[spoilers] plot of Dreaming Dark trilogy

So I just picked up a copy of Secrets of Sarlona and was thinking about basing a campaign on it, but then I see that Kieth Baker has already wrote a trilogy on the Dreaming Dark. I was wondering if any of the info in SoS would need to be modified due to the developments in the trilogy.

I'd like to know:
Who the key players were. Was it a traditional good vs evil thing or were the kalashtar involved?

Did it take place in Khorvaire or Sarlona? Both? Maybe a bit of Dal Quor?

Is Reidra still a country? Is it in civil war or something?

Did the heroes find a way to permanently kill the Quori? If so how?

Has canon been altered forever the way Wies and Hickman mess up Dragonlance everytime they come out with a trilogy?
