I do find it amusing that the Gotei's reaction to the events...is to do exactly what Takeshi said was going to happen. Promoting a member of the Gotei into the Kido Commander position and all. Or trying to. Even if it's well intentioned to get around the Central.

Indeed it did. Though for the record he doesn't believe what he's doing is -right- either. This goes beyond morals, this goes on to Duty. He doesn't think what he's doing is the right course but he thinks it's the -only- course. So he's going to do it and stick to it regardless of his personal desire not to.

So, an explanation is due for my irritatingly-long absence. As mentioned earlier, I had a few emotional gut-punches. All well and good, things worked out, huzzahs and tea all around. At the end of that week, I moved to a new apartment. That's when things got fun. And by "fun" I mean "the stupid telecom company managed to fail to properly connect my internet for a week straight." I wish I was making that up.

As-is, I'll be catching up with current events over this weekend and posting again ASAP.

Incidentally, are there any happenings directly affecting any of my characters I should know about immediately?

Ok. I hope strawberryman can explain. I think that I am very confused of this group now after to read recent SWORD posts. Reading opening post description, it did not seem accurate description of SWORD, but it is old too. I don't understand how the organization has this kind of information.

However, can you please write a new description for SWORD?

I thought SWORD was villain for Mortal World characters and Soul Society characters, but description says "Enclave" but no Enclave now. I did not know there was "Envoy to Seireitei" and it is difficult to know what I should think of them.

...Well, Draken did mention to me he could adapt his enclave character to SWORD, and he would be an ambassador to the Seireitei. However it doesn't seem like he's taken the changes into account. Not shifting blame, I admit I could stand to do some updating on the Wiki page. But I can't exactly add Nathanael as he is.

EDIT: Ah, you mean the opening post desc. Well, it could be easily adapted to "antagonistic to the Seireitei/other groups", but that would be up to Frozen_Feet to change, and while I can contact him on this front I don't know how much attention he's paying to this thread. That said, the wiki page is a little more up-to-date.

Glad to see you return. If you have characters in Soul Society, the Kido Corp. was just gutted and several of their members have run from Soul Society. Von Geister made his presence known in the Mortal World. A massive explosion was also experienced off the coast of Japan that could be felt from Hawaii, so that's a big-ass boom. Also, people were fighting Sereg, one of the Espada, in the Mortal World, though I think that's over now. Anything else I missed?

I can't speak for Frozen, but I don't think he's left in a definitive fashion. As per his own words, he wouldn't leave his characters without tying the appropriate loose ends.

If I'd decided to leave completely, I would've said so upfront when making that decision.

Anyway, I think one of our initial priorities should be to find new players. Not only is our roster severely diminished at the moment (seriously, we've got three Espada spots and well over half of the Divisions Captain-less), some fresh ideas could be a big help. Thus far the most I could suggest to get the ball rolling again was a zombie-like plot, and I'm afraid that's a little unimaginative, even for me.

One thing I realized too late: 13 Captains and 10 Espada were too many. We decided early on that they should not be overtly involved, which meant that people were effectively making characters for nothing. If we'd really wanted the "lots of low-power folks" concept to work, we should've discouraged "ultimate good/bad guys" from the start and focus on, say, one Division on the Shinigami side, fighting equivalent Hollow power in the Mortal World.

Now, it's a bit too late to do much about that, though.

No-one updated the Story so Far list, eh?

God dammit, people! You do realize it'd make it much easier for new folks to join, or older people to return if that list really gave a picture of what's going on? Now, I have to slog through everything you wrote in my absence and write it down. Gee, thanks.

I'll be honest: I took a break partially because I wanted to see if this game would still work in my absence. You all know how much I've done keeping up the registry and the wiki, but I've done even more coaxing people to post behind the scenes and trying to keep them filled in with what's been happening. Since it seemed like this game was falling apart nonetheless, I lost my interest in doing just that.

Seeing that there are good many new pages up, I guess you've been managing. Somehow. More on that after I've gotten myself up-to-date with the threads.
