    well, we didn't exactly ask to join this "force" but i guess they're the good guys.. right?

    Dwin walked up to the stage and accepted the medal all with a stunned expression on his face. The sheer brutality of the mans punishment suddenly made him feel very out of his depth.

    Talking with the refugees yields no further information except to reinforce that most were taken off guard by the attack and the fort itself was severely unprepared for the assault. Without the arrival of Captain Blain the fort would have surely fallen.

    Asking questions about Captain Blain reveals that many if not all of his soldiers respect him. They consider him fair and loyal to those that follow his orders. Most think he is slightly rules bound but in all fairness, many of those are alive today due to his leadership and tactical skills in battle.

    After about an hour the group walks to Captain Blain's office and enter. They notice the Captain examining a map of the area around Bluff Hills. A number of small red pins dot the map. An aid with a stack of papers stands to his side and Sergeant Aramil is on the other side of the map.

    The Captain bangs his fist against the side of the wall, "Were in the blazes is he holed up?"

    He turns and looks at the group, "Well now, maybe you can help me find some answers."

    The Captain moves behind a desk and sits down. Sergeant Aramil moves to his side. "We have three problems: 1) Someone is spying out settlements and caravans in the area and providing Uskos with details information, 2) Someone is supplying Uskos's forces with superior weaponry, and 3) We don't know where Uskos's current base of operations is so we can not mount an attack."

    He pauses as he looks at each member of the party and then continues, "Your assignment, lieutenants, is to find out who is acting as Uskos's spy, who is supplying him with his weapons, and, most importantly, where his current base of operations is. Sergeant Aramil here will be your liaison. He will provide you with any reasonable supplies and answer any questions you may have. Dismissed."

    Looks hard.. speakin' has never been my best skill... i'm more of the "slash first, ask question later" kind of guy..
    anyway, we'll do our best..

    i suggest first we go speak to the blacksmith for the weapons and the guards, maybe they saw someone going away from the fort..

    Sergeant Aramil looks at the group nodding, "The only information we have is the invaders attacked at night. They were better organized and high quality weapons than those normally carried by orcs and ogres. If you must know of what quality than I suggest you talk with the fort's weapon smith. We know that the Ogre commander had a hand drawn map of the fort with guard positions and schedules. And the only other information that we have is that only three groups have came to this fort and left before the attack, those would be a family of entertainers, a prospector by the name of Horios and a traveling halfling merchant by the name of Roin."

    In my lands, when an enemy somehow got a map of our troop disposition and guard schedules, we would just re organize it all...
    it would be a good idea toset new patrol groups, schedules; then heavily control everyone who wants to go out...
    we'll go talk to these persons anyway

    The dwarf looks at Zurkon and then at the others as he seems to grin, "So I might. It seems that these invaders had very impressive weapons when compared to others of their kind." He walks over to the side and pulls out a great sword, two short swords and a few hand axes - he drops them onto a blanketed workbench. Each glints brightly in the rooms meager light most provided by the fire in the hearth.

    The dwarf points down at the blades, "These are of master work quality that is for sure, but they were made by various weapon smiths throughout the Flanaess. I would wager they were acquired through some sort of middleman, a weapon supplier perhaps."

    He pauses as he considers for a moment and then he looks back up at Zurkon, "Ahh, yes. I only know of one weapon supplier in this area able to handle this sort of volume perhaps. He lives on the outskirts of Sennigford south of here. His name is Valian and it is well known he supplies anyone if the price is right."
