Jamie trails off, looking curious.
"Really? What sort of ideas?"

[horngeek]

"All right.

It may be that whatever the source of your powers is has a reaction against being bound. I'm not sure, although I could probably test it."

[The Bushranger]

Jamie frowns thoughtfully.
"Well, maybe. How would you test it?"

[horngeek]

"Scanning any magical patterns you have both when you're bound and unbound, and seeing if there's a difference.

Also, what you mentioned earlier about 'can't be tied while transformed' suggests that to me too."

[The Bushranger]

"I guess that would make sense, yeah," Jamie agrees, nodding slowly. "I'm not sure I'd want to find out, though."

[horngeek]

"Given that, it's entirely your choice whether you want to continue learning to escape or not, given it will involve a lot of practical work."

Zamira waits for Jamie's response!

[The Bushranger]

"Well...I probably should. Just...I guess I'll have to kinda work up to it, y'know?" Jamie sighs.

[horngeek]

Zamira nods. "That's fair enough. Maybe tomorrow, then?"

[The Bushranger]

Jamie nods.
"That works for me. And thanks for helping me out, Miss Zamira. Especially for the tracking."
She grins.

[horngeek]

Zamira grins. "That's all right. See you tomorrow, then."

She'll accompany Jamie when she heads out!

...and then go looking for Shrike.

Claire walks up to Jamie Want t-t-to learn m-m-more magic?

Jamie heads out, and spotting Claire, smiles. "Well, maybe. What kind of magic?"


Zamira will find Shrike in conversation with the deadtimed Sarah.

Zamira sits next to her, and smiles. "Hey there."

m-m-more small tricks. Clare says.

"Oh, hey there, Lunar mine." Shrike grins. "I'd introduce you to the moppet here, but she seems to be deadtimed..."

"Sure. I guess I can try. What have ya got?" Jamie asks, grinning.

In any case, Sarah waves at Zamira. "I'm, uh, Sarah. Who're you?" She glances at Shrike. "And what's a moppet?"

Orich, the little girl's monstrous guardian, glances at the new arrival with dull interest.

"My name is Zamira, and I'm Shrike's mate."

Well, Zamira is a dark-skinned foxgirl, with silver tattoos all over her body, and red hair with white at the ends.

H-h-have you ever t-t-tasted a color? Claire asks.

Jamie shakes her head. "Never. Is that even possible?"

Shrike chuckles and smiles at Sarah. "A moppet is a little kid like you. Otherwise known as a squirt, squid, or kiddo."

((Aaaugh. Dragged off. Back ASAP.))

Sarah looks skeptical, but suddenly breaks out in an amused smile. "That's all just silly." Then she quirks a brow at Zamira. "Mate? But I thought that meant..."

Some people have that. like V-v-victor. Claire squeaks out the last bit.

"I'm a Lunar Exalted, and each Lunar Exaltation is bound to a particular Solar Exaltation. In this case, to Shrike's. While that does manifest itself in a number of ways... in our case, 'mate' isn't an inaccurate description."

[Murkus]

"You're bound together? For life?" Sarah ponders that a moment, glancing at the grass. She's barely got her head around the whole Exalted thing. "Why?"

And since I don't have a character sheet for her yet: the little girl is blonde, round of face, with large sickly-green eyes and a little white dress.

((back, for a little while))

"It's complicated," Shrike says a bit quickly to Sarah. "But we share a bond through our Exaltations, yes. And it's because we're stronger when we're together than we would be apart."




Jamie gives Claire what she hopes is an encouraging smile.
"I'd love to learn how to do that. It might be useful for tracking."

Char walks in. She looks around for someone powerful.

Char might spot Shrike and Zamira, Sarah and Orich....

"Miss Zamira is teaching me how to track!" Jamie declares. "And if I could taste colors, maybe I could see scents of something?"

[Murkus]

The mass of chitin and metal that is Orich listens quietly, some interest apparent in his gaze.

Sarah remains perplexed, and glances between the two Exalted. "No, I mean why does this special bond exist at all? Besides your personal choice of... mates." She quirks a brow again. "It is a choice, isn't it?"

Claire looks at Jamie It's just a trick to flavoring f-f-food with that color spell.
[camp entrance]
Char scans them with detect good.

Char, essentially, gets 'Don't try to rate with absolute terms.' from Zamira.

Because, you know, Creation doesn't have absolute morals. So, no reading.

She looks at Sarah. "Well, the bond itself isn't voluntary... but it could have taken different forms, and that was my choice. I chose to feel as I do towards Shrike."
