Jamie shakes her head. "Er, no. Although I guess from bad psychics too. But from bad people in general who want to hurt people. I'm a protector," she says with a broad smile.

Butler wanted to be a superhero at one point. Then he got superpowers and never used them. Go figure.

Jamie giggles and nods.
"Yeah, really! And my friends will help me do it, too!"
She doesn't correct Butler. Since, for once, he's actually right.

"Wow ma'am. That's a lot of protectors ma'am. Are they all necessary ma'am?"

He didn't even use his super powers to clean really well?

That's kinda sad...

"I have the feeling that this is one of those things we'll have to be doing on our own," Avatar signs. "And I really do hope that just taking Zee to her home world and then taking her back will be enough to clear her life-shaping ability. Even if she can't use it anymore when I bring her back at least she won't be a demon anymore."

At this point he wrinkles his nose a bit. It's a very Zee-like gesture.

"...she would be a totally normal human in the Nexus. That's pretty dangerous."

"Unfortunatly, yeah." Jamie nods, sighing. "But when protectors work together their protection gets stronger still!"

[Recaiden]

[Outside?]

Anchor shakes her head. "I don't think I can protect things with you, Jamie. I'm a killer, born 'n raised. And afore you bring it up, yeah, once upon a time I would have been." She laughs.
"The saying was 'As a good shepherd to their flock, are we to you', but that was ages ago, when we dwelt among material beings. Now, 'I am a hunter. You are my prey.' is the order of our lives. So don't count me there, okay? Like I was saying. No protection is worth anything if you can't destroy."

[Reinholdt]

[Infirmary]

"I suppose it does ma'am." Butler states, having no real idea.

And then deadtiming.

Ahhh. No worries, and sorry.

[Outside]

Mikani frowns a little sadly. "And you don't think you can change? But I'll still be your friend regardless, she says to Allie, the frown turning back into a smile. "And maybe it can do more stuff but I just don't know how to do it yet..."

After all, the only 'offensive' attempt has been against Alysha, who Mikani knows full well wouldn't hurt a fly.

"Yeah. It is." Quinn frowns, and rubs her chin in thought. "Assuming though that she couldn't re-learn her abilities, I suppose we could get some sort of armour or something?"

Like the low-profile Schlockarmour Erin sold Sunny!

"Me? Undo two thousand years of meddling and Zophiel's heritage as well, by myself and in my short span? I doubt it." Anchor smiles back at Jamie and shakes her head. "No. I think we're all of us cursed forever."

Awwwwwwwwww...Mikani's gonna cry, isn't she?
Nope. But only because she goes to hug Allie first. Quickly. But managing to smile.
"A curse can be broken! But no matter that. I guess I could try to see if I can use it offensively..."

The wand might not like that, of course.

"I could probably track down her old steam armor again with relative ease. I think the Empire still has it," Avatar comments, leaning back in his chair a bit. "There's no obstacle that I've encounter yet that can keep me out. And if push comes to shove I can just reach in the top-"

He then sticks one arm perpendicular to reality.

"-and pull it out."

And pull it out he does. In his hand is some random object from a nearby cabinet. Being able to move perpendicular to reality is very useful for getting places you aren't supposed to go.

"They might get fussy about it but Zee'll need it if she's going to survive here. I... could help her directly. But she can't survive me melding with her for very long. She wasn't ever meant to when I was sent here in the first place. If I had followed the plan she would have been totally consumed in a few days."

[Recaiden]

[Outside]

"Maybe. I still doubt it. It is very much what we are, me moreso than all." Anchor returns the hug and tries to pat Jamie on the head and take her sadness away.

That would probably be one of the Nancy Potions.
(No, they don't turn you into a Nancy, rather, they were made for Nancy.)
"Well, they can toss their fussiness into a lake. And I'm certainly glad you didn't follow the plan. I...think we'd all be lost without her," Quinn says softly.

Mikani is patted on the head. And the sadness goes kapoof!
And she smiles.
"I guess you're right maybe. Still though. So. How about some ice cream?"

Perhaps they can get it offscreen, as BR has to head to bed shortly. Will post Home. G'nite!

Avatar sets the random trinket down on the cabinet again. From across the room. Without moving. His arm doesn't stretch or anything like that. It just looks really strange.

"Yeah... I was supposed to create a foothold here for Mother to take advantage of. Come to the Nexus in force with the help of her Cultists. Probably could have manifested directly. And... That wouldn't have went over well..."

Regnnora devours 12d6 PCs per round.

The presently human-looking eldritch terrorhorror offers have a smile.

"I'm glad I'm on my own now. Getting reintegrated would be like losing a drop of water in the ocean. Everything I learned would just be disregarded. Mortals are irrelevant tools. All life must be 'adopted'. And of course I've been deluded into believing that Father Deios is anything more than just a very powerful example of our own Kind. Thankfully He modified me enough that reintegration would probably be impossible now."

A deep sigh.

The smile grows.

"Yeah... would have been lost without her..."

Quinn merely smiles softly, nodding in agreement, and offering her guest a cup of coffee, not wanting to break Avatar's pleasant thoughts.

"Well... Thanks for... uuh... curing me of the psychics. I'm totally better now," Avatar comments, giving Butler a sidelong glance. "I'm sure it won't be killing me since I am in no way ill as a result of it any longer."

Not to self. No use of telepathy at Butler.

"I had best get back to the tavern. I'm not sure when Zee is planing on leaving. But I'll need to be there to see her along. Hopefully it won't be too long of a trip."

A swim through the Far is always... harrowing to say the least.

Even for something that lives there.

Reinholdt nods. Looks back at the others, and decides to step a bit away for some more privacy, waving at them to let them know everything's under control. "Alright. I think that's perfectly fair. But a Mr. Moth wants you back. And in order for me to help you, you have to give me some information alright? Let's start with some introductions. I'm Reinholdt. Who are you?"

There is a bit of a pause before the idol replies. "I am what remains of Dawnwolf, god-spirit of the wolfen along with my beloved Fenris, caged here so I wouldn't be go to my eternal rest."

[horngeek]

Meanwhile, a figure approaches GLoG! Not a new figure... several members would recognise her. The flame-red hair, reaching down to her shoulders, the freckled pale face.

Brianna Corcoran approached GLoG, and heads for the Infirmary.

There is a bit of a pause before the idol replies. "I am what remains of Dawnwolf, god-spirit of the wolfen along with my beloved Fenris, caged here so I wouldn't be go to my eternal rest."

[Infirmary]

"Fenris, huh? I'm a little vague on my mythology, but I don't think I've heard good things about him." Reinholdt frowns slightly.

"So what happened to you then? You were killed, but your essence caged in here?"

[Shadowcaller]

[Infirmary]

"Mrrgh... the story is very long and I doubt a mortal like yourself have patience to hear all of it child, but I can give you the short version." The idol replies.

"Me and my kind rebelled against our creators, the oni, we managed to kill them, but one of them continued to live within me, corrupting me from within. It made me commit terrible crimes against my children and eventually my own mate Fenris had to put me down." There is a hollow silence here where Reinholdt only can hear the beating of the idols heart.

Then the idol continues. "I didn't die thought, the oni within me made me live. Corrupting my mind and flesh for hundreds of years to come. Fenris was long gone since then, not having the courage to kill me once again. Instead a group of mortals, much like yourself came and ended me and the oni within me." There is another pause as the heart beats a bit slower.

"But the mortals were tricked by the god who guided them, Helios... As my spirit was about to fade into nothingness, Helios suddenly trapped me within this idol, telling me I was 'too important to die'. He kept me for long a long time until he gave me to some of his servants who used the power I still carried for their own, until I was stolen from them by some others... To make a long story short, I eventually ended up with this Alexander as a master."

And once again the idol falls silent.

[Reinholdt]

[Infirmary]

Reinholdt is quiet for a bit, mulling things over.
"Interesting story. Plausible. Fits what I know about magic items and such things." In short, believable.

"What power are you refering to that you still have? Furthermore, what happened to the oni within you when Helios trapped you?"

[Shadowcaller]

[Infirmary]

"I am deeply connected to the spirit world, the oni created me and my brothers and sisters to take care of it after all. But I find no reason to tell you my exact powers if your not planning to use them anyway." The wolf spirit tells him with a low growl.

"As for the oni itself, oni as they are, can not truly die. But this one saw it's defeat as a sign that the world no longer belonged to them but the mortals that had defeated it. I felt it's life energy fade into nothingness, embracing it's own end. It was a quite strange creature."

[Reinholdt]

[Infirmary]

"Yes. Very strange indeed."
Reinholdt frowns in thought.

"So how would one go about releasing you from your prison so that you might pass on properly?"

Brianna chooses this moment to knock on the door!

[Infirmary]

"I... I am not certain, the bounds of Helios magic keeps me here, but I fear I do not understand my own cage, no matter how I try to tear it up." The spirit admits.

"Someone knowledgeable in magic might be able to tell I hope, or you could go back to the source, Helios himself. That is a sure way to know, but Helios is a liar and a dishonorable thief, his services won't come for free."

[Reinholdt]

Brianna chooses this moment to knock on the door!

Which door? The Infirmary?
In that case Butler will open it.
"Hello ma'am. How may I help you ma'am?"
Course I don't know anything about Brianna.

"I... I am not certain, the bounds of Helios magic keeps me here, but I fear I do not understand my own cage, no matter how I try to tear it up." The spirit admits.

"Someone knowledgeable in magic might be able to tell I hope, or you could go back to the source, Helios himself. That is a sure way to know, but Helios is a liar and a dishonorable thief, his services won't come for free."

"Hmm... ok. Well then there are two problems that I have. One, whether to let you free. This hinges almost entirely on believing you to be truthful and the oni actually being gone. As you said, it is very strange for an oni to just give up like that. I don't know much about them, but it doesn't seem to me like something one would do. I really can't say, and as you see, this is a problem. I do not believe there will be any intention to returning you to Alexander Moth, however. And I need to talk to Nancy to learn a bit more."

"The second problem of course would be in finding a way to get you free if that's the route we'll take." Or finding a way to keep the idol safe if it's not.

"Just to inform you so that there aren't any misunderstandings about intentions and such."

"Hello there. I'm looking for Quinn. Is she around?"

She's got... quite a noticeable Irish accent. The sort that gets mocked at times.

At least she isn't speaking Gaelic.

Also, she's carrying a spear. Very ornately carved.

"I have no reason to lie or be worried, all I have told you is true. So go and check with your mortal friends if you wish, they can only support what I have told you, unless they lie of course." The wolf spirit replies.

"Just don't turn me back to that man, or any others that might use me and I will be eternally grateful with you child."
