[Nexus] GLoG 64: Campsites, not Chessboards!

Reinholdt shakes his head. "Uh-huh. You told me what you already knew Dawnwolf had told me. Therefore your information had no value. Tell me something I don't know and then maybe we'll continue this exchange."

"Oh, I had no idea that you knew that. A honest mistake of course. Perhaps you should tell me what you already do know about the idol so I won't make the same mistake again? I really don't want to continue to give you information without any value." Helios replies, the eyes and mouth going back into their natural position.

Reinholdt will explain everything Dawnwolf told him about herself and the idol. Leaving out the Helios is an untrustworthy jerk part of course.

[Reinholdt]

"Interesting, well this makes things so much easier." Helios replies calmly. "Your running out of time then if the guardian is haunting you so I will go straight to the point. The idol doesn't contain her 'spirit' or 'soul' or whatever you or that thing inside it want to call it. It's just a trace of her personality that remained with the power I contained within the idol. I wouldn't even call it alive." The god says as his eyes shift towards the idol once again that doesn't really seem to hear this conversation. Or just not comment about it.

"Your not saving anyone here Reinholdt, if you return the idol to me, I will make sure it's safe and used responsibility or even destroyed if it proves too dangerous. And I will also get rid of the guardian in no time at all."

He seems to pause to see Reinholdt's reaction. "So what do you say?"

[Reinholdt]

"No. It has a personality and is therefore alive. And I promised to not let have another master. So how about, you just tell me how to destroy it and I'll do it myself and everyone's happy?" It's pretty obvious Helios wants the idol himself since he asked for nothing in return for this 'favor'.

Hmmm. If the robots need any help, I can get my co-workers and employees here, but that'd cost a bit.

"The robots can do it. They're very efficient," Sunny says. She looks over the plans carefully. "I estimate 40-50 robot hours of work, and there are three of them here. And then once the building is done, Mainframe will come and help set up the computer network."

Reelshka bites her lip. I suppose you know the capabilities of your... robots best. Grimzig would probably try to dismantle them to see how they work, too.

"That makes things a bit more complicated I'm afraid. See technically the idol is my property, even if you currently possess it at the moment and I don't really wish to have it wasted." Helios replies and then pauses.

"What about this, you travel to the magcave and put a certain bug I will provide into mainframe then you make a new circle there call me and I will personally destroy that idol along with the guardian. How does that sound? And yes, this is spying of course, but don't worry. I'm not planning to do anything with the nexus, I just want to learn more about it."

"Hmm... no. How about, you provide me the means of destroying it myself and then I'll tell you everything about the Nexus that I know. I know quite a bit too." He keeps himself informed of quite a lot of the going-ons.

((Now providing Reinholdt doesn't really mean the means to destroy himself...))

Helio's eyes observes Reinholdt a while before he responds. "That is acceptable. What about you step inside the circle and I will give you the information you need and simultaneous take the information I need from you? And again, don't worry, nothing else will happen in there. I'm true to my word."

There was totally an it in there the whole time. >>

"I'm sure..." Reinholdt is quiet for a moment. "Though I need you define take the information from me very, very closely."

Reinholdt considers something else. And starts pulling out his cell phone to dial up Quinn. While this doesn't particularly seem like one of those situations Sunny was talking about, it very well could turn into one if something went badly. He supposes a second opinion wouldn't hurt as well has having someone know where he was and what was going on.

"Oh, just general information about the nexus, locations, people, connections, organizations, powers, structures, machines, relationships and nothing more I think." Helios says and then pauses once again. "Most about the old days really, you are a quite old-timer here after all and I know quite a lot about the present nexus."

The mouth turns into a smile again. "Is that specific enough? It could take a while to be even more specific and you do have a guardian haunting you as far as I am aware."

[Just outside the Infirmary door]

"Yes, Brianna...

...I do."

Quinn raises her sword to the sky, and calls on the power of her Goddess. The Goddess of Pixies and Death.

And there's a sudden flash of blue light...

SHAZAM!



"In the name of Neirian, I command you!" she shouts, levelling her sword at the growth-covered building, Divine Power flowing through her voice. "Be gone! Leave this place and this dimension, and return - nevermore!"

SHE HAS THE POWER!


Mikani, meanwhile, is staring slack-jawed at her mother...

There is another howl as the darkness seems to flee, the sun showing it's face over glog once again as all lights returns to normal. But it isn't banished, it's somehow bound here by something and just takes refugee some place else in the nexus, haunting the idol still.

The fleshy substance remains to cover most of the guest cabin however.

[Outside/Between Cabins]

Zanny dismisses his circle with a chord once the darkness is lifted. He gives Nancy a reassuring smile, one magically encased with a small jolt of courage. Enough to get her to let go, hopefully.

Then he takes up his lyre once more, and begins strumming it. The music tries to work its way into the woodwork of the flesh-stricken cabin, bending the wood to his will. Which is to slightly animate and push the fleshy growth away, atomically separating the two substances if needed. He's no druid, however, so the magic is forced upon the cabins and may make them slightly misshapen, if it works.

Mikani snaps out of her stunned staring at her mother, who it suddenly seems can Transform, herself.
Quinn's been holding out on her!
...and starts trying to blast the fleshy substance with her 'pew-pew unnatural stuff Druid Earth Magic Go-Away Beam'. Which needs a better name.


Quinn, meanwhile, would help, but it seems her phone is ringing.
And so she answers it!
"Good League of Good."
Reinholdt might find her voice sounding...different. In a 'divinely powerful' kind of way.

Finally, she shakes her head. No...sorry.

Krystal nods. Yeah, sure. Come on in.

Claire sees the bodies and winces. exiete, corpum. she whispers to herself. Do you have any wine?

Probably some in the kitchen. Let me go check.

While alone Claire grabs an owl feather and a pearl from her pockets.

Krystal returns with a bottle and two glasses.

Found it.

We just need one glass. Claire hands Krystal the owl feather and the pearl.

Krystal sets everything aside and takes the feather and the pearl.

Wasn't sure. Figured I'd better be safe.

Step one: p-p-pour the wine. Claire nods to Krystal.

She sets the feather and pearl down, then grabs a glass and the bottle and pours.
