"And who are you?" One of the guards asks. They don't have their weapons ready, just curious as to who the newcomer is. "And we need to know why."

Carl's Place

"Thanks." he tells her with a smile before taking the puppies.

Terrowin

"I am the Most High Reverend Terrowin of Xela's Howe, member of WATCHTOWER and High Priest of the Church of Dalachrech. It is about slavery." Rebecka seems nervous, especially around the weaponry, although Terrowin does not seem so concerned.

Terrowin

The guards look at each other before one speaks into his comm, after a moment, the two will hear his voice. "Step on the teleporter, our Commander is busy, but you'll be directed to someone else who can assist you."

Terrowin

"Thank you." Terrowin and Rebecka will stand on the teleporter and wait to be beamed up.

Carl's Place

A few hours later, Sunny will come back for lunch, still walking on air. Metaphorically. Well, she could physically too, but hoverboots make her nervous.

He'll be teleported a few hundred feet straight up, onto the floating island that is Remnant, and let through the gate. He'll be taken to a meeting room, where a Drow in the new power armor is waiting. "You're Terrowin?" He asks with a heavy New Yorker accent.

Carl's Place

When Sunny comes back, the pups are sleeping in a ball on the couch, and the place has been cleaned up. He's cleaned up as well, breaking in his new uniform, including his cape. He gives her a smile, adding the finishing touches on lunch.

"I am, yes. And you are?" Rebecka might still be with him, unless she wasn't teleported. If she was, she's with him. If she wasn't, she's looking around, confused and wondering where Terrowin was.

Carl's Place

Sunny looks him over. Of course, his uniform was the first one she took charge of when they were delivered, and she made sure then that it was in perfect operational order. But that's hardly what'd going through her mind right now.

"You look handsome."

Meeting Room

She was teleported too. "Fred. And from the reports I've been reading, you're not exactly on good terms with us. Slavery accusations and all. Even have an eyewitness account." Ripped directly from her mind, but he doesn't mention that. "Why the sudden change."

Carl's Place

Carl is wearing just his cloth uniform for now, no armor, but he still gives her a smile before hovering over to her and giving her a kiss. "Thank you." He wraps his arms around her neck and hangs off of her from behind her. "Sunny? This marriage, I thought it'd be fast, which is why I said to keep it to us, but I think it's perfectly fine as it is." He tells her with another kiss on her cheek.

"You want to tell people?" Sunny asks happily, after a few kisses. Carl has forgotten that complex sentences tend to be hard for her to understand. "How fast do you think it should be?"

Meeting Room

"My religion was heavily persecuted on my homeworld, moreso than the others, in fact. That's why I haven't contacted you before now, and why I've tried to keep us secret; I don't want what happened to my hometown to happen again. As for slavery, it was legal, and I only learnt it was not so here recently. As a show of good faith, I bring you Rebecka. She has been healed of all wounds, and I'd prefer you not to poke around her mind; some of the rituals she was party to are, by command of Dalachrech Himself, not to be known to Outsiders. I also blocked certain traumatising memories of hers, such as the removal of her tongue. The tongue was succesfully regenerated, however." Terrowin smiles, slightly; it's a sad smile, too.
"We have done a lot of good for the city, too; when the Haven crashed, we rushed out to heal the wounded. When the zombies invaded, we patrolled the streets and cured some of the madness. In the recent difficulties with the Fall of the Empire and the space-arthropod invasion, we helped organise the defence of the Null Zone, offering healing, moral support, patrolling to prevent looting and finding anybody not in the bunkers, and additional protection should it be necessary." I can't remember what the Cult did during the Felinian invasion; they either helped, or consisted solely of Terrowin, probably the latter unless the Haven had crashed by then. "Therefore, I would like a pardon for all of our previous illegal acts, which I believe consist only of keeping four slaves, several assaults upon three of those, and killing one of them. I would like to report another murder, too; Reverend Madame Gertrude de la Moy was killed in the Black Dragon's Den by choking on an apple tree. A ring containing her Orb of Brotherhood, the method we use to communicate, and her holy symbol, were missing. We know that she was speaking to a member of HALO known as Din, whom also does not like us."

Carl's Place

Carl quiets her with a kiss, holding it however long is necessary to calm her. "It'll take a couple weeks' planning. At least." he tells her.

Meeting Room

Fred looks thoughtful for a moment and looks over a few pages of notes. "Well, I'd like to take Rebecca to be checked out my medical officials if possible before deciding anything final."

Carl's Place

I don't think it's possible to kiss her long enough to calm her excitement, but he can calm her questioning at least. "Why didn't you want me to tell people?"

Or maybe not.

Infirmary

Edijar leans against a solid wall and grabs a nearby magazine to wait for Feia to turn back to normal as the emergency doors slides back, opening the room again.

Not quite a literal statue, though her minimal movement may hint otherwise.
Perhaps gargoyle or earth-elemental would be...closer.

Feia will wait a few moments before wiping a hand over the glyph.
It does not vanish, though its color changes and her body returns to normal.
A few bits of ice cling here and there, from her prior idea, but for the most part normal.

She eyes the little symbol on the back of her hand, deciding to keep it around a bit longer.
In case more peculiar air-locks come into play, being able to assume a non-breathing form on a moment's notice could be useful.
"Can I expect similar devices in other rooms of the base?"

Carl's Place

Carl rests his head on her shoulder with a content sigh. "Because I thought we'd been going too fast, but now I know it'd be a good idea. We had planned everything else except for last night, and just wanted to make sure this was exactly what you wanted, not the moment." He tells her, trying to keep it simple, but knowing she'd probably miss part of it.

Infirmary

Edijar gives her a nod. "Among other things." It's apparent that he wasn't going to tell her all the security plans until she earns his full trust. She's earned a lot, but there was still a ways to go.

Carl's Place

Sunny sits down and pulls him into her lap, looking into his eyes. "When you were gone, I didn't know if you could come back. And I thought of all the things we had waited for." She bites her lip and hesitates before asking the next question. "How long were you gone?"

For Sunny it had been the worst few days of her life. But she knew it had been longer for Carl.

"Too long." He says, not wanting to tell her the complete truth. "But every bit of it was worth being with you."

"You're so brave," Sunny says.

Carl kisses her forehead gently. "You are too, I heard about what you did, "Saint"." He says with a slight smirk.

Sunny shakes her head, embarrassed. "That's just what I do every day. It isn't brave to fix machines." Her hand goes to the hammer she wears on her belt, that she will treasure for the rest of her life.

"You saved their lives, and they'll always be grateful for that." He tells her. "Whether you want them to be or not."

Feia got the answer to the specific question she posed, so she won't fault Edijar for denying additional information.
Although, there is a teensy warning in there she files away. "Among other things." How fascinating.

"Is this the only mage you have to be affected like this?"

Carl's Place

He squeezes her hand. "I did it willingly, Sunny. I knew what would happen." He admits quietly, looking away from her.

Infirmary

"She's the only one affected this badly, yes. The others had it only temporarily."

"I know. I couldn't be that brave." Sunny admits.

"I just thought about how'd I'd be if something happened to you. I know I can come back at least, but I don't know about you." He tells her, hugging her tight.

Sunny just hugs him back. She doesn't know what to say. Death scares her, whether she could come back or not.

Feia looks over to the bed, pondering the conundrum.
Ordinarily, if they were similar mages, the effects should have been at least relatively equal. That effect was severe enough where she's positive it wasn't a power-discrepancy.
Perhaps proximity...
"Did she activate it?"

After a moment, Edijar nods. "She did it willingly and knowingly. She knew the risks."

Perhaps a direct cost of activation was the more drastic power-denial, unless it simply was a more standard explosion-style proximity effect.
Undoubtedly a defense can be made against this somehow...maybe line the user in lead? Ebonlux crystal?

Feia looks over at the mage again, frowning slightly, although not necessarily at Edijar's very "cover our ass" explanation.
"She is a very brave individual, no doubt."
A statement as fact, more than a stated question.
