Re: Touhou II: Story of an Eastern Thread
Not bad at all. The closest thing I've found in my collection after a quick search is this, which clocks at 388 and is quite nightmarish in Ninja Mono. Demetori's Strawberry Crisis and Faith is for the Transient People aren't half bad either, although they fall a bit short traffic-wise.

I don't know about numbers, but this is one of my favourites to play.

Wild and Horned Hermit 10-12 have been translated. And include a new male character.

Re: Touhou II: Story of an Eastern Thread
You mean all the people with zero lines and who generally never even show up on screen and are just referred to? Genji and Unzan are the only ones of them to be in games and I believe Iwakasa is the only one who ever has any lines.

Re: Touhou II: Story of an Eastern Thread
For all the Hisoutensoku fans in the thread, here, enjoy this Patchy vs. Whoever omnibus. Quite proud of this collection of fights, actually. All of them back-to-back when I was actually playing, by the way. It was one hell of a roll.

Re: Touhou II: Story of an Eastern Thread
I'll be up for that in, uh, a week or two, maybe. Because the unholy combination of a new computer plus Diablo III plus Steam sales will keep me slightly busy for a while.
So it looks like ZUN's release for C82 is another music album, yay. More Renko and Maribel is always good, and the song selection for new remixes is interesting to say the least (Fate of Sixty Years, Heartfelt Fancy, Youkai Back Shrine Road, Unfound Adventure and Let's Live in a Lovely Cemetery). Also, dat smugness, Mary.

Re: Touhou II: Story of an Eastern Thread
So one of the YouTube accounts that upload Touhou songs that I had a lot of songs marked for downloading after space-clearing, decided to close. I've found a number of them, but one that is particularly wanted and particularly frustrating my efforts is still absent from the list. So if possible I'd like some help finding it again.
The problem is that I don't really remember any of the details.
So, here's what I know:
It's an arrange of both of Hina's themes, Dark Road and Apotropaic God.
It has vocals.
And it's on the darker side, as far as tone goes.
And that is not very helpful, I know.
So if anyone of you has something along these rather broad lines, I'd appreciate it if you could help me in my quest.I don't really have anything to put here.

Re: Touhou II: Story of an Eastern Thread
You mean Dark Road and Dark Side of Fate, right? Because those two are one and the same theme .
Closest I've found after a quick search is Digitalic Party's and Foreground Eclipse's (warning, screams plus Merami singing way higher than she should) versions. The first isn't really dark per se, but... Any idea of the general style (pop, rock, metal, techno...) of the song in question? That may help narrowing it down a bit.

Re: Touhou II: Story of an Eastern Thread
See, I'm super competent at this whole detail thing.

Mm...These are both songs I've looked at, yes. Nice to be reminded that FE exists again, though; I forgot about them for a bit.
As far as the song goes, I think it was rock? If it was rock, it was somewhere on the heavier side. Something with a short guitar intro and a lot of generated sounds. Dark Forest or somesuch? Youtube Search of that didn't pull up anything as far as I could see.
EDIt: In a bit more detail, towards the beginning and end of DP's nonexistence, it sounds a lot like what I'm looking for. At the beginning is the same sort of tone and at the end is the part of the theme that's used the most in the piece I'm looking for.
Anyhow, thanks for helping! It's greatly appreciated.Last edited by cezyou; 2012-07-27 at 05:24 AM.

Re: Touhou II: Story of an Eastern Thread
Hm. Came to suggest SOUND HOLIC, but now I don't think it fits too well with the second part of your edit. That, and nothing 709sec sings in that masterful Engrish of his can ever be considered "dark". Oh well, it was probably too easy anyway...
Youtube and the Touhou Wiki aren't helping much, and I'm sure you've scoured them already anyway, so I guess I'll try and figure out how the search engine in Nico works and keep looking there. Gotta keep my Japanese fresh during the holidays after all.

Re: Touhou II: Story of an Eastern Thread
Damn Prime32 stealing my thunder. *shakes fist*
And that's a blocky Reimu alright. How long till someone makes a Lego Touhou fangame (and gets sued to oblivion immediately afterwards,) I wonder...
Neon is alright . And yeah, I can guess now why we couldn't find it, since that version seems to be just a Dark Side of Fate remix, with no Dark Road involved. Oh well, at least I added a few more Hina remixes to my ever growing Google Docs list!

Re: Touhou II: Story of an Eastern Thread
Not a bad game. If i may suggest, you might want to try learning how to triangle graze. It's really effective at high level play, since i noticed that you tend to get stuck in terms of movement after your first dash.
In case anyone is interested at all..
My Hisoutensoku stuff
My Suwako (Main)
My Alice
My Sanae
Yeah.. i play at a really high level X-x

Re: Touhou II: Story of an Eastern Thread
Why are you scared? D: It's not like i'm that good or anything. I'm probably the worst player here right? *shot*
Anyways yeah, i only use voice patch for offline games just to piss my opponent off/derp around. Other than that, not really.
Any place i can find games around here?

This is the most sublimely awful train wreck of a Touhou LP I've ever seen.

Re: Touhou II: Story of an Eastern Thread
I find myself disagreeing with you sir. That is a thing of beauty. The only way it could be finer is if Brokuren the Viking was the main character.
