[Nexus] Good League of Good LVIII: Shaken, but not baked

Reelshka hears Mister Buttons coming just in time to fall off the rock she was sitting on to avoid getting mauled. Eeeeek! Other goblins turns their heads, see a giant sabretooth tiger and start generally panicking.

[Reinholdt]

Mister Buttons meows. This is a loud rawr. It's totally not intimidating at all.
He hadn't originally intended to hurt Reelshka. Just Hobbes pounce on her. Though now that he thinks about it, he is kinda hungry and they are kinda small and fleeing in a panic.
...
Nah. Not worth the effort.

He'll go over to Reelshka and bat at her a little.
Meow? RAWR!

[Murkus]

Praetorious will be assisting the goblins and others in constructing things, if he can. He turns, too, and watches with a bit of surprise. And confusion.

[Morty]

Reelshka flails, gets up and tries to flee in the direction of the other goblins who are bunched up and trembling.

[Reinholdt]

Hey! Wait! Where you going!
Mister Buttons gives chase!
In that sleek predatory form of his, his tail twitching.

[Murkus]

Praetorious moves with frightening speed to assist Reelshka, glancing between her and the cat. He knows it to be friendly, as it was with that other fellow, but if the 'goblin' really needs protecting...

[Morty]

Reelshka manages to get behind the group of goblins, who wave their tools around defensively. Despite having short legs, goblins are capable of quite amazing turns of speed when fleeling.

[Reinholdt]

I seriously doubt they can outmatch a sabretooth tiger's speed.

But that's ok. He stops a bit away and sits down, tilting his head at them and staring at them curiously.
Meow? RAWR!

[Murkus]

Praetorious hangs back as well, standing by one of the cabins, finding this all rather amusing.

[Morty]

Probably not, yeah. Goblins are still trembling, but it seems the big scary cat doesn't intend to eat any of them after all. But then again, it is roaring. They take a few steps forward to see if Mister Buttons lunges at them.

[Reinholdt]

Mister Buttons totally tenses up, but doesn't lunge at them. His tail flicks as he watches them.

[Morty]

Somewhat assured that the cat probably won't attack, the goblins spread out and go back to work... but they're still tense and expecting Mister Buttons to pouce them.

[Reinholdt]

As soon as the goblins start moving in his general direction, Mister Buttons bolts the other way and flees!
It was more fun when there was only one of them.

*glare glare glare*
"Right. Well I'll just go to the Weald myself and deal with it."
*glare glare glare*

"But what I really need from you right now is help with Melody. She's comatose." Reinholdt describes the situation on Gersemi's isle. Essentially, Melody was keeping the island invisible somehow and muttering "Apocalypse" for several days and now won't wake up.

Obviously, he's just going to plot clone to go to the Weald. Considering all the quests he's on, this shouldn't be a surprise. It's like he's desperately trying to make up for something by taking on all the most dangerous stuff he can think of...
I swear, one of these days, one of his plot clones are going to die and then the rest of hims will just asplode spontaneously.

"Or I could go now..." Quinn starts. The glare sliding off of her like water off a duck's back.

Seriously, she's married to The Gorram Tobias (Younger Version), like a little glare is going to do anything to her.

"...Melody's hurt?" she finishes, as Reinholdt finishes, her eyes widening.

And she rushes to the Infirmary to collect her things!

She could always plot-clone to go to the Weald as well.

Toby saunters into camp, his fedora set at a carefully rakish angle, and heads towards Quinn until he gets caught in her deadtime.

And Quinn undeadtimes (for about 45 minutes) and resumes scrambling around gathering an emergency medical supply kit!

Praetorious is here, relaxing beneath a tree after spending most of the morning, and part of the afternoon, working on building new cabins.

I could grow to like it here. They seem to value hard work.

He watches the sky, enjoying the breeze.

"I just got back from Melody's. She needs psychic healing help. Thought I'd check on Phoenix while I was at it and I see that no one went to the Weald to help him get cured. So... busy times. You?"

Garth is sitting under a tree right now, staring up at the blue sky. He's thinking and pondering and wondering.

I... I was just talking to you in the Taverna. You were upset... We talked about fighting Ebon Mirror. If Toby got tricked by a shapeshifter, he's going to be really angry.

[Reinholdt]

"That... was... huh? As soon as I got out of the MagCave after fighting Shepherd, I went straight to check on Melody. I haven't had a chance to visit the Tavern."
Oh plot clone continuity. How I had to think about you very hard.

Toby stares at Reinholdt, then changes the subject while he tries to figure out which of them he needs to stab. So who's Phoenix and why does he have to be cured in the Weald?

I swear, sooner or later we're all going to find out that one of the plot clones was Reinholdt Prime in disguise.

"Phoenix is a member here and a friend of mine. He's been cursed with vampirism. There's supposed to be a spring in the Weald with water that can supposedly cure that. I intend to go get some of the water and bring it back and all that."

Vampirism? I got infected with that once. He looks over Reinholdt's shoulder and smiles into the distance. My cure was... a little different. You need any help with that?

[Reinholdt]

"I'll take what help I can get. The Weald is a scary place." It's how he can turn pink and fly though! ... nearly becoming a will-o-wisp.

Yeah, sure. I have nothing better to do. He shrugs, then heads into the infirmary to get some extra gear. A canteen of water, his first aid kit, his Ranger survival pack, about ten extra weapons... He's all set!

[Reinholdt]

"That's kinda... yeah. Ok." Reinholdt can't complain. He has so many weapons hammerspaced.

He'll try to lead Tobias and Quinn to the Weald after snatching Nadas so Nadas might get some screen-time, but it's rather unlikely.

[The Bushranger]

"If by 'cure' and different' you mean 'staked in the heart' and 'True Resurrected', yes, yes it was," Quinn comments. As she's ready!

And off they go!
