I've found invisibility definitely hurts.
Not giving much room for plausible interaction also hurts. When people don't have a clue what to do or even what their character's would do, they tend to not post. Or just gape.

Is this a plot for Ant characters? Because I don't know if I can come up with an in-depth enough background for a character like that. You can't skimp on the details or motivations for such characters. Oh my, yes.

That's one idea. I'd been thinking more along the lines of... you know. Walking out the front gate. Then back into Inside. And completely ignoring anyone who tries to stop me.
