    Default Simple Legends

You Legends must save the day. Far away there are heroes waiting on you.

Discuss your plans here for now. I know I'm not giving you much in the way of setting or a map now, and that's prolly all for the best. You guys can start making it up now and we'll finish it as we go.

    Thanks for patience!

    William

"Given the Seer-Queen's words," Will says, pointing to a city on the map, "this is where we're headed. I was thinking... this way." With his finger, he traces a path from their current location, across plain, forest, and plain again to the city. "That puts the Kelsharon Woods as our only obstacle. There are some stories, but even if they're half-true, the faster ways look more dangerous, and the safer ones seem too slow."
He looks up at his companion(s). "So, any thoughts?"

[OOC: Sorry if anyone had a different idea. ^_^o SpENster, if you were thinking more OOC planning than this, let me know, and I'll change it.]
    [For convenience, reposting his sheet]
    Spoiler
    Show

    William the Lore-Master of Swinefullness
    Legend

    Strength: 3
    Dexterity: 3
    Agility: 4
    Intelligence: 7
    Constitution: 3

Background: Will was known for being a brilliant young scholar at a well-to-do university. While he refused to specialize, instead dabbling in whatever topics and fields struck his fancy, his research found connections and fresh insights a dedicated specialist might have missed, and so contented the university to leave him to it. They reconsidered this policy after a magical experiment of his backfired, demonstrating that there may exist details and established fundamentals a dedicated generalist might miss: Will managed the dubious achievement of turning himself into a pig.

As ordinary spells failed to turn him back and the experiment destroyed most of the texts, notes, and research on what he'd done, the most skilled with magic pooled their resources and managed a solution. It isn't perfect: he could best be described as 'mostly human,' the counter-curse only keeping the original curse at bay. Worse, they are uncertain it will hold forever.

Horribly embarrassed by his condition, William spent the next few weeks heavily invested in fixing himself. Then he left the university, concluding the knowledge he needed could only be found elsewhere. During his travels, he's managed some limited control over the curse, learning to use the advantages it affords him -- few and humiliating though they may be. Still, he's always been the curious sort, and it is an interesting development. He's confident he can sort it all out.

    Destiny: The Bore

Little does he know it, but William is destined to be the Lord of the Pigs and as he goes forward on his quest he will become -more- of a pig, and not less. Slowly, his intelligence requirement will lower until he needs none at all; his pigdom a true might and mystical force all its own.
As you make advances in the path of the pig, your intelligence will lower and you will gain Pig-Sense instead. During this critical period you must manage both to be above 0, which will be hard at the beginning of your transformation and at the end of your transformation.
You will begin with epic spells, based upon intelligence. These will diminish in power. Instead, you will begin to learn Pig-Magery in the same way.

    Magery: Method of magic
    - Chant-Magery: Instead of attacking you may gain 3dintelligence Magic Power Points. All accumulated points vanish at battle's end.

    Spells
    - Fireblast: Use 7 Magic Power Points, do 4XIntelligence + Dexterity attack damage.
    - Static: Use 4 Magic Power Points, do 3XIntelligence + Constitution Counterattack.
    - Accumulate: Drain 2dintelligence Magic Power Points from a target and gain that many yourself instead of attacking.
    - Haste: Use 5 Magic Power Points; instead of attacking you may effectively double a target's agility for the purpose of round order next round. May be used multiple times in a single round (i.e. you may cast it more than once, but only it) If used multiple time, will add +1 to the multiple (go from a X2 effective agil. to a X3 effective agil.)

    Piggery
    - Utility trait: Endless Hunger: Pigs just gotta eat anything and everything.

    Jim

"Meh, lets go already. I've yet to see if any of you guys are worthy enough to use me." - Jim says, lazily standing up from his comfortable sitting.

    Sheet, just in case:
    Spoiler
    Show

    Jim The Scythe-Shifter

    Strength: 3
    Dexterity: 3
    Constitution: 3
    Agility: 3
    Intelligence: 3

Background: From his very childhood, Jim has seemed to possess a unique ability. He has been able to turn into... scythe?.. But his power was more than just that - soon enough he discovered that he has enough potential to become the best weapon in the world, perhaps even more powerful than some legendary artifacts. Now he's looking for a highly qualified individual to use him and achieve great victories with him. And he's going to be picky.

    Scythe Form Abilities:
    Spoiler
    Show

    Scythe-Shift:
    Spoiler
    Show

10% of the time at the beginning of rounds you transform into a scythe and hop into a team-mates hands who will then do an attack for you on your turns that does 2 X (Your Str) + 2 X (Their Dex) + 5 points. At this point you cannot control whom you hop into or who is attacked, but all losses will affect you not the host. Enemies will not be able to attack you directly on these rounds but all losses from the host will also hurt you, yet the host will not be able to use you on their own. Additionally, the host's turn is not used up when this comes into affect. On rounds that you are a scythe, your turn order is chosen as if you have 2 Agility.
At the conclusion of a round as the scythe you will gain 1dIntelligence Weapon Master Points to use on abilities until the end of the fight.

    Human Form Abilities:
    Spoiler
    Show
Swing - At the cost of 1 WMP, you may double your chance to be in scythe form next round. This ability may, at most, be used once per round.
Made of Iron - At the cost of 3 WMP you may add 12 points to your counter-attack score. You may do this after both you and your enemy's final points are selected but before the roll for winner is made.

    Consequences:
    Spoiler
    Show
    A) Weaponless: As a result of your inner form, you will not be able to use weapons even in human form.
    B) Rusts: After leaving a round as the scythe, you have a 5% chance of losing one constitution point.
    C) Inanimate: After leaving a round as the scythe, you have a 5% chance of losing one intelligence point.
    D) Farm Tool: You have a maximum of 4 Int points.

    Fate:
    Spoiler
    Show

    A) Destined for Death - You are and always have been destined to be the next Death. On your travels you will encounter him and, should you kill him, become Death - mighty user of the scythe. At this point you will be a dual entity: Both Death and the Scythe you have always known. Additionally, once you become Death, you will no longer need to change form and will gain additional Death-related abilities. As a result of this choice your stats will all initially be 3 and your max cap will be 5. Also, you would start with all 4 consequences... for only those that start near death could ever become him.

"So this is what the great Legends do?!" you guys are rudely interrupted by a two foot tall, but quite mean, apparition. "Seriously guys, you're acting like a two-headed hydra with three-quarters of a brain. What, wanna fight? Is that what it is? You wanna fight me? You think you can fight me?" He starts punching the air.

    ...and why is he here?

Barely paying attention to the strange figure as he says this, Will gathers up his things and gives Jim (and the others?) a 'whenever you're ready,' look.

[OOC: Garus looks kinda like a Legend, and ThirdEmperor seemed interested in that; think we should wait for him?]
[Also, like the character, Critical. A cool concept with a cool destiny; it has me picturing the game and everything in it in Soul Eater's style]

"Hey you think I'm short, you think you can ignore me? You say you're some kinda Legend, what little punks you wimps are. What kind of hero can you be without some sorta representation? I heard through the whirlwind that you wanted to be some sorta Legendary people and I thought I might be your trainer... mkay?

But hey, you don't want nothing then you ain't gotta take nothin' No..no..no! Not from me. You just go off to McUnderAttackville and fight two-ton beasts all by your puny selves. Asking if you wanna fight!! Not me, silly chumps, the beasts! You wanna fight the beasts? Cuz, if you do, I'm your guy. But hey, if you don't want my representation, go on out there then and die... but you gotta fight me first, cuz ya've got me all cheezed off

"Hm, Trainer of Legends..." Will brings a hand to his chin, interest vaguely captured. "I don't recall ever reading about such a thing..."

He gives the matter a moment's thought. "As I understand it, we're in something of a hurry. But it'll take us long enough to get there, so..." He looks to Jim. "I say we give him 3 minutes or so to make his case. How much difference could it make?" To the miniature man he gives an appraising look. "So, what can you do for us, and what do you want in return?"

[OOC: Ah, a shame about ThirdEmperor. But eh, whaddayagonnado?]

ooc: I'm forcing a decision on you guys now, sorry. Oh, and ummm.... ooc thread at some point, kay. it'll be for both parties too! That'd be nice. I'll do that later. Don't worry too much about my time comments earlier. I'm doing the story parts very tongue-in-cheek. Battle = serious Roleplay=a tad bit melodramatic, at least for my touches 'n' tastes.

The attack is 6 versus 1d3 for william's defense. To not have too many reposts I'll do that on random.org really quick..... 2!

    6 v 2!

Now, rolling an 8. On a 6 or less the imp wins! ..... 8!

    The Callah loses!

Picking a punishment for the Callah:

Caught off guard, the imp has a 15% chance of losing its weapon!

Taking this as a sign that Callah is too tired to present a threat for the rest of the round, the lore-master sets his sights on the most energetic-looking of the imps.

Will hasn't sampled flash-roasted imp before, but he holds off on that; among other reasons, like hangups over eating still-living things he hasn't gotten past, he has no idea where it's been. He goes for the dire injury. Much more humane.

On the off-chance I'm just blanking, I'll say the 25 at Callah and the 15 at Abacus. Or the 15 at Baha, if Abacus is dead for some reason I'm not getting. Still, if it's at all contingent on Will eating an imp, that didn't happen.]
