FFRP Central: All players start here!

I have several word documents, but rather than keep URLs in them, they're more like a collection of character sheets, containing info on the various abilities, items, spells and so on that they've picked up whilst they're here. I don't always keep them up to date, but they're accurate-ish for most of the characters I use.

Would there be any interest in starting an FFRP based on the concepts of the Touhou Project? We could call it "Danmaku in the Playground" or "Giant in Gensoukyo" or some other such crossover name (Heh, I'm so clever).

In order to keep things fresh and interesting, it'd take place in an alternate universe featuring only a few essential personalities from the main canon, with players taking control of their own original characters. I have yet to decide if players would be allowed to create male characters or if we'd stay true to the series and feature a female-dominant roster, but I'd be open to arguments from either side.

The plot wouldn't have to be too serious, as the games themselves can be very comical throughout, but there would be plenty of potential for danmaku-style combat. Players would even be encouraged to come up with original battle themes and spell card patterns for their characters, if they so desired to show off their artistic and/or musical talents.

I might come up with a plot or two for incident-resolution-style guided events, but by no means would characters be required to participate, nor would they need to be the only thing going on at any given time. In fact, I would encourage players to organize their own incidents to make the world more interactive.

Nexus is an original setting acting as a place in which brings from any given setting can find themselves entering for any reason or be born there themselves among the insanity. It's essentially whatever you want it to be, within what's already there, or can be reasonably added.

So, I'm a bit of a vet of RPing but not on here, so....yeah, feel free to throw me to the wolves and I'll RP my way through it in a good manner.

So, my general experiance is vastly associated with action and combat series, but I'm good with a variety. as long as the RP doesn't remain stuck in the dating/talking sections I'm perfectly fine.

Most of my RP experiance is over on Fanfiction in the forums on there, varying from COD to Fire emblem to Zelda to DnD and moving on. As long as I can fight at some point, it's something I'll enjoy.

Well....if you guys are taking on, can you save room for two characters? I'm still thinking about how exactly to make them vary from my norms which should be entertaining. (that and the weird thing is the weapons are what are catching me out)

Do you want your universe indexed here? Has it been active for six months or more? Simply PM me with the details you want added. You can use the format above, or write your own description. If you want a link to your character directory or OOC thread, this is fine, but it will be your responsibility to let me know when the links need updating!

We used to add new universes when they were created, but so many of them fizzle within a few months that it became impractical. If a 'verse can last for six months, it has a good chance of continuing indefinitely. (Except when it doesn't - hence the Inactive list...)

After a bit of searching I think I've found my place.

I was looking for a free-form RP to join and I think the Nexus is calling me, I already have a character in mind (though suggestions on how to insert him would be appreciated. I also need to read the last few pages to get a feel for things. so give me time.)

I have a game that I've hosted for years in table-top RPs but I've never tried it in a play-by-post forum. The thing is called Chaotica, and it's basically the same as Nexus but with a DM and apparently a bit more order (despite the name, I know). The system is designed to start and finish a story and has minimal mechanics. The focus is collective storytelling and just enjoying the madness. I made the system before I learned anything about D&D, so any similarities between them are coincidence. It's made for relatively fast campaigns where even the DM should be regularly surprised by what happens. Let me know if anyone is interested.

Still, I think Nexus has this particular niche covered, so I'll probably get warmed up there first. Any suggestions in that regard?

You can generally insert your character wherever you want, although the -sides, Trog's and Black Dragon's Den are favorites. HappyTurtle (who posted right above you) has links in the sig that might be helpful.

I've been here for a couple months now, and I've had the fortune to work with some great RPers on some very entertaining scenarios. I think those individuals deserve some public recognition. Anyone know where I might offer it?

Introduce yourself in the OOC then drop a character in and start playing. There's normally several people willing to be involved in an introduction scene. I, for example, generally have two or three characters spare at any one time.
