Then, when all the other kids are also getting dumped into the thick of things, Sora can be as well. Then, he and the other kids, together, can help put the Angry Janitor to rest. Hopefully sending him to Soul Society.

While, yes, the electricity cutting out makes it darker, it's nothing close to pitch black in the school yet.

1.)There are emergency lights. There would pretty much have to be, in case of a fire or storm.
2.)It is neither night time, nor in the middle of a heavy storm. Thus, there is sunlight. Coming through the windows.

So...yeah. I mean, it'd be a bit easier to sneak around, but they'd be able to see their way around, and they could definitely spot the occupants of the classroom.

Alright. I just didn't know a school would have such things. I know when I was in high school we didn't have cameras all over the place as some people seem to have implied they did and I really don't know about emergency lights. And yeah, I didn't think of sunlight. Who is even left in the classroom now that so many other people have gone off? I wish it was real dark so I'd have an excuse to ask whose there since I don't even really know anymore.

I think they have to have emergency lights, by federal law. It's the same as fire extinguishers and fire alarms. I'm pretty sure they are legally obliged to have lights. At least in America. I'm not completely sure, but it just makes sense. The other point of having windows still stands either way.

Maybe Kasanip could tell us if they have emergency lights in Japan?

For class 1, Yoko is still there, and I think Sora is too. Not sure on him.

It is important to the story that what we said the characters experienced was actually just totally false? I mean, it could just be one particular section of the hallway where Kina couldn't see and got confused as to which way they were going.

I didn't expect the sneaking part to work even a little, though. So not having that is fine with me.

I don't really see that it's a problem. I'm not sure though. There are a number of reasons she would be lost, such as unfamiliarity to the building, like you said.

Hey, psst, Moon Wolf, remember how we've been saying that there's plot intended for all the Mortal World kids with Gralster & the Angry Janitor? Because having Beck go into the basement, while your call, is kind of contradictory and possibly harmful to the above.

But, eh; do whatever, just keep in mind that Reene could eat her. Or, more likely, hang her upside down in a cocoon for a couple days. Or, even more likely, assign her another day/week/month/year of detention, which Beck's parents (?) might not be too happy about.

It was a simple heat shimmer to her. Her spiritual awareness was focused entirely on the development of her powers. Her ability to see spirits, or even sense them/other spiritually aware beings, is stunted because of this. She knows that she sees mirages and heat shimmers where no one else but people with powers do, and that Beck and Hasunaga reacted to one.

Had she seen a zergling pop through the window, she'd have been notably more alarmed and would have reacted to it accordingly.

Two items of business.

Item the First: Okay. We've kind of hit Step One in our big plot, but things are already somewhat...off the rails.

Originally, I think the idea was the various students would stay behind into the evening to help clean, or set up for a festival, or something. I think a "Trial of Guts" was involved. Part of the atmosphere that Kasanip had proposed was a sort of "ghost story".

For various reasons, things aren't shaping up quite like that.

Now, I don't think we should ram and railroad things back down the path. Instead, we need to think of some new reason for the kids, just the spiritually empowered kids, to be on the school campus late in the afternoon. Perhaps right as the storm mentioned in Episode 3 is rolling in? That gives us a "ghost story" vibe.

But we need a good, believable reason for them to be there. I don't have an idea yet. But I'm hoping others will.

Item the Second: It has been brought to my attention that there is danger of overlap and spotlight stealing between Sayaka and the Shrine and the Enclave, specifically in the area of "training the mortal kids".

So, I propose we merge the two. This helps both the Enclave and the Shrine.

For the Shrine, it brings in more physical labor assistance, easing the burden on Sayaka and her father. Though we probably ought to relegate the Enclave to things like dusting, raking, etc. Europeans, you know.
As well, it gives the Shrine more in-house trainers, and the potential to help drive away some sort of attack on the grounds. They can provide instruction on physical combat, help "gear up" some of the kids (if the players so wish it), and help Sayaka focus on handling some of the more general training and spirit information.

For the Enclave, it gives them a desperately needed base of operations and support structure. It also gives them a place to stay while they acclimate to this rather radically different place and time. OOC, it lets us field the Enclave even with the notably reduced roster.

Of course, this course of action is first dependent on Kasanip agreeing, and then also on a majority of the other Enclave players agreeing. But this might be our chance to give the Enclave a bit more of a showing.

But since I am too lazy to go edit, I will just assume Gralster took the shrimp's assessment of the situation to mean that everyone with spiritual abilities saw it, even if that is not the case.

It's not like he actually sees everything they see fully, and it is not like the things are actually intelligent.

A storm might be a reason to still be in the building. I mean, it'd probably be safer to be inside during, say, a nearby thunderstorm than it would be to be outside. I mean, I don't think there's much reason to have them there unless we create one at this point. Especially since we've created a great reason why they shouldn't be there.
