[Nexus] GLoG 64: Campsites, not Chessboards!

[Nancy's Cabin]

Reinholdt looks at her oddly.
"You sure? Is there something else I should know?" Reinholdt goes ahead and pulls the idol out of the satchel. "Calls itself Dawnwolf."

Nancy stares at it a few moments before she catches herself doing so. "Dawnwolf? It really speaks then? I... had no idea, the name doesn't sound familiar to me at all." She pauses, looking at the idol again.

"I can't say for certain, but I think that insane idiot, Alexander, used it to open some sort of portal to some place. He called it 'home'. I was stabbed at the time, so don't expect me to remember any clear details." Nancy opens the door a bit more to be able to see the idol more clearly. "What did it tell you anyway?"

[The Bushranger]

Quinn nods, then covers her mouth to stifle a giggle...

...as Jamie's eyes go wide.

"Auntie Bri?!" she cries, and suddenly lunges forwards to try and tacklehug Brianna!
She's stronger than she looks.

[horngeek]

"Eh?"

And Brianna's gotten even tougher. Isn't even winded.

She is confused. "...Jamie? What? It hasn't been twelve years!"

[Reinholdt]

[Nancy's Cabin]

"It does speak. She said she was Dawnwolf, lover of Fenris. An oni was corrupting her and she was killed and sealed in here by Helios. She has a strong connection to the Spirit Realm and that's probably what Alexander was using her for, as well as your group for your dancer god thing. She wants to be free to move on to her resting place. That's what she said anyways."

[The Bushranger]

[Infirmary]

"She grew up fast. Plus we did spend a bit of time on another plane, too." But not that much.

Jamie nods and grins as she lets go of the hug. "I only just barely rememeber you I was so little back then," she admits, giggling cheerfully. "But I do and I'm soooooo glad to see you! I can do lots of neat stuff now too!"

"I'm sure she'd rather have something to eat than watch you show off, dear."
"Moooooooooom!"

"I can eat and watch Jamie."

Brianna chuckles.

Huh. She seems to have gotten over that pretty quickly.

[Nancy's Cabin]

"Oni?... Helios?... That sounds way beyond me." Nancy replies with a glance at the idol and then shakes her head as she closes her eyes, "I better not be near it anyway... I think it's connected to my addiction somehow... just be a good boy and keep it away from me will you?"

[The Bushranger]

[Infirmary>Outside]

Well, everybody in the Nexus grows fast.

Jamie grins broadly, and starts trying to pull Brianna outside. "C'mon! It's so cool and I can do stuff and protect people and it's really neat! So where have you been, what have you been up to, and do you have anybody?" She giggles.

Quinn shakes her head and leaves Brianna to her doom as she sets about fixing a quick snack in the kitchenette.

[Reinholdt]

[Nancy's Cabin]

"I don't know what addiction you're talking about, but don't condescend me or call me boy. If you want something done, ask POLITELY."

Flaming Hawt human sniper Reinholdt puts the idol away and turns to head back to his cabin.

[Shadowcaller]

[Nancy's Cabin]

"Eh... sorry?" Nancy tries, not even realizing how she really insulted Reinholdt there, social interaction really wasn't her strong point. "I mean, I didn't want to insult you or anything." Her attempts to excuse herself might fall on deaf ears however.

[horngeek]

Brianna follows Jamie, smiling! "Well, I've been doing some stuff for my mother, Brigid. She's had some trouble lately, and couldn't deal with it herself."

[The Bushranger]

"Well, that's good. I hope she's doing OK! I'd like to help mom and dad more but they won't let me, they say I'm too young."
Jamie pouts, then snatches up a stick, and the pout turns to a grin.
"Ready?"

[Reinholdt]

[Nancy's Cabin]

"Fine, fine." Reinholdt calls over his shoulder back at Nancy before returning to his cabin and pulling out the idol there.

"Well there you go. Story is definitely backed up."

[horngeek]

"She's fine. And yeah, I'm ready."

[The Bushranger]

[Outside]

Jamie smiles, raising her stick into the air.

"I am the Druid Princess Mikani, defender of nature's beauty and leader of pure hearts!" she cries out, as the wind in the campsite kicks up, swirling around her!

And, in a swirl of wind, ribbons and cloth, she...transforms!

"Ta-DA!" she declares, grinning and holding her wand in both hands.

[Shadowcaller]

[Reinholdt's Cabin]

"See?" The idol replies. "Now would you find one that can break this spell? Being in this state is encumbering. Being so far from my children... I just wish to move on before someone else tries to take advantage of me. Alexander can sense where I am you see?"

[Reinholdt]

[Reinholdt's Cabin]

"Ah. So that's how he knows where it is then? Who is he? Where is his quote home that Nancy was talking about?"

Brianna chuckles. "Cool trick. What else can ye do?"

[The Bushranger]

Mikani curtseys, and grins.
"Well, I can control the earth a bit, and make Dire Kudzu attack people," she explains. "I have a little wind and water control too, but not as much as I'd like, I'm still working on that."

[Shadowcaller]

[Reinholdt's Cabin]

"As far as I can tell, he's far older then any real mortal, he somehow keeps himself alive by consuming 'vitae' from tortured mortals. He might be some type of spirit, or a spirit possessing a mortal. But this home he is talking about might be the spirit world itself, my previous home." The idol tells Reinholdt.

[Nancy's Cabin-->Zanny's Cabin]

Meanwhile Nancy is knocking on Zanny's/Darcy's door.

[Zanny's Cabin*]

No answer. Dragons slumber no matter what time of day, though I have no clue what Darcy's up to.

It takes fifteen seconds for Zanny to wake up properly, get dressed (magically), and open the door. He gives a beaming smile.

"Oh, hello Nancy."

*Which is the guest cabin, actually.

[Reinholdt's Cabin]

Reinholdt sighs. He'll have to tell Quinn that and see if Alexander can't be taken care of in a more permanent basis.

"Alright. Any idea how to contact Helios should that become necessary?" Reinholdt asks.

Reinholdt is also in the guest cabin.

Mikani curtseys, and grins.
"Well, I can control the earth a bit, and make Dire Kudzu attack people," she explains. "I have a little wind and water control too, but not as much as I'd like, I'm still working on that."

"I might see if I can help you on the wind and water, I've got some abilities in that area."

[Shadowcaller]

[Confusing Cabin 1]

"If you really do need to contact that creature, make a circle out of ash and then just call his name." The wolf spirit replies with a low growl.

[Cabin of Confusion 2]

Nancy smiles back a bit, now wearing some of the clothes he and Darcy bought for her. "Hello Zanny... um, can we practice again? I like to learn more magic so I can defend myself. I think some vampire used magic on me last night in fact, and then used Butler." She states.

[Reinholdt]

[Guest Cabin - Room D]

"Yeah ok. I'll talk to some mages first before it comes to that." Granted Reinholdt doesn't know many mages that might be able to do anything. He'll probably end talking to Helios in the end.

[Guest Cabin - Room This One >.>]

Zanny looks a bit shocked.

"A vampire? Butler?"

The bard frowns.

"Yes, I think we should continue with your lessons. Speed them up, if its a problem."

[Shadowcaller]

[Guest Cabin - Room D]

"Good, thank you Reinholdt, mortal." The wolf spirit replies before the idol falls silent once again.

[Guest Cabin - Room Z for Zanny]

"Do what you think best, I just like a way to defend myself from things like that." Nancy says with a nod, stepping inside the room, closing the door behind her. "Is Darcy here by the way?" She asks curiously.

[Reinholdt]

[Guest Cabin - Room D]

Reinholdt will put the idol down on his nightstand before crawling into bed to go to sleep. He needs to think about who to visit.

[Guest Cabin - Room "Z"]

"<Answer depending on whether or not Darcy is actually there.>"

Zanny produces his lyre once more.

"Now... Offensive magic isn't exactly a bard's forte... But I can teach you to make sunlight to combat vampires, and other illusions to face other foes. Today's lesson will focus on manipulating light, to create it or destroy it. Even bypass it all together, and turn invisible. Though it takes more advanced magic to muffle sounds and smells."

Once she is ready, he will begin to play a simple and rhythmic sound. It doesn't do anything, but ties the magic with the light and sight.

"Try to copy me, as you did before."

[Shadowcaller]

[Room Z]

Nancy attempts to copy Zanny once more, perhaps sounding a bit nervous this time around, but is clearly learning. It's likely she have actually practiced on her own.

"...so what sort of illusions can you do? I can't help to notice you look a bit different now then you did in the citadel when we were there." Nancy asks once the song is over, smiling a bit.
