Re: Nexus OoC IV: We're All Mad Here
Wait, ****, I hold it until everyone's gone to RL sleep just so I can have a pee in peace and there's a body in there?!
. . .yeah I'll roll with it.
Oh yeah--alert me if any band employs woodwinds, I have a bacchanal weakness for woodwind music.
Let's throw a wrench in the works. Is the body not responding because my own magic is so weak and new, or is it that on the festival grounds powers without song are worthless?Last edited by Quincunx; 2010-10-07 at 06:33 AM.

Probably a note needed for all the dorf tunnelling too.

It's written, but nothing a quick delete-and-repost-after-appropriate-parties-have-posted can't fix. Retconning is fun.

Re: Nexus OoC IV: We're All Mad Here
@GLoG cabins:
Does anyone want me to give our currently just numbered cabins names? And if so, what sort of names?
<.<; Since I made the most recent topic, the duty of fixing the first post falls onto me.

Re: Nexus OoC IV: We're All Mad Here
If the lake is named for the phoenix, maybe the cabins could be named after other mythical creatures? Unicorn, gryphon, et cetera? Or maybe those names would be too... violent for GLoG's images? Normal animals, or types of flowers, could also work.

Re: Nexus OoC IV: We're All Mad Here
Let's see....
1. Willow
2. Oak
3. Sycamore
4. Redwood
5. Maple
6. Apple
7. Pear
8. Chestnut
9. Birch
10. Dogwood
11. Olive
12. Cedar
There's twelve types of trees (including one for the infirmary and one for the main lodge). I feel like Willow should be the infirmary for some reason, and that Redwood should be the main lodge, but the rest are up in the air.
Any important trees that I missed?

Re: Nexus OoC IV: We're All Mad Here
Reelshka is going to be deeply shocked everyone else is able to tell the trees apart from each other.
And now that I think about it, Reelshka could make use of the dorf tunnels. Her colleagues would be pissed if they found out, but still. My FFRP characters. Avatar by Ashen Lilies. Sigatars by Ashen Lilies, Gullara and Purple Eagle.

@_@; Um...is there possibly any way we could maybe narrow this list down just a tad? We've only got twelve cabins right now...

I have to admit I've been thinking of the cabins in GLoG as being an arbitrarily high number.Last edited by Lord Iames Osari; 2010-10-07 at 11:33 AM.

Re: Nexus OoC IV: We're All Mad Here
Since somebody mentioned coming up with 11 mythical monsters, I think I'll have a go. I'll try and avoid anything humanoid.
1) Griffin/Gryphon/various other spellings
2) Hippogriff
3) Chimera
4) Hydra
5) Dragon
6) Camelepard
7) Manticore
8) Roc
9) Leviathan
10) Behemoth
11) Kraken
There's also Unicorn, Pheonix, Bugbear (the medieval version was merely a giant bear, not a goblin), Hippocampus and Spinx.Terrowin Avatar by HappyTurtle. Much thanks!

Re: Nexus OoC IV: We're All Mad Here
1: Elf
2: Dwarf
3: Bugbear
4: Orc
5: Vampire
6: Werewolf
7: Goblin
8: Pixie
9: Troll
10: Satyr
11: Nymph
12: Angel
13: Demon
14: Zombie
15: Kitsune
And those are just the humanoids. Though I was more concerned with coming up with 12 mythical creatures that tend to have a positive connotation to the way they are represented in mythos, or at least are positively represented frequently enough so that it would not cause a problem trying to use those names in a setting like GLoG.
Much as I can try, I cannot imagine that there would be no heads turning if they were to walk up to a GLoG cabin, only to find a picture of Tiamat on the front door.

Re: Nexus OoC IV: We're All Mad Here
Well, maybe if Dr'zzlt shows up in our world.
By the way, I did this while trying to explain to Lix Lorn the various organizations in the NEXUS.
NO- The Neutral Organization. Not good or evil. They just take contracts from whomever has need of their skills. Located in a cold northerny iceland.
PACK- Perfectly Appropriate College for Kids! Where all the younger Nexus characters hang out. (Nexus being the world in general), this is for characters under the age of 16.
GLoG- Good Leage of Good. Formed to rehabilitate formerly-evil characters towards good deeds. Located in a foresty area with log cabins. HALO is another good organization, but apparently hasn't seen much action lately.
AMEN - Amoral Men (and Women) of Evil Nature. I made that one up myself, but AMEN is the group to go to if you are of the evil sort. Evil ranging from just sorta being villains to outright world domniation to horrible horrible evil tendencies. Evil.
WATCHTOWER - ....I'm sure you could think of something given enough time. This is an evil-fighting organization, but by no means is it like GLoG. Their opinion of evil is that it should be cut down, decapatated, and have its head put on a pike. They are vengeful. They do not like evil one bit.
