The Poisoning of the Book

In eons past, there has only been one universal history. They Sylvan Scribes are the ones who record that history. That's all they do- watch. Never act. They do not seek to change the world- just to record it's changes.

But now, many young recruits of the Sylvan Scribes have recently acted against that code of passiveness. They have taken an active interest in the world- experimenting with evolution. Many have created so-called "Evolutionary Spheres"- areas where animals and plants quickly evolve, and where magic becomes wild. Here, random and bizarre things occur, and undiluted nature reigns supreme. You have been hired by the Sylvan Court to investigate these Evolutionary Spheres- to determine their properties, how they are made- and most importantly- how to destroy them.

You have all been requested to gather around a large oak tree just outside the border of the nearest, and most recently created, Evolutionary Spheres. You were supposed to all join up at this tree, before investigating the Sphere further.

[Shade Kerrin]

Rebecca trudges along the road from Sidereach, the occasional glint of reflected light visible from her chain shirt despite what seems to be a deliberate application of dirt. She yawns as she reaches the tree, before sitting against it, he sword set to rest upon her lap.

[Lix Lorn]

Emily was already waiting under the tree, waving as the girl approached. A large, very large sword was lying next to her.

[Shade Kerrin]

Prior to sitting, Rebecca spends a second examining the blade, followed by an examination of Emily's figure. Satisfied that the size of the thing is not just a bluff, she takes her seat at the base of the tree.
"Had much practice using that thing?" she asks as she removes her sabre from her side.

[Lix Lorn]

"Quite a bit." she replied cheerfully. "Have you?" she said, nodding towards the sabre.

[Matar]

A rather tired Luke slowly makes his way to the tree. When he gets close enough to offers a polite smile and wave to the ones that were already there.

"Hey."

After saying such he plops himself down on the grass, enjoying the sun as much as possible. It didn't matter if it was hot or not, a bright sunny day always felt better then a cloudy and cold one.

As Kaiser approaches the tree. "Good thing walking long distances within a day are not a problem for me." He then props himself against the tree while saying. "Kaiser is the name. Glad to meet ya"

Rebecca glances at the two new arrivals, before nodding slightly.
"Plenty of practice, yes"

As you gather around the tree, you finish talking to each other, and you begin to head out into the sphere. You don't really notice it as you pass by; it's a kind of haze in the air that you more feel than see. As you cross the membrane into the sphere, you see the inside. And then you realize just how much was going on inside the sphere in the week that the sphere was up.

Giant insects skitter across the ground, and plants that you recognize, like lettuce, seem giant. Oversize draconic-looking insects with four wings fly around, breathing small puffs of fire, and the trees all look ancient, especially compared to the young plants just outside the sphere. As you continue into the sphere, you get the feeling that you're getting watched...
