Beyond the iron black door is a pair of spiral staircases. One is labeled "employer", the other "employee". A well-groomed halfling greets you and says, "Good sir, what will it be? Looking to place a job or find one?"

[Niezck]

"Find one I think, yes, definiately."

[planswalker]

"Very well then. Follow me." He takes you up the stairs marked "employee" and opens the door. "Mind if I ask you a question?"

[Niezck]

"Depends on the question."

[planswalker]

"Why come here for work? Surely there are safer ways to earn your keep."

[Niezck]

"If this is the work I think it is then the answer is simple - there is nothing more thrilling and ultimately satisfying than the chase, the capture and the execution of the one you seek."

[planswalker]

The halfling smiles. "Ah, one of those crazies, then. Well, have fun up there. I'm sure there's someone as nutso as you. Have a pleasant time." He seemed genuinely cheerful.

The second floor is a labarynth of intersecting hallways with rooms along them. Each hallway is labeled with a descriptive name of the kind of jobs found within.

Pre-planned assassinations eould be awesome if possible.

[planswalker]

Along the rather short hallway labeled "Pre-Planned Assassination", there are eight doors, four on each side. Three of them have name plaques in front of them, indicating that there is employment to be found within.

[Niezck]

Valore walks down the corridor, checking each door individually before returning to the first available one and slowly opening it.

[planswalker]

The threee names are Johan Schmidt, Freidrich Tomkin, and Mark Gorburg.

You enter Johan's door. Inside, a voice from the ceiling says, "Name?"

[Niezck]

"Unimportant. I either lie to you or tell you nothing at all, either way it is irrelevant. Who's the target?"

[planswalker]

You hear her give a small laugh. "Very good. You're definitely in the right place. As to the target, I am a facilitator, not the client. IF I decide you are worthy, you will be given the location of the client and a slip opf paper proving you're approved by us, and you and he will work out the details. Now then, what do you do? Why should you be considered competent at this sort of job?"

[Niezck]

"You give me a mark and I'll show you what I can do."

The elf takes the bow off of his back, swinging it in front of him as he runs his hand down the wood.

"This, this is foebane. Best bow you could want. Perfectly balanced, perfectly strung, can kill a an without him seeing or hearing anything. From far enough away that you'll never be caught. Especially if you mix in a bit of the old Purple Worm, if you catch my drift."

[planswalker]

"You seem competent enough. Come on back." A panel of the far wall slides back and you can see the source of the voice on the other side behind a desk.

[Niezck]

Replacing his bow, Valore keeps his hands hovered over his swords as he approaches the desk.

Ready an action to draw swords if they show hostile activity.

[planswalker]

"Now then, Mr. Schmidt had one other question I am to ask you. What references can you give?"

[Niezck]

"None in this forsaken city. Best that way though, nobody to recognize my work."

[planswalker]

"The best answer."

She hands you a slip of paper with the address of your new employer. "The two of you will negotiate out the specifics."

[Niezck]

Valore replies as he looks down at the paper, studying the writing on it carefully before stuffing it into his cloak pocket.

"And when my job is done? Should I return here, will I find more work or should my services be offered elsewhere?"

[planswalker]

"Most employers will continue with their current employee if they find you competent. If not, then you may return here."

[Niezck]

"Very well. Good day to you ma'am."

And with that Valore leaves, heading to the address he was given.

[planswalker]

The estate of Johan Schmidt looks to be rather small and on the unkempt side. The lawn is rather undecorated, and the house in in minor disrepair.

[Niezck]

Valore circles the house, checking for all windows, door and other forms of exit. He tries to remain silent in doing so, hopin to locate a way for him to sneak in while also retaining knowledge of the exits should something go awry.

Unfortunately, a servant heard you sneaking around, and a man calls out from within. "State your business or get lost."

[Niezck]

Feeling rather embarassed, Valore stands up straight and brushes himself down.

"I'm here for the job. And might I say, what a vigilant servant you have."

He approaches the front door as he shouts, deciding it best to treat this formally from now on.

[planswalker]

"Snooping around your future boss's place is a bad way to start things off. Come in the house."

[Niezck]

As Valore walks through the door, he outstretches his hand to Mr Schmidt, where ever he may be, and walks toward him.

"I make a point to always know my exists. The name's Valore, you are Mr Schmidt I assume?"

[planswalker]

"Indeed so, and would appreciate it if you kept your paranoia for the job. Now then, here's the deal: I want city guards dead. You will get 500 gold per liver brought to me fresh from a city guard. If you ask any questions, you will not receive pay. And yes, I will know if the liver did not come from a city guard and you won't be paid for it. We have a deal?"

[Niezck]

"Do I deliver them here and if so, in any particular manner? Is there some form of receptacle you wish me to use? And finally, do you have any particular preference of liver race-wise?"
