I have them that way for two reasons.

One: I like them that way. Just seems more like sound to me.

Two: for when i make comics that have lots of scenery or people. Covering stuff up really ticks me off.

I could change the opaqueness from 50 to 75 or 80, maybe... lemme go see how it would look.

(im honestly more annoyed with the way his arms turned out... in some of the shots his cloak doesn't cover his arm and when he turns his head around it looks like his shoulder is where his neck should be)

For that most comicmakers learn how to layout speech balloons so they dont obstruct anything important.
I think turning up the opacity wuld be a good start, the way they are right now, is just making the speech balloons harder to spot and makes reading them feel rather tedious. Also they look kind of unimportant that way, like a bunch of side notes.

Perhaps you should try an alternative to speech bubbles, Kumo. Maybe add captions below your panels so that you have an unobstructed view of the entire panel while still conveying what is said.

Easiest thing to do is to make panels bigger and characters smaller. It also looks like you could use a smaller font.

I was going to make a comic yesterday, but I didn't get the chance to. Yesterday was my father's birthday.

I shall make one today. If anybody's commited to bringing ABR back to life, it's me. I've even said a while back, X2, that I've put all my other projects on hold just to keep making a bunch of ABR comics. ABR WILL see life again!

On another note, my Nintendo DS sadly passed away yesterday with zero hope for recovery. Pity me.

It would be Break in this instance, as in to damage or destroy, as opposed to Brake, as in to cause cessation of or otherwise halt.
