The skeletons now notice the party waiting in the passageway, and turn from the holy power of Alanna. They retreat down the opposite passageway once again.

Alanna is pleased at her success. "Aw, yeah! Let's go bash those bones into meal!" She grips her mace with both hands, ready to charge and finish the job. She only holds back until she hears Ash confirm or deny that the plan is to charge.

Bran opines, "Those skeletons seem harmless for now. I guess we can wait after we explore the rest of this dungeon to deal with them."

Bran does not mention it, but he actually enjoys staring at the turned skeletons. They give him a delicious shiver of fear, just enough to be pleasant.

[Nevaera]

"If there is anyone else here still, we'd best not let them sneak up on us. I vote on exploring further rooms cautiously."
"Maybe Mycah can scout cause he may notice or dodge a potential pit trap better. Whatever you both think is best."

I hope no one dies by my carelessness.

Ash tries to keep her breathing steady and calm so she doesn't miss anything happening around her. She fights the pain of the remaining sting left by the magic missiles that hit her in this room and remembers that some of the others still feel this as well.

She follows at the back with her bow ready as the party moves through the room(s).

The prisoners seemed to have spoken truthfully. There seemed to be no exit from this room other than the one the skeletons just fled down.

[Koren n'Rhys]

Mycah nods his agreement to Ash's suggestion that he lead, scouting down this final corridor. "Can you hand me one of the torches so I have a good light source, please?"
He grips his staff in his right hand, torch held high with his left and when the others are ready, will carefully head down the tunnel/corridor, eyes scanning for anything seemingly out of place and tapping ahead with the staff - a technique that seems useful since it allowed him to find the pit earlier.

Artanis kept up with the front of the party, ready to shove the people in front out of harm's way if Mycah failed to detect a trap.

While I do not fancy death, I will not let it claim others who are beginning to flourish. I, on the other hand, have yet to prove myself against this puppeteer of the dead.

Alanna follows silently, holding her mace in a position that clearly indicates she's prepared to unleash smashing doom on any enemies.

Nathros remains ready for action.

Brandon stays close behind Artanis, sword and shield ready.

Ash keeps her bow at the ready, though she ponders switching to sword and shield.

Mycah treks ahead cautiously. The passageway slopes steeply upwards, and a few cracks in the floor bear investigating, but turn out to be just cracks.

The tunnel gets slightly more winding as it approaches the surface, and after a particularly sharp turn, Mycah spots the skeletons ahead, anxiously milling about a mere dozen feet away. Beyond them, sunlight glitters off an enormous spiderweb that blocks the tunnel entrance.

Mycah ducks back around the corner.

"Now here is a time when fire might actually be a good idea," says Nathros with a grin.

Artanis merely snorted and pointed out how easily they could solve this problem.

There's most likely a spider there. However, webs are flammable. All we need to do is push all the skeletons into the web, set fire to the web, and watch both the dead and the spider cook.

He decided to put his sword away and to get prepared to cast a spell if the spider that could weave a web of that size decided to show up.

"Hmmm… I think fire sounds like a good idea…"
Alanna wishes she had some cloth to tie around her mouth and nose.

[Koren n'Rhys]

Mycah has no arguments as the others suggest a barrage of fire.
"Seems liek the safest way to handle them, now that they are trapped. We have plenty of oil. But do you think there is a spider? That necromancer fled this way, so maybe it's a magic web? Couldn't that be, Talsarios?"

[Nevaera]

Ash pieces things together from what she over hears at the back and votes, "Sounds like a good plan either way. We could probably wrangle them with a rope held between two people, then two others with shields for support in the middle."

Brandon leans his back against a wall while the party discusses what to do.

He muses, "Well, one thing is for sure. The necromancer didn't flee this way. He would have made a big hole in the web if he did."

Mycah has no arguments as the others suggest a barrage of fire.
"Seems liek the safest way to handle them, now that they are trapped. We have plenty of oil. But do you think there is a spider? That necromancer fled this way, so maybe it's a magic web? Couldn't that be, Talsarios?"

"Wait, there are magic webs? Really?"

Bran sounds skeptical.

"Maybe he just fled through a secret passageway. I think that's more likely than magic webs."

[Altair_the_Vexed]

"What? Yes, of course there are magic webs!" Talsarios says, apparently amazed at the question. "They last for hours. Our Necromancer must have expected us to be following him immediately, and cast this behind himself to stop our pursuit....
"As for rounding up the skeletons - won't they continue to flee from you, Alanna? You know - into the web?"

[MeanMrsMustard]

Alanna shrugs. "I think so. There's a whole lot of magical stuff that I don't quite understand, but as far as I know, the very forces that make undead are opposed to the holy forces priests like me channel. If my force is stronger than theirs, it'll scare them. And skeletons don't take much force to make. I'm pretty sure I could keep turning them all day long -- or until we destroy them."
She coughs after her little rant, then finishes with, "Whatever we decide to do, I think we should do it soon and not waste too much time talking."

[Nevaera]

ASHALA

Ash snickers a little to herself then exclaims, "Alanna. I think this would be that opportunity to charge you were looking for."

Nothing interrupts the party's deliberations.

Artanis took time to spot if anything was dwelling on the web.

Bran looks for secret doors, taking care not to wander or search anywhere that is too close to the skeletons.

Ash will support Alanna in approaching the skeletons if no one else does. Otherwise, she'll be at the back, waiting.

Nathros remains alert for danger.

[Koren n'Rhys]

"I agree, Alanna, we're wasting time. WHhy don't you see if they just try to flee from you? They don't seem smart - maybe they'll just run into the web on their own."
Mycan has his staff handy, realizing his dagger won't be much use, and waits to see if Alanna has any success.

Artanis doesn't spy any spiders or anything else of note in the web.

The skeletons continue to to mill about before the web, none of them running into on their own.

Artanis decided that if Alanna decided to move up in order to drive them into the web, he would move up as well so that if things went wrong, he would be able to move her out of harm's way.

I'm not sure about how safe this idea is but I shall not let anyone die... my dream shall not intrude on the real world.

"If only they had facial expressions, we could guess what they're planning..."Talsarios mutters. "Come on fellows, let's get the blighters!"
He draws his sword, holding it up in what he hopes is an encouraging heroic manner, but in fact merely betrays his lack of skill with the blade.
