I... zak...?" Sunny mumbles.

[Lord Magtok]

[Central Labs]

Magtok nods.

Yes, go ahead.

[Bliss's Location]

She can feel free to wander about and/or find the rest of the pack, if she so wishes.

[The MagSquid's Quarters/Cierra's Location]

Indeed. But there has been more than enough aggression on our side, has there not? It is time for GLoG and HALO to make their move, further moves from our end would be...unsportsmanlike.

If the MagSquid could grin, it would.

((Back in an hour))

[Neon Knight]

...oh, if only Magtok knew.

[Bliss's Location/Central Labs]

Bliss wanders in.

[Cierra's Location]

Cierra frowns. "Look, just tell me how to get to the central labs."

[The Bushranger]

Brendan shrugs, although he looks sour at Miss Kale's seemingly referring to Sunny as an "it". Yeah, that's IZK. And I'm here too... he says quietly, tucking his pistol away to free his hands.



And yeah, if only he knew.

Very well. I will return the girl to you now. On the count of three I will release her and step back. You will then- An aperture in the ceiling directly over Brendan opens silently and a dozen or so minimags drop from it, raining down towards the man's head like so many bowling balls. Unless he reacts swiftly, he will be out for the count. -be tricked into dropping your guard.

Sunny tries to struggle free from Miss Kale and go into IZK-alpha's arms. But because of the drugs, this will only succeed if Miss Kale lets her go.

Bang!
Bam!
Thud!

Brendan's head is split open like a watermelon! knocked silly, and down he goes!

[Lord Magtok]

[Central Labs]

Magtok scurries over to Brendan to kick the gun to a far corner of the room. Can never be too careful, after all. He then peers up at the spot on the ceiling the minimags poured out of.

Huh. Don't remember when we got that. I think I'll start walking about with an umbrella now.

[The MagSquid's Quarters]

We apologize, but you have not been deemed a low enough potential security risk to allow for that. We ask that you remove yourself from the premises.

Now might be a good time to point out that each one of the MagSquid's tentacles look more than capable of wrapping around a human being and snapping their spine. Just a thought Cierra might want to bear in mind.

[The Bushranger]

The gun is in its holster in the small of Brendan's back. Might be a bit hard to kick it away.

Little birdies are circling Brendan's head. He appears to be unconsious.

[The MagSquid's Quarters]

"...yeah, no, I didn't come here just to be scared off by a sushi reject." Cierra starts looking for another door to try.

[Jacklu]

Miss kale lets Sunny go as soon as Brendan is down and out. She heads over to the knocked out fellow and looks at him with a sigh. Not the most elegant way of handling it... but I suppose we have a subject now. Shall I get him into the machine?

IZK-alpha carefully cradles his mistress. His LED screen flashes the message:

Sunny needs medical attention.

Unconsious Brendan is unconsious.

After some wandering, Marle - in a pretty red dress with white polka dots - finds her way to the MagCave. She looks around curiously, seeking a way in. To look for Cierra, of course. "Um, hello? 'Erra?"

[Lord Magtok]

[Back to the Future Main Hall]

Marle might be able to spot Cierra before she find herself another door to test out. She might also see a rather misshapen squid-robot thing hovering behind her, with a rather cold glare in its glowing cyan visual receptors.

[Central Labs Directory]

Yes, we should. Also get a MedBot and a scanner on Sunny. When that robot empath picks her head up, there's going to be a lotta explaining to do, or things are probably going to inexplicably break or something.

Cierra is in a hurry to find the Central Labs, so Marle will have to act fast to get her attention.
