The birds do not answer Magtok, continuing to do their best to evade and still shoot at him. One grenade blast catches a bird's leg, doing a nice job of making it completely inoperable.

The lasers from the laser-goose, well, the blasts aren't doing much, but a bird can only have so many small laser-holes in it before it becomes unable to fly, or something important gets hit.

The drones continue their climb, now making their way across the roof. No safety ropes, tsk tsk, how unsafe.

Grace's Office - Celestial Dynamics

Eric won't fall behind - He doesn't particularly want to stay with Patience either. She was all kinds of condescending, and he hates people like that; The strange language he spoke was one of the few times he's been able to kick back at individuals like that.

Once they're out of earshot of her, Eric says, "What an absolute peach of a woman! Condescension and passive aggressively putting down the intelligence of another person all at once. And no polite conversation is complete without suspicion." his face doesn't change from flat emotion as he says this

"She's not particularly pleasant."
Agrees Grace, opening the door before them.
"But she is very skilled at her job, among other things."
The door opens to... another office? This one looks different though, even though the plaque on it ALSO indicates that the office belongs to Grace.

"You should probably go through first. It's the proper procedure."
Grace says, holding the door open for him.

Gordon, watching the images from his satille, seeing Ilpholin run from WATCHTOWER and head to her grove.

"Hmm, seems like something went wrong. Best to check on her before she hurts herself more."

And off he goes, heading for a place between the grove and WATCHTOWER, which should be easier for him to find than either exact place.

[Red Zone- Streets]

Prometheus wanders, not looking where he's going, without any destination in mind, an occasional streetlight highlighting his sharpened teeth and claws as he trudges through the otherwise dark streets. Eventually, he finds what he was Seeking, a house, 108 Arkham Street. He smashes open the window with a rock and steps into the house, grimacing as a jagged shard of glass attached to the windowframe slices a long cut across his leg, even as the series of muffled swears and footsteps announces that the owner of the house is awake.

The man, so recently awoken by the sound of someone breaking into his house, pulls the shotgun from it's place in his closet, and begins to walk down the stairs, looking for the intruder. He cannot see in the dark, so he cannot see Prometheus waiting just outside his door, nor the axe in Prometheus's hands.

A single swing of the axe, and it's over, the sickening thud of the impact coating the sharpened edge with blood. Prometheus reaches down and searches the man's pockets, quickly finding what he was looking for. A small whetstone, Object 81, the Holder of Simplicity.

[Arkham Street, Kirkbride sanatorium]

Amid the Gothic buildings of Arkham street in the centre of a dark fog that seems to twist all colour and every shadow into vicious horrors resting but at the very edge of sight lies an old and neglected hospital.

At first glance it looks almost pleasant, the front door wide open and inviting, but upon nearing the decaying walls of it begins to give off the feeling of watching, waiting for a single wrong step into the darkness that fills every corner in the street.

Over the door hangs a faded sign.

Because you can never have too many plot clones wandering around Arkham, a small kitty Reinholdt is walking home one day when he passes the hospital.
"Huh... that wasn't there before..."
Reinholdt tilts his head and takes a few steps closer to get a better look, peering in the doorway. An old decaying building with its doors wide open? Clearly this just got transported to the Nexus recently.

Dorotha is still in her lab, having had several bags of clay brought there earlier, along with some metal rods.

The inside of the hospital looks dark, much darker than it's broken windows give way for, but otherwise it seems perfectly normal and even looks like it's been recently cleaned.

Except for a small pool of dark liquid near a counter almost ethereal in the darkness, a drop of the same liquid falling into it as the kitten watches.

But before the kitten has time to watch another drop fall something white blurs past inside the hallway in the other end of the hall, and a little sound can be heard. It sounds almost like a voice.

(Unfortunately I have to deadtime now, but feel free to look at stuff while I'm gone, it won't kill you... Yet. )

Old Hotel

Justinian wakes in a cold sweat, panting, headache flaring in his mind as the dreams...no, nightmares replay in his head, tormenting his soul. He raises his hands to his face, trying not to remember the screams of the child as his mace hit home over and over and over...

Then...oh Light, the knife...the flaying...it was like he was a man possessed. He couldn't stop it, stop it at all. He tried and tried, screaming in frustration as he watched himself skin the body. All for some bracers....

He shudders, feeling chilled and like a nervous wreck before reaching to grab the waterskin in the darkness of his room. He takes a long drink before pulling his blankets over him, remembering the second part. It hadn't been bloody, but it was just as bad in it's own horrific way.

He had been brought before a Demonic Justice, charged with every wrongdoing he's done, all the people he's killed, and was chained, chastised, yelled at and abused before everyone. The worst part, was that no matter what, he still felt the guilt and admitted to all that he did, unable to say he was innocent. All the while he couldn't look away from the horrible person judging him.

The only reprieve was that he was found innocent and let go. Even so, he knows he wouldn't be forgetting either of the dreams.

He shudders once more and reaches up to rub his eyes. He stops when he feels something sticky, smells copper, and hears the clink of metal on metal.

Justinian freezes for a moment before casting a small ball of Light at his candles, providing illuminations. He sees his hands, covered in drying blood, bracers locked around his wrists, and pulls back the sheets to show thick icy chains wrapped around his chest.

He screams in horror, realizing that they weren't nightmares....

Odd. The place seemed clean except for that one spot. Why clean everything else and no-

"Hello?!" Reinholdt shouts down the corridor.

Before moving down into the hallway to try and find whatever it was that he just saw. Probably just someone squatting in an abandoned building. Yeah.

Sunny arrives here with Carl, Archer the pug puppy, and a blue hoverdrone. She's almost incandescent with joy and pride. After her factory had been destroyed, she'd had to rent space elsewhere where she and Carl and her robots worked around the clock to get the assembly lines up to get the train cars up in time. "We did it!"

Din slowly and nervously enters the place, and has a look around

Carl, on his hoverboots, smiles and leans over to kiss her cheek. "You definitely did." He tells her happily, overjoyed at the sight of her being so cheery this soon after the destruction of EVR.

The reception area is quite plain and brightly lit. The sound of animals can be heard faintly from further within the building. There are several other people here. A man at the front desk, a couple just entering the room with a dog, and a woman mopping the floor.

Din has a brief look around, and then approaches the woman

"I am here for the Holder of Compassion."

The woman shudders and sets her mop aside. "Right, follow me." She says before walking toward the hallway the couple just came from.

Sunny takes his hands and swings him around. Hoverboots make that pretty easy. "Where do you want to go?"

Din is first lead down a hall lined with kennels with well cared for animals. Then they turn a corner. This hall extends much further than it should be able to. It's almost impossible to see the end. This passage is lined with small cages. Contained in the cages are a startling variety of wounded animals.

As the woman leads her on in silence, Din will quickly notice that the animals' conditions grow steadily worse. Open sores decorate their bodies, some are missing limbs, not a single animal looks like it will last another moment, but they do.

The stench of dying flesh worsens and the air is thick, hot, and filled with the buzzing of flies.

Carl reaches over to pet Archer with a grin. "Lets just ride the circuit for a while and check out how smooth it runs."

Sunny would grin at the suggestion, but she's pretty much already beaming so much she can't grin any bigger. "You have the best ideas!" Archer starts to bark as a train arrives at the station. The doors slide open smoothly, and Sunny skips onto the train, putting a hand on the inner wall. "Hi, Carriage 8. You're doing such a good job."

((Anyone else is free to board the train and interact with Sunny and Carl.))

Magtok finds this to be getting a little out of hand, and tosses his goose right at the mouth of one of the birds, expecting it to accidentally fire and explode the mallard right in its beak. He also tries to swoop behind one, grab its wings and use it as a sort of human shield, minus the human.

Why won't you dumb ducks just die already?! Seriously, this is getting to be a huge waste of my time!

Magtok won't like what happens next.

A flash of light...

And the birds get teleported away. I imagine the laser goose must feel pretty silly, its path now set to end with impact against either a wall or the floor.

Aaand now the loudspeakers kick in. "Really Magtok, this is most juvenile of you. This hangar is of no importance. Why waste so much time attacking it?"

The drones make their way to the hole and begin work on fixing it. They're still holding onto the roof with nothing but their hands and feet.

The passage turns sharply several times. Din's guide turns the third corner. By the time Din turns it, their is no sign of the woman.

Carl watches her with a smile. "It's beautiful Sunny." He says, moving alongside her. "You made every bit of it, right? What can she do?" He asks, knowing she'd go into technobabble, but willing to listen.

"It travels on something called ley-lines. Magic." Sunny says. No babble! "I only made the carriages. Other people taught them how to talk to magic."

"Like how you talk to machines?" He asks with a raised eyebrow.

Sunny shakes her head. "No. It's... more like how the gas pedal talks to the crankshaft." Archer pulls at the lead, wanting to run around and explore the carriage.
