Layla smiles at the man. That had gone easier than she thought it would. "Ok, we can discuss that later." She pauses a moment. "I guess that would be the prince handling that?" She thinks aloud absently running the back of her head. Oh well. That could be figured out later. "If you don't mind. What is your name?"

I'm Stein. No family name.

He... probably should have been less abrupt there. Maybe there was something to talk about? Sword-play was probably out of the question, by her looks, and though he'd love to pick another anima mage's brains, thamaturgical discussion could most definately wait for later.


You're Layla, correct? You mentioned something earlier about a... Soth, was it?

Nice going, Stein, he congratulated himself. This social interaction thing was a piece of cake.

Oh, he was about your height. White hair, blue face tattoo. Didn't talk much. Dressed more like a mage than a swordsman. Don't know much else about him. He just sort of vanished on us.

"That was the last time, wasn't it? I'm not sure. Either way, he's not here, any more." He shrugged. "We've also had an ancient, psychotic shaman, a perverted priest, a she-he pegasus knight... Too many others to remember." He nodded, then looked back at Stein. "Ah, well. That's enough about us. Where are you from?"

Elizabeth had remained unnaturally quiet during the conversation, trying not to think too hard about the puddles of monster blood she and the others were now trudging through. She wasn't squeamish, far from it, but it was just getting uncomfortable how invigorated she felt by the massive amount of dead.

She tried to listen in on the conversations the others were having, noting some odd details here and there but not contributing. I need to find something to distract myself... Now what were the others talking about again? The tendency of their companions to come and go so swiftly? She doubted any of them were dead- there was no evidence of that. More than likely, they'd just jumped ship to get away from the crazy.

"Ashley's disappeared on us, too." Elizabeth bit her lower lip as she nearly fell over onto one of the dead Mauthe Doogs, shaking off the haze. "Considering her past, maybe she didn't want to fight these mons- these guys? Whatever the case, I hope she's well."

Off one unpleasant subject and onto another. Ashley was probably the one who best tolerated her, and a good friend besides. Her disappearance was part of the reason for Elizabeth's discomfort. C'mon, there has to be something I can use to distract myself! She spun around suddenly, looking towards the third of the trio of friendly faces; the one who hadn't spoken yet.

Getting no response from the third new addition to the team, Elizabeth chuckled nervously and turned her attention back towards the rest of the group. "Neither of my parents had much talent for magic. My father was actually one of the black sheep on his side of the family for it- he had at least two siblings talented with dark magic.
